That's not the point of that image, the point of it is it's a collection of anime that people who claim to be "big mecha fans" but that is all they have seen and think it's the pinnacle of mecha. I used to follow 2 best friends, where the Woolie in question is from, and even when I knew jack shit about mecha I knew he was a poser when he claimed to be a huge fan of mecha.

The issue is that all of those shows are generally all the mecha casuals know about or are willing to talk about.

If you see someone mention those series it's like if someone came on /a/ and started talking about how they're not a big anime fan but have watched Naruto, Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon and Cowboy Bebop.
