It's about the red thread of fate, the bond between people (like TTGL was a spiral, the progress ever continuing progress of a human being) Ryuko overcomes her internal struggle and validates her existence through her everdeveloping relationship with Senketsu, who mirrors her own existential crisis. This is a the fate forced on them by the life fibers (the red string of fate) but also something they chose for themselves time and time again. Those same red threads bind everyone I'm the show together.
>>
>>145293258
Given the first few episodes I would have told you it was a bildungsroman told from the perspective of a female kind of like how flcl was the same style of story from a male perspective. It had shades of that towards the end as well.

Quality-wise the anime is ok, looks good and has some good fights, but they're at the service of nothing, if you ever watched a shonen in your life you know what to expect in KLK, KLK is just a shonen with tits.

I don't wish it never happened, because it has some hot characters that I can read doujins of, I guess that's the biggest plus it has.

If you mean a battle shonen, it still really isn't. It's only, what, 26 episodes? It's not like one of those long running SJ manga where every few chapters a new enemy appears to fight x 1000.

KLK shares a lot more in common with school battle manga and anime (there's a difference) and that sort of thing from the 70s and 80s.

At first I thought it was going to be something deep about faschism, but that was quickly abandoned. Then it became about accepting yourself and red string of fate bullshit, but ultimately I think the writers gave up, especially with the ending scene of cute girls doing cute things. A rather apt progression that reflects the shallowness of modern anime?

>>145293258
Well saying excluding fanservice is a bit hard, because the fanservice was part of it.

The theme was that clothes and decorations aren't what define you, and you shouldn't be ashamed of, ignore or hide what is underneath, but that you should strive to become the best version of yourself, rather than a 'pig fawning over human clothing'.

was moby dick actually about anything more than "a man hunting a whale"?
What thematic depth does Moby Dick contain that would not be present in any other account of a man hunting a whale? Other than the cumulative dickriding of centuries of litcrit hacks, why is the story any deeper than "man hunts whale, as told by Herman Melville"

That's why she was embarrassed, but she doesn't get over her embarrassment because she's become comfortable with being naked, she gets over her embarrassment because she realized getting naked, and becoming one was her way of connecting with him.

The distinction is that body image has nothing to do with this show from this point on but wearing Senketsu has everything to do with the show from that point on.

>Honnouji's symbol is the Space force military insignia from Gunbuster upside down.

>Mako poses once over the Ideon symbol from Space force Ideon

>Nonon's final uniform is pretty damn similar to infinite stratos IS gear, her first uniform was a flying tank.

>Gurren Lagaan refrences from Boota cameo to large form covers kamina glasses, free square.

>Ryuko and Senketsu's reunion transformation after the "edge arc" was very much a typical "robot parts combine to form larger robot" style transformation complete with lens flare as her head popped out of the collar last.

How are those the same? Ryuko is not learning to be comfortable with herself she's learning to be comfortable with Senketsu. Becoming comfortable with someone then becoming better people for each other and having self confidence to strut your stuff are fundamentally different messages. >Homage (/ˈhɒmᵻdʒ/ or /ˈɒmᵻdʒ/) is a show or demonstration of respect or dedication to someone or something, sometimes by simple declaration but often by some more oblique reference, artistic or poetic. The term is often used in the arts for where one author or artist shows respect to another by allusion or imitation; this is often treated and pronounced as the French hommage.

>Multiple interviews they stated that old 80's Anime was their inspiration.
>References loads of Mecha in multiple ways.

>>
>>145307421
When Senketsu Giga Drill Breaker's Ragyo, he says he realized when Satsuki heard his voice that he is the same as Ryuko, both human and clothing, that is why Koketsu Absolute Domination doesn't work on him, that is why he can fight just like her.

Even if you somehow missed the fact that he's one of the main characters, who lives and breathes, you can't ignore that he's a person when he gives a speech about it.

I tried to clue you in and you just went, hurpy durp Senketsu can speak to Ryuko because he has her DNA.

But okay on surface level

>Ryuko and Senketsu say they're both human and clothing before they're synchronized too.

I don't believe you, I'm pretty sure they said they were neither, and that they were synchronized at the time.

Ryuko and Senketsu are not the same thing, Ryuko is a human with life fibers and Senketsu is a Sailor uniform with some of Ryuko's DNA to help them synchronize.

Feel free to prove me wrong, I'm not unreasonable.

Teenage girls going through puberty rebelling against their mother. The fact that Senketsu is fueled by blood is a reference to period blood. I think the blood= menstration is a bit loose as well. I don't really see the connection, period blood isn't life blood.

It was decent, but I liked Satsuki and Ryuko teaming up against Ragyo better.

Neither human and clothing, both somewhere in between. Senketsu is as much of a person as Ryuko, even if he was born a sailor uniform. He does say so himself, >>145307763 in that scene.

How is this even a question? You sound like Tsumugu the cynical man who gets proven wrong by Senketsu and Ryuko.
>>
>>145308323
Why did Senketsu have to die?

Imagine if Trigger decided to do full fanservice for KLK. The fight vs Gamagoori would look a little like this. Unf.

When you are saying person you are evidently meaning as in persona. Which is true, Senketsu is a personified Sailor Uniform.

When I am saying person, I mean Homo Sapiens.

Senketsu still accepts that he is a Sailor Uniform worn by a human, Ryuko, even if they are augmented by eachother.

And I'm sure you missed the subtext about growing up in that scene your picture is showing as well.

So that Ryuko could live
>>
>>145308773
that is fucking noice
>>
>>145308936
Senketsu trying to comfort Ryuko only humanized him more. In the end Ryuko keeps on wearing Senketsu inside her heart and Senketsu becomes a star, no matter how you look at it he's not just a mere sailor uniform he's a person to her, someone that completes her.
>>
>>145309155
How can you miss the point like this? Are you doing this on purpose?

And not once have I used the word mere or anything like it.

Main theme was to make the best Sonic Adventures 2 adaptation.
>>
>>145309356
Because, dude, your boiling down a character down to a single line. Yes, it's like with TTGL, the main character loses someone at the beginning of the show and the end of the show and the way they handle it shows how they've grown, but Senketsu's bond with Ryuko is also shown to be invincible and even after he dies; Ryuko still keeps wearing him in her heart because he was someone she cared about.
>>
>>145308123
What a tetarded interpretation
>>
>>145309155
At least in a way he's still alive makes me happy
>>
>>145310155
We've already established that you were meaning persona and I was meaning human, correct?

I am not boiling a character down to a single line, quite the contrary, that is exactly what it looks like your doing to me.

And your still missing the point. I'm not sure how to explain it to you.

Though this argument is a pointless tangent based on a nitpick anyway.

I wonder where the original guy you were arguing with went. Just so you know my first reply was >>145306527 in case you thought its been the same anon the whole time.

She was the only enjoyable character in the show besides the E4. Without her the whole show would have been an eternal series of MATOI RYUKO KIRYUIN SATSUKI over and over again with an occasional annoying Mako to ruin the tension with no relief. She was the perfect foil to the rest of the cast and was a sinister threat as the Darth Vader to Ryuko's Luke.
