Basically a different story but with Berserk characters. It's basically The Lord Of The Rings in which Casca = the ring. It's pointless bullshit.

-Guts will go anywhere and do anything to protect Casca
This is NOT a story that should take 18 goddamn years to tell.

The 12th episode was confirmed to cover the end of Guts and Mozgus's fight, chapter 169. So most likely the 12th episode will rush through that and end with Griffith appearing (pic related, chapter 175). So there won't be any berserker armor.

I think we can all agree that the directing, editing, and sound effects are abysmal. Everything else is passable at the least.

Are you fucking retarded? A ton of lore and world building has been since the Lost Children arc, up until the last fucking chapter that just came out. The Conviction arc was also one of the best arcs in Berserk.

All that shit you labeled as "pointless filler" has contributed to establishing lore and world building. Plus, this is an EPIC adventure, do you consider shit like the cyclops or the hydra or sirens in the Odyssey filler too?

I will admit that the weariness from age has come out in Miura a bit over the last several volumes. So many panels of each character just saying one line just to contribute, multiple comic relief characters in a single panel, etc. Still, it's not entirely out of place — if you've been fucking following the story you would realize that a LOT has changed since the beginning. Guts continues to change as a character, he goes through several transformations hence the several different physical designs he has. The light-heartedness of his group is clearly a phase, and it fits, because the rest of the world is actually becoming increasingly darker: Falconia is a monument to the highest form of megalomania and deception. The only way to fight it, against fate itself, is with Magick, aka blatant real-time retconning of life itself, which is almost what laughter is, in a philosophical sense. In a way, the story has become more cynical over time, more subtle.

If Miura lives long enough to finish without rushing (most likely won't) then we have a long way to go, with a new phase coming up for the group without a doubt (Casca and the Elf King, etc). If you don't like it after Lost Children, the story was never really for you, or you speed read it and got overstimulated by the eclipse scene, and maybe in a year or two you will start to see how I make perfect sense.

Only scene so far that felt kinda good and picture by picture compared to the manga was the Guts vs Kushans scene but it might have been Susumu Hirasawa's soundtrack that skewed me over.

Am not sure if I am the only one but the shitty CG isn't my main problem and I actually thought that many AnH scenes were pretty intense. What kills this new series is that the scenes just don't have any impact for me, it isn't just the looks, it's the pacing, the presentation, music, whatever I don't even know.
I am not even a manga purist or anything, I liked the first Berserk anime and even many parts of the movies despite all the stuff both of these adaptions skipped. But the directing of the anime is kinda shit. Even the scenes I loved in the manga fell void and bland here.

Almost all the arcs are about droves of faceless people dying too. There is a tonal shift but that's probably because its setting up a downfall. It just feels like its been lighthearted for a long time because of how long we were stuck on the boat.
