Actually, OP is right, this has really bothered me too throughout the movies/new series. It's either a stupid 'clang' sound which is completely incorrect for the item it's making contact with (bones, etc) or an exaggerated 'bloody' sound that makes it seem like he's squeezing a fleshlight full of mayo.

Studio needs to watch some Hollywood movies like Gladiator and take a hint on sound effects.
