Kars hitting his alt self wouldn't kill him, though. He's next to impossible to kill by normal means, I doubt that the sort of collision that merging does could kill a normal pillar-man, let alone a perfect one.

Both versions of him would probably stay alive but stuck together, though. Maybe they'd only be able to move again if one of them let the other digest him, thus freeing up himself. If they couldn't come to an agreement they could be stuck forever.

I think that Koichi gets some dislike because he's too similar to Josuke (but more of a doormat) and takes a lot of focus away from him at the start. He's more useful, but no-one could accuse Speedwagon of stealing development from Jonathan or Joseph.

Koichi on the other hand is dangerously close to a standard shoen sort of obnoxious bland main character, he is Araki trying to write Gohan, and some people don't like how he sometimes takes time away from the vastly more popular and entertainingly flawed Okuyasu and Josuke.

When it comes to animeonlys, I've found that most of the ones who dislike Koichi think that he's a pussy, despite the character growth that he's already gone through. I'm sure some of those people will like him a little more once the anime gets to Sheer Heart Attack and Koichi's "fuck you, a child figured out who you are, Kira" speech.

No. Nothing in the anime has been better, especially visually.
One of the best things about JoJo is Araki's ever changing art-style, and the anime almost always fails to capture that. The pastel colors they used really throw me off too.

I think what they did in Battle Tendency was fucking terrible with the colours, it was all muddy and overly touched up and just lacked any style or coherent design that made it feel like JoJo. The colouring for DiU is literally perfect, I find it hard to believe it even exists. It's like the kind of fantasy adaptation we would like to pretend could happen but no-one would really believe in, back in the day.

In the end, DP did the right thing. Cinderella placed directly after Shigechi's death ruins the mood of the cour. A friend was just killed and a serial killer is on the loose and suddenly Josuke and Okuyasu are engaging in girl shenanigans with Koichi, like they don't give a shit. It's not within character and it completely ruins the mood that Chase sets up and that Quiet Life would set up.

But that's it. That's the only time they ever mention it. It doesn't fit.

Cinderella is literally only there to provide a deus ex escape for Kira, the Koichi and Yukako plot in the arc is literally never discussed ever again.

By putting Cinderella first, you let the introduced characters mellow in, and then get killed in the most climactic series of events in Part 4. David did nothing wrong.

I mean people have always commented how its shitty that both fatty and Cinderalla are killed in the arcs following their ones, but still doing it this way does ruin the way Kira's inclusion in the story works with him being a constant presence appearing in between other more light hearted stories and generally fucking everything up, which is one of the central themes of his character/DiU in general. And what if it sets a precedent, and they carry on like this, giving us longer blocks of non Kira and then everything Kira related in blocks? That'd fucking suck, Araki interspaced him for a reason.

The "elusive serial killer" aspect does not apply to the events directly after Quiet Life specifically because of the button he left behind. It is a huge plot hole that Crazy Diamond didn't just restore the button back to it's owner and DP is taking it upon themselves to make Quiet Life and SHA continuous so that people don't notice it.

Before you try to bring up the common arguments to "restoring the button", let me shoot them down.

I'm honestly OK with this. It marks a clearer change in tone in DiU up to that point, and Kira getting away with murder (literally) after being so close to being caught will make the payoff much more cathartic. Not to mention that killing off two characters in a row will make the stakes much more personal.

Not saying they're doing a better job than Araki but I think it works well both ways.

One of the problems with Cinderella's placement in the manga is that it either sacrifices characterization or logic. Like the scene during the middle of Red Hot Chili Pepper where Josuke is unnecessarily oblivious to Okuyasu having essentially a mental breakdown (even when they're very close friends), it leaves people wondering why characters act so differently. I mean imagine an episode where Shigechi is seen screaming as he ascends into the afterlife and the people of Morioh vow to hunt down the serial killer and then the next episode, the button is mentioned once at the beginning, and then whoo it's girlfriend shenanigans. If you say its in their character, then the vow seems really flimsy, but if you say it isn't in character, then there's no logic.

When the fruit is used, the body part used in payment becomes stone and crumble like the old man's eyeballs, josefumi's face.
The higashikata curse and the family's relation with rock humans, (fruit salesman looking for the rookaka, jobin's motives) all revolves around the rock humans.
The body turning to stone as if they were sacrificed in one big equivalent exchange.
The higashikatas' ancestors made one big equivalent exchange with the rock humans.
Payment would be the first born son of the Higashikatas.
They will be sacrificed for something yet to be revealed.
Norisuke, Jobin and Tsurugi are all trying to prevent themselves from being sacrificed implies the higashikatas are trying to revolt against something their ancestors did.
Jobin being an eldest son who has been through the ordeal is working with the rock humans. This is shifty and not just a coincidence.
Norisuke's mother being turned to stone is a hint the rock humans no longer need first born sons and used whatever higashikata family members they seemed please.
Holly falling for the disease implies the joestars also did something.

The Stands get better as it goes on and the last stretch is great but it got butchered in the current translations so it kind of falls flat in English currently, despite being pretty good in Italian. I hope JJCA hurry up with their retranslation so you guys can finally read what we've had for years, you're seriously missing out. And the Stands in 5 are a lot stronger in 5 than in 3 and 4, but that's because after the point you're at currently the main group they're fighting are actual career assassins so their Stands are OP as fuck. Stands in 6 tone it down but get OP again in the second half but there's a reason for that.

There was probably a psychological component, like if he lost his hand normally he wouldn't lose SHA but resolve and shit made him lose it since he was willingly sacrificing it and giving it free reign to keep going forever without him because of his drive to live a quiet life. It was an important character moment for him and he willingly severed his connection with SHA permanently to get away.

He didn't want to violate the privacy of the woman who'd confessed to swapping Weather with her own dead son. He didn't want to traumatize Weather with the knowledge that he was adopted illegally. He didn't want to traumatize his family and Perla in particular with the knowledge that a child they'd thought was long-dead was still alive and was in an incestuous relationship with his sister. And he didn't want to just pretend he hadn't heard anything and let it continue, either.

He made a terrible call, but it was in a bid to keep everyone as happy and minimally scarred as possible. If his plans had gone as they wanted, the only sadness caused by them would've been Perla and Weather feeling down for a while over a failed relationship before moving on.

How is Joseph even similar to a character from FOTNS?

It has some similarities with the martial arts and powers but FOTNS lacks the self-awerness of being and over the top shounen that JJBA has. Part 1 is indeed FOTNS meets Dracula but Part 2 maks a difference with a MC that is the polar opposite of Kenshiro. And when stands are introduced there's almost nothing of FOTNS on JJBA aside from the art style.

What are the pro and the cons of Jojo fanbase being bigger?
I think:
Pros: More fanbase=More things like more SAS, Games, Adaptations etc etc and more people to spoil with BTD panel in part4

Cons: The absolute mayhem because the newfags and animeonly's, a more cancerous fandom [like Steven Universe or Undertale, ok, less cancerous than that shit but still fucked up]

That is pretty retarded, look at the other threads in /a/, if there's anything that new people should be enjoying more is older manga such as Jojo, and that elitist attitude is one of the factors that keeps people away from it.

If the anime adaptations are great, someday the whole manga will be covered and reading it will be only for completionists, if the adaptations are up to par.

If you read SBR, you know that Valentine doesn't choose which alternate universes he travels to, but he usually ends up in ones that are only slightly different from the base world. If in the base world, you were chased by all JoJo main villains, you would probably be chased by them in the alternate universe as well, albeit changed (DIO with Scary Monsters, Kira without Killer Queen, any number of possibilities). Most likely they'd also confuse you with your alternate universe counterpart and if Valentine was smart and killed your counterpart so you wouldn't sponge up, you'd be the only ones they could bully.
