Why Supernatural is going 12 seasons? Buffy was better and only lasted 6 seasons.

Later seasons are more meh/bad than good,with some good episodes.But last season was on par with S1-5 and had my 2nd favorite episode of the series so who knows,it could be a fluke or maybe they're getting their shit together now.
