Well you see anon, I'm fairly certain none of the rape is talked about from 1-8 and I'm less certain but still believe that cheating doesn't happen from 1-8 either. Most of 1-8 is fantastic because it focuses on the main guy and his relationships, it has the soul crushing rejection after almost getting the girl he wants, then an expected love interest in the girl who helped him, and then the rest of it until the end of 8 is both of them discovering their feelings and getting together. It's a great read.

Honestly I think whenever a heroine 'wins', its never satisfying. Foremost it obviously disappoints everyone who wasn't rooting for that character. More importantly, it invalidates all of the buildup(see: baiting) by the author. I don't think its categorically impossible to have a satisfying ending, but in most cases the ending is going to be a lower point than the rest of the story.

I don't think you understand how serialization works. Considering no one is really talking about shoujo trash, every mangaka wants their series to last as long as they can. It's obvious that after the guy gets the girl, the series isn't going to be interesting anymore so the confession is purposely delayed until the ending. Because the author wants and thinks their series will live a long time, they don't have a suitable ending planned or have a prescripted one that they adapt the story to. So when the time comes and either the mangaka gets bored with the series or the publisher decides to stop serializing, the ending is half-hearted and not very well planned out because either of time constraints and/or lack of motivation. This literally makes it so that very little shounen romance series have a in-depth and thought out satisfying ending and thats just how the scene works.
