It has both dramatic and comedic moments. You can tell whether the series is being serious or parodical because the tone of a scene changes accordingly. The humor also frequently involves abrupt shifts between tone. Don't know how the series could be interpreted in any other way.

Nah not just the ones I read but there are a few, for example Boku no Hero academia isn't one, I read it but it's not exactly out of the pile of shit that is Battle Shounen. Some exceptions would be HxH, Houshin Engi, Hokuto no Ken perhaps, I don't read a whole lot of battle shounen to really know a whole lot of examples.
