First of all, japanese chubby =/ western chubby. Outside of maybe porn, they're mostly thin buggers, and probably the biggest proponents of size zero models, especially with men.

Second, if the curves stick, chubby is pretty good. It's where the bodymass is distributed is the problem, gotta keep a decent muscular structure.

Third, what people say is 'ideal' and what people actually go for is very different. I can guarantee there are tall and lanky buggers on this board that are supposedly the best flavour for lots of women through various stages of their life, but people tend not to act on their tastes due to crippling self image issues.
