Does anyone else feel sad for Levi at the end of all this?

He tried so hard to save his comrade and friend, but in the end, Erwin chose to sacrifice himself, and now Armin is the one to be saved.

Eren and Mikasa act like complete children and throw a tantrum at Levi having the nerve to try to save not only the leader of the group, but one of Levi's own closest friends. The worst part is that they themselves surely know how much Levi has lost, and they should know that this was probably Levi's only chance at saving someone who was close to him, yet they wanna just fight him instead of trying to be even somewhat understanding.

I think the core of the story lies in Ymir's words to Historia back in their flashback, are you willing to die just so that people would tell the story of your heroic sacrifice. I think many characters in snk are martyrs, not for the sake of saving humanity, but rather for the sake of their own glory; Erwin is the perfect example of this. Rarely anyone actually dies out of pure selflessness

I think Ymir's biggest moment of selfishness was lashing out at BR that she wanted to see Historia one more time by having her kidnapped, and even that was her plan to have Historia saved. Unlike Eren whose ambition is to be free, and to have every single titan destroyed, Ymir's only ambition was to make sure Historia would have a safe future (and possibly to have her people saved). Her form of selfishness consisted of living under her own name and not giving in to the desires of those who wanted her dead, but even that came to and end.

I'm mostly talking about how Eren's form evidently changed after he consumed his father. His titan form came out to look more similar to that of his fathers, with the shoulder-length hair and the strength and all when he used to be a midget.

As for the reason Frieda didn't change, I think that's because both the Reiss serum, and Uri's titan form were exactly the same, so the titan form stayed pretty much the same.

Ymir's changed slightly, and if you don't believe me , go take a look at the flashback panel and Ymir's titan form in later chapters.

However, not all of their complaints are just butthurt judging from some of the comments in the thread in the link. There seems to be some complaints about the logical inconsistencies in the story. Like how did Hanji get there so fast when she didn't have much gas, why was Erwin's death presented as a merciful thing when death in this series is usually tragic and horrific, and how did Armin survive a full body burn when Kenny was an Ackerman an died with only half his body burnt. It is a shonen manga though and the logic can get rather shoddy at times, especially when it comes to MCs.

You know, the most depressing thin will be Armin finding out he's still alive. Armin all but dies with the knowledge that he was finally useful now and not a burden then he gets a new lease on life and is going to have more burden placed on him than ever. It's almost comical. It's the complete opposite of what he wanted.

Some fans speculated that Eren and Armin might not be friends anymore because of Armin, but now it looks like the supposed rift will come more as a result of Eren's actions. I wonder if Eren's character might change now that he isn't the only titan shifter in the group.

I'm going to be honest, I always thought Reiner would be the first to die since he always seemed to be the most developed one out of the titan trio.

Ber was on his way to getting developed and then, dead. just like that. I guess it shouldn't be as surprising considering the amount of sudden deaths, much like in wars in real life.

I think is not the fact of Armin getting the serum but how Isayama actually made a big effort to shield the reasons behind Armin's survival.
As readers, we should be able to make our own opinion and put two and two together. But this chapter was designed entirely to be a marketing conference about the reasons why Armin deserves to live.
Still, despite the unsophisticated way the theme of "inhumanity" was exposed, kinda indicates that Armin is destined for something controversial.
However, compared whith the foreshadowing of Bert and Reiner as Titans, you feel that these foreshadowings about Armin are insipid and too obvious. Isayama really seemed to have fun guiding us to Bert and Reiner exposure, while with Armin is the opposite.
And there is still the possibility that this alleged "suffering" from Armin as shifter is just babbling that is going to be used in the future to justify his presence (Armin never does something bad but people keep telling us he is a demon), rather than real consequences (Armin actually does something regrettable).

It's difficult to really come to some sort of conclusion as far as his death is concerned. I agree with what you said, since it's not exactly a healthy thing to promote, that someone with depression and suicidal thoughts should just be allowed to die. However, you can also see Levi as freeing Erwin from his pain. He knows the world would benefit from him living. Realistically, most of us know that he was a better candidate for the serum than Armin, though Isayama just let his favourite get it. Erwin was better for humanity than Armin.
