Shin Sekai Yori, I was bored for a fair bit of it but the ending just blew me away and made me see the whole thing in a different light.

I liked the premise at the beginning but it got kind of mediocre at parts and then of course there was the endless eight. But the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya or more specificaly this scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuCWMjFygPo completely changed my opinion and now I want season 3.

Eupho is one which the more I thought about it the more I liked it. Eventually I gave in and rewatched it, I'd consider it an all time favourite now. Very excited to see it continued, hope the story gets a satisfying end. Things typically go the other way around for me though, I tend to cool down on a lot of series I enjoyed while watching. Rakugo, Shirobako, Kyousougiga to name some recent ones which I liked a whole lot but didn't stick.

Hyouge Mono, I got to like episode 24 of it and really disliked it, but after becoming more well versed in Buddhist/Zen philosophy I've really started to understand it.

I really need to give it a rewatch and see what I missed, I thought it was just a really boring historical anime.

Haruhi, with the broadcast order it was a bit odd, but it clicked after.

Almost every anime movie.
Aside from a couple Ghibli movies and all of Kyoani's movies, anime movies bore me and I start waiting for it to end. However looking back on it I think "oh it wasn't so bad".

Zen Buddhism is highly influenced by Taoism, another eastern philosophy, which aims at a constant present moment awareness unimpeded by thought or concepts.

A major part of Hyouge Mono is the Japanese Tea ceremony which is heavily influenced by the simplicity of Zen Buddhism and the emphasis on uninterrupted flowing action.

You don't absolutely need to know anything about it to enjoy Hyouge Mono but it definitely enhances it.

I really loved Hyouge Mono for about 10 or so episodes, but eventually the novelty of Sasuke's facial expressions wore off and the plot got dull once Nobunaga died. I dropped it at 25, but I'd like to pick it up again eventually because it had so much going for it and I can't really justify why I got bored.

Probably something like the first season of DRRR. When I watched it I just thought of it as not-Baccano.

The first half has some weird animations, some overbearing or underused characterizations that all pays off in the end of the second half.

No, I mean the context of when they are used. Yoko doesn't bounce like crazy at every scene like so many fanservice anime do. There's always a male gaze present when she bounces. She's also covered like a fucking nun when there's no need for any focus on her.

yoko's probably the most restrained fanservice girl in anime in proportion to the amount of skin shown on her.

I feel like Madoka was better on the rewatch. Sure, you lose a lot of the shock value and plot twists, but the appreciation of what is presented is deeper since you have an understanding of what's going on. This goes double for Rebellion.
