Got caught in the normiecraze for it when the anime got released and fell in love with the world, the mysteries and the 3DMG fights.

I stuck through the political arc but this is the last fucking straw, I've never seen a mangaka wank to a character so much like Isayama has to such a terrible character like Armin.

I applauded him when it seem that all the wanking was so his heroic death would mean more, but in the end he decided against something that would make the MC go through an inner turmoil, cause a rift between the kids and the commanding officers, force Eren to abandon the SL and maybe see the warriors' side of the story only for a pointless filler fight and to all end with Armin being regarded as the greatest hero that has ever existed.

It's not just us not liking the outcome. The writing is objectively awful and Isayama wasted great opportunities. Armin's sacrifice would've been beautiful and meaningful, EM losing Armin would've changed them completely and maybe even their loyalty and goals.
