It'd be good if this episode gives focus on Mirage/Freyja interacting. I think Freyja could be a great catalyst in helping Mirage overcome her insecurities, which we already know Freyja is excellent at doing.

I'm going to put it real simple as to why Hayate is bad for Mirage and how the romantic triangle is laid out.

Hayate to Mirage is portrayed as a weakness. Instead of giving her strength to flourish, Hayate's role in Mirage's plot makes her insecure and negative.

Hayate to Freyja is portrayed as a strength. Hayate is used as a driving force for Freyja to become stronger and face things head on.

That's the difference in the dynamic of the triangle. Mirage does not benefit from having feelings for Hayate at all. It's only holding her back and actually making her character development worse.

Hayate and Freyja's relationship is portrayed as being so strong and full of understanding, that the "conflicts" they have to throw at them are all external and not having to do with their personalities or personal problems.

NakaMegu has very little range, sure she improved by the time that movies rolled around, but her range is very short. I remember that at one time someone removed all of the instrumentation for Diamond Crevasse and it actually sounded better. I think that Kanno even pointed out that Raka lacked variety because the character and voice was too immature.

Unlike Ranka, Minmay didn't have any opponents nor was there an environment of great expectations from idols.

All this Minmay talk reminds me of how much her character was developed. She started out pretty naive (probably a bit autistic) but became increasingly mellow and mature towards the end.

I can't think of any other singers who received that kind of character development.
Most that happens is that they start out optimistic in Episode 1 then encounter suffering and danger but ultimately in the final episode they "pull through" and go back to being happy. Except it's literally back to square one instead of any worthwhile change.
