New episode today.
Are you ready for Yukihee-Land?
Here's your bump
What's his fucking problem?
>Texas is the home of BBQ
It's sad that this meme spread all the way to Japan.
I think they're using it specifically in the meme sense, like "Germany home of sausage" or "Italy the home of pasta". The first is fucktarded the second isn't technically true, but they're the 'home' of them in that you go there for some of the best versions and most memeworthy versions.
BBQ as a cooking method probably dates to about 200k BC.
...how is that relevant? My Japanese friends thinks authentic Chinese Mapo and authentic Thai / Indian curry a shit but Japan is not the home of Mapo or Curry whatever his tastes are. It's literal memery.
>ton of meat and very little broth
In my country we have tons more liquid than meat in our stews. Those dishes they served looked uphauling to my stomach.
Giganigga x Knaifu OTP.
Stew is technically just a form of cooking
I think they just emptied the broth or didn't put it into the dish itself.
High class cooking has fucking stupid serving customs, why the fuck give me a two-foot-wide dish if you're only using the middle five inches
But you can't unless you have shit taste.
Personally I think stirfry is one of the most forgiving, hell one of the introductory '''dishes''' chinks tend to make is 'throw everything into a pan and push it around'.
Or if you fuck up the seasoning.
Not him but having shit taste feels roughly the same as having good taste, since as far as he gives a shit you're the one with shit taste.
I'm sorry, Patorisian-san:

Am I the only one who thinks she's a cute?
Taki is mai waifu.
Did he stalk their double date? When will Giga come back.
Anime only fag? We may see Giganigga briefly at end of the season if it ends at one special little gathering after the next arc. He is relevant for a bit in arc after that, but that will not be in this season of anime. And if we do not get season 3 never
>I won't lose next time I swear
I hope he stops being THAT kind of character one day.
I'd say at least 90% of the unnamed ones are too.
Honestly it's probably the peak of the tournament
Mimisaka was just the right amount of asshole for the series, the defeat was perfect, and Erina actually helped out Souma for once in the process
This cuteness should be illegal.
Manga is good enough for her.
Same thing happened with Suisei no Gargantia: a brilliant h-artist does the art for a work with relatively high amount of ecchi content, but the quality doujins are pretty much non-existent. I wonder if there's a correlation here.
>Is it actually that popular?
It definitely is popular enough to get more porn than this. It's not like it need to have a 24/7 general to warrant that.
It does seem like ecchi shit have barely any porn. I don't get it, how do 100% fanservice works warrant more porn than actual ecchi shit? There's tons of porn for bullshit like Haganai, but none for shit with actual good art.
>most of the doujins are about Erina getting raped
Exactly. Either her or Tadokoro. Jesus fuck, if you absolutely have to have rape, at least variate it a bit. Have Hisako or any other of the girls (since they're apparently all lesbian for Erina anyway) rape her. Or have Mito reverse rape Souma. Or hell, for the most perverted people, you even have a girl shown sleeping with wild animals, write a some animal porn.
What I mean is, porn for this work literally writes itself, so why nothing gets done?
A majority of H-artists are extremely unimaginative. They just recycle setups changing only the character design.
This is why, for example, there's so few One Piece doujins where Robin uses her powers. Or why Hideki Kamiya complained that porn with bayonetta was almost all her getting dommed or raped and entirely disregarded her personality.
>however I do know of good manga artists that draw shitty porn, like Tomo's author
Just because you got triggered doesn't mean the porn was bad faggot.
>Yukihira won because he utilized literally all of his experience and Gigganigga would have to copy him since day 1 to win
In the manga, wasn't it that Yukihira is continuously thinking about his dish, right up to the last second before he serves it, and that Gigganigga needs to continuously copy him even to that point to win?
>He could have been a generic harem protagonist
Imagine for a second that Erina and Souma's genders and roles in the show were swapped but their personalities were the same, so we got haughty blond diner boy and playful red haired elite girl. Nothing else changes.
Improvement or no?
That's kind of what I was getting at, it seems like we have character clones and nobody really notices. Erina x Takumi and Souma x Rindou both get me hard because it's like selfcest except not gay.
Remember when you use to look forward to Souma knocking the shit out of her in a Shokugeki?
Too bad it'll never happen or feel as rewarding when he does so in the manga due to their buddy buddy relationship now.
No they're like opposites in cooking
Megumin tries to make her customers comfortable
Tsukasa literally doesn't fucking care because he's that confident in the quality of the food itself.
>not waiting for Azami to swoop in and mindbreak her
>not waiting for the training arc where Souma thinks about something other than his cooking because a friend is in danger
>not waiting for a climactic shokugeki showdown for the school
>not waiting for him to
give her the pb+j squid
I got what I wanted
Everything else is gravy
Funny, I always thought of him as overlapping more with Nikumi's character more than Souma.
>not waiting for Azami to swoop in and mindbreak her
I'm expecting something like that on this arc. Erina is obviously being touted as the rebels' pillar this whole time, so there will have to be a point when THAT happens and she's either temporarily converted or just paralyzed and shaken by fear, and they need to solve things without her then bring her back to reality, which will also serve as Erina finding her resolve and making the decision to break ties with Azami once and for all.
It's just too cliche not to happen.
>haughty blond diner boy is secretly nice but puts on a mask in front of other haughty rich spoiled kids to blend in
>playful red haired elite girl gives no fucks, sees through the mask immediately and tries at every opportunity to unmask him
I wouldn't mind reading this.
Man still meh like at this point i don't give a shit if he has a match with her now.
Before i wanted her to get so BTFO and with Souma acting like a smug fag like always but even more so since she use to always shit talk him from the beginning.
The ending to this manga will literally be G Gundam
>Azami takes an isolated Erina and brainwashes her to be the ultimate cooking/tasting machine
>Soma faces her down, Megumi tells him to communicate his feelings through his dish
>Erina eats it, is freed from Azami's whammy unconsciously saying
>Shokugeki Love Love
Peanut Butter Squid
So what would be femSouma's conflict with Azami then? I'm thinking that Azami's education didn't have the same effect as with Erina, instead they became so disillusioned with cooking itself due to all the shitty food and the obsession of the high-class world, that femSouma fell into a rut where she abuses her cooking prowess just to have fun and abuse others, not maliciously like Erina but using it as their own personal playground to watch people squirm just to see what happens.
Like for example, she takes an interest in maleErina not because of their cooking, but because of that mask he wears, so she uses cooking as a setting to try and force it off her. The endgame would be him inspiring her to find her own cooking and enjoy it for its own sake, not because making good food produces otherwise entertaining results.
nah mate, I'd mash her potatoes and toss her salad every fucking day, but her hand is still shit. good thing that's not a dealbreaker for me since I don't have a hand fetish and it's other things that get me hard.
>argues about the wrong thing
>gets called out for being a retard
>n-no u so assblasted xd
Probably just what they're used to eating + occasion.
You'd be incredibly surprised at how much people can eat if they feel like it
Anyway yeah it looks more like a party platter, it's not really presented as a personal dish
Sawashiro because she's good with sporty qts
Met a guy the other day who's studying to be a chef, he told me he's seen this anime and has actually tried making 2 of the dishes in it before. I might see him again this weekend, should I get him to make something and take pics to post here or is that not something that you guys do in these threads?
Personally if I had a dallop of that sour vegetable the chinks use for really oily dishes I'd probably be able to eat as much as would fit in my stomach
Then feel sick and unhungry for dinner sure.
I've always thought they would have a shokugeki with some ambiguous condition like "The loser does whatever the winner says" and both go with the intent to win and ask the other for marriage.
Nah he was already fan, it was just a weird coincidence. I met him through a friend, and I guess on weekends they often go over to that guy's house and he makes food for everybody that chips in.
He told me all that he's tried making so far are the gotcha pork roast and the chaliapin donburi though, he's only seen the first season of the anime and nothing else though because he always "binge watches" stuff on CR.
>Erina becomes 1st seat, Soma is eternal 2nd
>Challenges Erina for her seat every chance he gets
>loses 99/99 times
>He says fuck it, challenges Erina to a shokugeki for the right to marry her
>finally wins because muh cooking for love
>Erina actually had some hidden condition like "if i win 100 times you'll have to serve me food forever" or something like that
Why are all the judges in this episodes (besides Doujima) former 2nd seats? Not 1st, not 3rd or lower, all four of them are exactly 2nd. If being made of sex means you finish 2nd, then Erina will have to finish as runner-up to Souma.
Isshiki was only ranked 7th though before Azami kicked him out, she was 6th. Did we ever find out how the new ranks are given when empty spots open up from third years graduating?
He doesn't cook for good OR evil, he cooks for friendship and youth. Seeing as how there's a whole lot of fucking friendship going on around here, that's gonna make his cooking go full umami.
Why don't they, just buy umami? Just boil some umami, put in some braised umami covered in granulated umami, and then pour it out over a plate of umami?
that's what the judges seem to want, anyways
>Not just putting umami sauce on your steak
It's like they don't even want to be first seat
Ever heard of this stuff? It's literally umami powder, but there's a catch. It's just MSG, which doesn't have a flavor on its own. All it does is take whatever other flavors are in the dishes you add it to and make those flavors even tastier. America has launched a smear campaign against it for decades but it's still widely used in asia. Well not this brand, but MSG additives in general.
Just use the Yukihira-style secret menu™ umami sauce!
The actual science seems to be built on the idea of naturally-occurring MSG compared to "reverse engineered" chemically-produced MSG that goes into most foods, because of something about the length of molecular chains or something. MSG is the sodium salt of glutamate, which is an amino acid, and those apparently make chains together naturally in proteins. Just using chemical processing to manufacture it from scratch doesn't produce those, that's all fact. The murky part is why having chains is good and why not having them is bad, all that is pseudo-science at best with no real concrete, well-established, easily reproducible, and unambiguous results.
One thing that does seem to be certain though is that even if there IS some bad side effects to it, it's very minimal, would take ages to actually affect anything, and you're more likely to ruin your health in a myriad of other ways. That tidbit's been covered up and slandered, though.
Yeah, the whole issue originally came up because it was widely used in chinese restaurants, which people were gettting sick from, so they used MSG as a scapegoat to get people to eat american mass-produced food more instead of chinese food. Obviously, it was just the standard of cooking and health code practices that were going into those restaurants that made people sick. I remember hearing about this one place in my neighborhood that got shut down 25ish years ago because they got caught using cat meat. That location never really recovered since, it's been like a dozen other things.
It's not just using exotic meat, it's that they're intentionally skirting the law and catching stray cats in the area to throw into their food. If that's the kind of unclean practices they engage in with their ingredients, imagine all the other horribly disgusting and unclean practices they have.
Old pic related.
Ah ok now I see the problem
Yeah no, at least here in China if you eat at tiny little restaurants you need to find the health inspection flyer on the wall or know the place very well
That or go to a higher-end place, those are almost always clean
It's the health code sign, if you go into ANY restaurant anywhere in America they are all legally bound to have theirs posted in the front window. The best one is A, and 99% of all places have that, means that they've been examined and they run a clean shop. Stuff like staff washing their hands, no rotten food, regularly washing their equipment, etc. You will rarely ever see B, and that's usually grounds for instant deal breaker for most customers. I've never even seen a C in my life, and I can't imagine how they would possibly score that low and remain in business.
Mark my words, the last chapter will be Erina and Souma having a cooking battle in Restaurant Yukihira in place of his dad, who is sitting with souma's friends, former classmates, the tootsuki alumni, etc who are all there packing out the restaurant celebrating. The final page will be Erina and Souma both presenting a close-up dish on one hand towards the reader with a huge grin and exclaiming "osomatsu!" in tandem with a shared speech bubble.
Will this season manage to cover Stagiare too? There were so many great moments in that two-part arc.
We've only got 2 battles left in the election finals with 7 episodes left, of course we will. If we're lucky, we might even get the Autumn Leaf Viewing to introduce the remainder of the E10.
Speaking of, this episode had a distinct lact of Smug Eizan seeing things go just as keikaku, before Yukihira turned the tables on him. We got to see him be surprised after, but not with a shit-eating grin beforehand. Damn shame.
calling it now
Episode 7 Hayama vs Ryou and bitchtits being worst girl
Episode 8 buildup to the final, everybody's training, first part of the actual final
Episode 9 final ends, reactions, wrap up of the arc, teaser of the next arc
Episode 10 explaining the stagiaire, Souma and Hisako, brief looks into other characters
Episode 11 Shino's part 1
Episode 12 Shino's part 2
Episode 13 return to tootsuki, Souma accepting 2nd years' challenges, autumn leaf viewing
The series focuses the most on former first and second seats when it comes to alumni. And I guess the second seats are just more available. I'm pretty sure they did invite Shinomiya, but he was too busy.
>I'm pretty sure they did invite Shinomiya, but he was too busy.
And also not interested. He only was willing to participate in the stagiaire if they sent him an election finalist, remember? So if he was gonna judge, it'd probably only be for the final round, and the alumni were only brought in for the semifinals. There's no way he'd lose valuable time setting up his new branch just for the semifinals.
They have more than enough material to pace 6 episodes for the next 2 battles if they did as they did in the first season. It's just a matter of how they decide to allocate and stretch.
Working with Hisako could be two episodes if they paced it decently. It's 5 chapters.
Ending the season with meeting the Elite Ten would be terrible since they don't do anything.
I guess it depends on if they think they can get a S3 or not, it would be a typical and expected stunt to pull to set up a bit of hype for the next season, since it introduces several interesting characters and reveals more into the depth of the power structure right at the end. That's a classic move.
I think the odds of S3 are more tied to how people have been taking this one than to what's to come in the future, I was disappointed at this being one cour because I thought that most of it being tournament shit would turn too many people off and not justify financing another one.
Anyone's got a stitch of this?
Yeah, that or it could happen right now, she's E10 and she is still really terrified of Azami/possibly able to get brainwashed again and the guy is enough of a cheating fuck to rig things to force her to if he felt inclined
>Getting hyped for anything Megumi related
She even killed the end of the last chapter when Rindou appeared. Tsukuda got it right when he cut out Yoshino and Yuki when they grouped up with dog and Alice.
Man i wanted to her to completely submit to him after he defeats her in one and eats out all her words from the beginning and how she lied and almost got him kicked out from the start.
Then they can be buddies or whatever than.
Souma focusing on something like that would be out of character
i laughed a lot.
They certainly blush to the scent of meat a lot.
This guy. Hes one of those people.
Gin is a better girl than most of the other girls.
Gin is a resource I hope we see more of.
I wasn't even talking about chest size, didn't even realize that til just now. I meant their personalities and their roles as characters in the series. They could swap the body types between them and I'd still pick the first two.
How shallow of her.
Good grief, what a cutie.
I mean Doujima of course.
hey /sns/, do you think chicken confit would go well with
Normally I'd think the acidity would cut through the fat and the sweetness would complement the chicken's salty flavors, but I'm worried that viscosity would be an textural conflcit. I'd use fried chicken instead, but I want to serve it as bite-sized cubes which can't be done with the more flavorful leg meat unless I pre-braise it, pick it, make a terrine of it and then fry it, which seems like a fuck-ton of work
>Just dreamed Megu was my girlfriend
>Woke up covered in sweat probably
>The realisation that it can never possibly be real has virtually killed me inside
Tsukuda confirmed that a big part of Souma's role in the election was changing how the students in the school saw him post his entry speech, and he mentioned Erina in particular. She doesn't start to tolerate, much less like him as a person for a good while after, but after the election she does respect his cooking, though she won't tell him that.
Then yeah, with current pacing, I guess the season would end around 120, which would include the leaf viewing.
We'll know ahead of time if WSJ lists voice actors and designs for the E10 a few weeks before the end. If not, they might slow down the pacing during stagiaire.
He babbled on twitter in Japanese of course. Often about splatoon.
But he used to talk a little more than he should have. I think an editor told him to clam up some. The stuff about the election was from a thing he did in jump festa.
One of my favorites from his twitter was when someone asked him about the seating arrangements for the first years at the leaf viewing and he explained.
"For starters, Erina seats in the center, Alice tries to sit by her side but Hisako interferes.
Erina makes eye contact with Megumi and she offers her a seat.
She intended to thank Souma but he was talking loudly with Takumi so it was hard to say anything.
Hayama didn't care and Mimasaka really likes corners."
The pacing flexibility is fine, it'd be a bit faster than S1 pacing but that was pretty slow but adaptation standards to begin with. Which is fine, but they can make room where they need to, and they'd do it for that if there was a S3 in the works.
>The pacing flexibility is fine
It's not. Sure, S1 was a little slow, but S2 has been too fast. They've been cutting where they can.
The autumn viewing isn't so great that it's worth keeping over extra rushing through one of the best arcs in the series.
I think it's because they expected this to go 2 cours instead of 1. If they have 24 episodes to work with then the pacing will be as good as S1. But unfortunately that's not the case
I need hate sex doujins between these two
She probably likes being dominated.
She did vote for Ryou over Hayama since that dish put her in her place.
That's a fucking Code Geass hand if I've ever seen one.
I get that you want me to feel sorry for you, but you can't garner my sympathy with memetext.
Regardless, you don't need to have read the manga to know Souma didn't beat Hayama at least.
And frankly the manga (and the anime) telegraph Hayama's victory very strongly.
It's easy in foresight too. There's some stuff that's hard to predict in the manga, and an awful lot that isn't.
I sure as hell didn't see Azami coming and shaking everything up, though I knew Erina had family troubles, especially because when monologuing about her past in the drama cd she never mentioned her parents at all.
But then there's people who honestly thought Souma was going to beat Tsukasa. There was no need to wait for hindsight to feel superior to them.
Correct. The tie was unpredictable. No one reading the manga could have called that. Animefags actually might thanks to the OP, though they probably won't. Hayama winning the election was not. It was heavily foreshadowed.
Will she repay him with her virginity
while holding the knife?
No way, that's her whole selling point. The big tit market is already cornered anyways. She's one of the few flat girls with adorable hair and that hnng voice and the derpy tongue-faces.
However, I would like it if she won or if some other girl like Meat or Hisako won.
Alice is still best girl and miracle of the universe.
No. Hayama has been foreshadowed since the beginning and it's one of the key themes of SnS.
Paraphrasing: "The key to becoming a good chef is finding a woman you want to give all of your food to"
Hayama: "I fight for Jun."
That's flimsy as fuck and by that logic Ryo could have won too. Hell, Soma himself has that same reason too, he's been chasing after Erina since he took her test.
Besides the REASON hayama won was pretty flimsy too. Every dish was more or less on the same level by the judge's own admission.
Stop pretending that you knew it would turn this way or that there was no way it could go another.
Literally anus tongue is the only one that has a chance of winning now. It's a fucking outrage. I was rooting so hard for Megu and then the author just went "LOL, BACK BENCHED".
>ryou could have won too
>people still pushing this stupid ship
look, even if he and alice are a thing they clearly haven't matured enough to actually do anything about it
so shut up
oh god YES
Let's talk about the best breakfast dish
One of the nicer unexpected things about this manga was Hisako completely turning around on Souma and then acting as an intermediary between him and Erina
The Stagiaire arc in general was based
And jun still sees hayama as her child so I don't see where you're going with this. Stop pretending a sob story and a woman in his life is confirmation of victory, every one of the participants in the final has a "woman" and Hayama doesn't particularly want to feed her his food.
Even if she sees him like that, HIS motivation is Jun. You cannot sit here with a straight face and tell me Kiba has any kind of motivation like that, no matter how much you wanna project on your little ship.
His motivation is not feeding jun anything.
You can't treat Soma's dad's words as ironclad proof and simultaneously forget half of them. Soma definitely wants to feed Nakiri.
Hayama's victory was equally likely as anyone else's and acting like it was a sure thing all along to put down "animeonly fags" is pretty disingenuous.
When you have two equally matched opponents, the one with motivation will win. That is his edge. He even explained it to Hisako, who had no real motivation besides being Erina's buddy. Kiba has no real motivation. What is his motivation? Being edgy? He can't use the "poor" angle, Hayama had a shittier childhood than him. What does he have, really?
Hayama doesn't want to feed her but he wants to prove everyone that their combination of both her studies and his cooking is the best, he keeps repeting that shit. So stills cooks with having Jun on his mind.
He's wanted to feed her since the first time she lied about his food
That is literally one of his defining motivations, to get her to eat some of his cooking and admit it's good
Yes, that's nice. Still not really what Jouichiro said and not remotely such proof of his winning that you get to act smug about knowing about it. Especially since they don't really double down on Hayama's feelings until the training/cooking for the finals.
I mean his dish wasn't even better than everyone else's, it's was just more his "specialty".
He is the only person in the most prestigious cooking school in Japan that just wants to make nice food that anyone can eat. Or, he was until he converted everybody to Somaism.
I think I'd give that comment another 10 minutes. It's still a bit pink in the middle.
He outranks her because she's never tried to move up yet, the manga has never been subtle about her legitimately being a better cook than Souma as it stands.
Plus Souma admitted
