Well when I said Rem can see signs of it I mean that as a way to justify Rem's part in that heart to heart they were having. I meant that over the past few days from her perspective Toyota has been very on edge, so it makes sense that it played out how it did.

Could it have been summed up quicker? Yeah, probably. Would that necessarily make the episode better? Maybe, I could see that being the case. Would that make the anime adaption as a whole better? No I think you have to pace the suffering and we've been on a long ride. A long healing session was overdue and the 20 minutes was forgivable and went by very fast because of it. The beginning was okay, I mean the whole breakdown was finally there, and the attempt of trying to put him back up on feet was ok for Rem. But then it was all so cringey. I didn't expected a real drama to happen, but still, it sucked.

He saw everybody die, and they'll all die if he doesn't do anything. That's a reason enough to continue, the story doesn't need the muh love and caring to prevent him from giving up... When the White Whale, gluttony itself, ate Rem, it erased her from existence and all knowledge of her was erased.
This meant that even when Subaru used Return through death and came back to his save point Rem was still gone from existence and memory.
He is literally insane during this episode and talking to himself. Rem doesn't exist, didn't confess, and is dead.
She is going to get him back to Emilia through a huge trail of trials without her doing anything of substance and then he will say "It's all thanks to Rem" Emilia is going to say... "Who's Rem?" and she will disappear for good with a massive mindfuck to everyone

The shit that was that episode was unforgivable. It's just not acceptable to have a 20 minute dialouge in the same location in a TV episode. Like holy fuck was it bad. Previous episodes being pretty good made it even worse.

I can't stand Shinbo's directing. So many random cuts and angles because he loves cutting the storyboard up into pieces and rearranging them to give his own "style".

I'm so disappointed in Shaft as a whole ever since they finished Madoka, a good original anime. So what do they do next? Milk the Monogatari series even more while making some the usual adaptations because fuck it. They fucking suck and shinbo doesn't give a shit anymore.

what are you talking about, one click to the end of the time bar and it's only 5 sec long. This show is well below SOA shit tier now. They're dragging it out longer than it needs to just for the sake of filling up an episode/season. Forced drama in every scene. I've stayed with this show for this long but newer episodes are on fast forward and skip around shit dialogue.
