It would have been better if the Project D arc was cut down a bit and Takumi had gone pro instead. The later stages were boring because Takumi stopped being the underdog. Also, Keisuke and Takumi should have had a rematch at some point. And it should have ended with him racing Bunta, not Shinji.

I think it kinda starts dragging by 4th stage, atleast the production values go up towards the end.

First started following this series in 2002 because of locomotion/animax, good times.
