Since they did power point presentations they had the chance to put a lot of work into the art. With some modern animation and old artwork anime could be perfect, but again if you want that you should prepare to have longer waiting seasons and fewer series, also a studio that works for the sake of anime and not money.

For JoJo it was to mimic the manga's artstyle switch away from the HnK aping to Araki's newer one. Also the Japs don't care about JoJo past Part 3 because they have terminally shit taste in everything o 4 gets a smaller budget.
