That's the thing about the "Rei clone" archetype - it's not actually much like Rei II was in the show. Rei II was a bit withdrawn, but mostly was just "alien" in that she didn't know how to interact with people. "Rei clones" are just robots with no emotions (unless they have a bit more of a kuudere element to them).
