Comedy in Barakamon was mostly misunderstandings precisely because Junon Boy's life differed so much from the villagers, they weren't set up for every situation but there was a lot of them. From top of my head there was also shit like the nurse scene, the old ladies conversing in weird dialect, Kawafuji being stopped by villagers after his first encounter with Naru and frankly majority of Fujo's scenes - they were all misunderstandings.
Barakamon was far more comfy indeed, but it had very similar comedy to that of Handa-kun.

This is my AOTS so far, ED of the season too, and it could have been my OP of the season if it wasn't for Shokugeki and Thunderbolt Fantasy

I loved Barakamon to death but somehow the first episode let me drop it.
I am not really into drama cd shows and comedians just outright being imprisoned in a single room while trying to be funny and cracking jokes and comedy.
Spin-offs can really take on many different forms.
