He loses pretty often man. He's just stomping around the middle/lower B-Rank Teams because he is legitimately that good. Just about every A-Rank ace will do as much. We see what happens when he fights against people much closer to his skill level (Murakami, Kageura, Ninomiya) and he either gets matched really close or is straight up outclassed where Nino is concerned.

He beats out the B-Rank scrubs on Ouji's squad but has a hard time doing the same against Ouji himself. That panel you're complaining about is him barely blocking Ikoma's max range Kogetsu Senku and getting a small cut at the end of it. What about that is contrived, really?

Were you expecting him to take a grievous wound in the first 3 minutes of the fight? Because I don't think any team's ace (if they can legitimately call themselves an ace) would be so easy to take out.

Well yeah, he's been training to fight far longer than any of these people have. He doesn't need a Black Trigger when he's actually more skilled than them. I don't know what about this makes him a Gary Stu. People who have more experience in combat and more training are generally going to beat people with less.

Especially when he's shown to lose, is outclassed by people currently in Border, and has only been getting clean sweeps because he's that much better than the middle tier competition and is getting support from his teammates.

Hell, if him winning is a problem you could say every Ace is the Gary Stu of their team. It's the Ace's job to go against the odds and pull kills/points out of their asses for their team. That's what their job is, and why enough B-Rank teams consider 'supporting and protecting the ace' a viable combat strategy.

Not just training. Yuma spent a few years fighting full time in a war, with no bail out, on top of training before that. Most of the people he's fought have probably been in Border less time than he spent fighting in that war, been doing it basically as a part time job, dealt with no worse than a few trion soldier raids, and have had bail out available the entire time. That's a substantial experience gap.
