ITT: real autism
Did the school really put him in charge of being a pedantic asshole? Japan is worse than Germany.
Even if a haircut isn't useful, Harada has serious issues with authority and he could really stand to learn some discipline. He's a complete brat right now and I'd hate to see him get his way every time just because he can pitch alright. I was actually hoping the coach would stick to his guns and not let him play, or even threaten to kick him off the team.
The coach is a dick. He doesn't deserve any recognition and I'm happy Harada didn't give him any. What adult grabs a 12-year old by the head because of a fucking haircut?
Maybe it's because I'm not knowledgeable about japanese sports, but he would have been fired on the spot if it had occured where I live.
In western society, teachers are increasingly laughing stock who do not deserve any respect. This is because parents crack down on teachers who do anything the students could consider troublesome. They're going as far bitching at teachers to no end if they give their kids even just bad grades.
How does someone earn respect if he has to respect the kids more than they respect him, and the kids have no reason at all to pay any respect?

Where do you live, anon?
superior pitcher coming through
>How does someone earn respect
By being a good teacher. One that doesn't make childish demands. I've never seen angry parents yell at teachers before and kids generally got along well with them. I'm sorry your experience doesn't match up.
I never complained about unrealistic characters. Also, I like that he's realistic, I just think the show gets a bit too carried away in showing that and it makes me kind of lose interest.
He immediately agreed with the Coach's practice regiment and change in his playstyle when advised. Hes more than willing to comply on areas of the coach's expertise. If its an unreasonable, unrelated expectation theres no reason to comply without explanation. Harada is behaving entirely reasonably.
and i was expecting a comfy slice of life
He tries to follow his baseball related commands and is disciplined and focused at it. No talking while running, no cellphones when you practice or anything that can distract you, be serious about it. He didn't complain when he was told to get off the mound and go catch some balls. He usually complaints about some things but also has a point in his observations but everyone disregards him because he doesn't suck everyone's dick or isn't everyone's bitch, like apparently you're supposed to be if you're new in the baseball team. Takumi is strongly against bullying and most of the times he's being a brat it's because someone's forcing him to do something illogical in his head. You don't fix any brat's attitude by forcing some kind of superiority hierarchy, you fix them by trying to understand their reasoning and figure a different way to deal with them. Beating the crap out of them and instigating fear might work with some kids but it will have the opposite effect in others. The old man literally explained this.
A buzz cut is part and parcel of being on the baseball team in Japan. It's basically part of the uniform. Harada being a special snowflake puts him at odds with the rest of the team who all have buzz cuts or similarly short haircuts. If he's not willing to do something as trivial as this, it calls into question (in the eyes of those around him) his devotion to the sport and his ability to be a team player.
I'm not defending the coach, and I'm not specifically endorsing the act of getting a haircut. It could be anything, but that's not the point. This is Japan and the nail that sticks out gets hammered down.
In general Harada is self-centered and doesn't seem to see or care about how his actions affect those around him. Him playing baseball influences his frail brother and it influences Gou away from his studies (not that I'm saying that these are necessarily bad things), and this haircut issue impacts both the strength of his team and his relationships with his teammates. Again, this is Japan, and he really needs to learn how to read the atmosphere, as they say.
>Him playing baseball influences his frail brother and it influences Gou away from his studies
So, he should stop playing baseball altogether or move to the opposite corner of the world all by himself so that he wouldn't be a bad influence for anyone? Maybe to the moon then, because there will always be someone around him?
And he has no issues with being kicked out of the team. It's the other guys who are forcing him to get his haircut because they want him on the team.
No, my point is that his choices will always affect others, and that managing those influences is necessary for social harmony. As it is, he just shrugs it off like it's none of his business. Maybe it's not, but either way it's no surprise that others get upset when he doesn't consider their feelings.
Subaru fits in perfectly in this thread. Go back to plebbit you filthy fucking MP100 scum.
No one self identifies with him nor is defending his attitude in general. We're just saying that he was right in this particular case. I'm sorry you're too retarded to understand that.
>Behavioral: inappropriate social interaction, poor eye contact, compulsive behavior, impulsivity, repetitive movements, self-harm, or persistent repetition of words or actions
>Developmental: learning disability or speech delay in a child
>Cognitive: intense interest in a limited number of things or problem paying attention
>Psychological: unaware of others' emotions or depression
>Also common: anxiety, change in voice, sensitivity to sound, or tic
Subaru fits almost all of these categories.
I was in a thread the other day and I shit you not tons of anons were defending that autist posting shit like
>people like you with NORMAL lives could never understand subaru's pain
>Subaru is to complex for you guys
>Subaru is a deconstruciton of Anon's which is why he works so well
It felt like /r9k/ somehow got into early 2000s deviant art and turned into a form of pure digital autism
