You know... In my humblest opinion, I do think that Mikasa AT LEAST trying to say to Eren why Erwin is possibly the best choice would be better than outright fighting him, or at least have her hold back Eren and try to calm him down as he's fighting Levi or something.
Mikasa would never fight Eren, but I still think it'd be neat if, while torn between who should get the serum, just takes a much more calm head than Eren. That would've been nice to see in my opinion, because she just outright chimped out in this chapter.
Everyone can understand that with the choice to save the loved ones, you'd WANT to chose your loved ones in a heartbeat, but when you have to take things into a more logical stance over what's possibly better for the future, even you couldn't help but think, "Damn, but is that really the right choice?". I'd like to see Mikasa be the extremely reluctant devil's advocate, because obviously everyone knew Eren would literally kill himself if it meant that Armin could survive.
In the end, I have to wager that it was never gonna happen due to the way Eren acts. Mikasa doing something like that would probably eternally fracture their friendship and he'd ensure she'd never live it down. Then again, it kinda surprises me that Isayama DIDN'T do that since that'd be some more drama for the trio.

I'm not a characterfag of anyone in particular, but I don't hate anyone. I like every character in SnK, including Armin, Bert, and Erwin. I've defended Isayama relentlessly in the past, making excuse after excuse, and rationalizing all of his decisions.
This chapter is where I can't do that anymore. It's not even a problem with who lived and who died. It's just how it was handled. It's all just such objectively bad, bad writing, I don't know how I can say that the series hasn't jumped the shark.
What was the point of half of the pages in the past 4 chapters? Why waste the frames if there is no point to any of it?

even as unpolished art, it could really be a lot better in terms of contrast, scene, etc
all isayama can really focus on is the flow of the scene because he struggles so much with basic elements of art. he can't establish contrast, he has trouble focusing attention within the composition of a scene. he has trouble conveying motion. there's a reason the entire page is always chopped up into so many panels.
he's not even good at emotion, though it might be his least bad quality.
pretty much the only threads I check any more are those single panel post threads. seriously take a look at one of those and compare it to an snk panel

You know, I have to be completely honest, this is probably one of the more worse fakeout "death" I've seen. Usually when someone "dies", there's a general feeling that they're done, and they won't be coming back.
I can't help but feel Armin's "death" was very satisfactory, so for him to come back after all that's happened, feels like a big cop out. Especially considering how Eren and Mikasa seemed extremely childish and selfish, even though it's understandable that they want their beloved friend to survive, it just seems like they went about it the totally wrong way.

the angle of the curve only happens when you're laying flat on your back looking straight up. but sadamoto is working with limited space, and if he was to draw the scene from such a low angle the shape of the eva and angel would have been unrecognizable, but he also wants to show nightfall via the outline.
so he exaggerates one aspect to accentuate the other
that's art. that's a compromise
isayama is still struggling to simply draw things realistically. but sometimes the realistic portrayal is the worst one. he can barely do a single element of composition if he tries hard for a month. he can't combine them yet.
