The average SoL is miles above capeshit. Anything is besides maybe fanfiction. The lore is so unbelievably stupid and convoluted that you have to abandon all forms of logic in order to follow it in the long-term. It constantly contradicts itself through various retcons and asspulls that depend on which author is doing it. Even long-running shounen fighting manga maintain a level of consistency. You don't see Naruto suddenly revealing himself as a member of the Akatsuki because the new author felt like doing it.

Although, they can be fairly good when they're put in an alternate universe that has rules that they stick to, like the MCU. In their raw format, there is no reward to following them that you couldn't get from some other source.

It's not really a problem of being capeshit in itself, it's a problem of how medium formed in America and constant passage of characters from one creative team to another.

"Battle shonens maintaining level of consistency" (lel) is largely due to them being creator owned. While some authors in America can decide "eh, I have a story for 6 issues about Moon Knight" and make sexiest thing no mangaka came even close to that year.
