Toradora was very okay in the end. It had a lot of problems, but I liked it when it was good, but my fondest memories of the show come from the shitposting and threads that surrounded it. It was a grand old time and I'm glad to have watched it live.

The ending was terrible. Why did she leave for a whole fucking YEAR?

It felt so weird that so much change and develop during the show and that time span was less than a year. Then a year passes and...everyones relationships just freeze and don't develop? Ryuji not getting angsty or the other girls not trying to get him on the rebound feels very...convenient. Maybe I just hate stupid timeskips.
At least we got a new school uniform out of it.

I loved it the first time I watched it and it became my favorite anime. But when I re-watched it several years later I realised it was not as good as I first though.

The first two and last two episodes were great but the rest was just meh. It went from a 10/10 to a 7/10 for me.

I found it refreshing that the main girl was a petite tsundere and the love interest was a snowflake scatterbrain tomboy. These archetypes usually get relegated to side character roles.
Maybe I don't consume enogh of the genre but this felt very new to me.
