It's an anime about a bunch of pretty decent songs by Jin.
Basically it's about a bunch of people who each have somekind of an ability related to their eyes, one can freeze people, one can attract anyone to her eyes etc.
I can't even remember the goal of the anime, I think they were looking for one of the members of their gang or something.
There's actually a better plot under the main stuff where everyone with the eyes only gets them if he dies with another person, get stuck in a limbo and only one of them emerges, with the eyes granted to them by a cute snakegod girl who once had all of the eye abilities but lost them because of reasons, but actually the cute snakegod is one of the members of the gang who controls time and keeps turning time back because she wants to be with the gang forever.
And then there's the MC's gf who's father is an evil scientist guy who wants to control the eyes or time or something, and the gf tried to enter the limbo without bringing someone with her so she got stuck there, but in another time and dimension so the MC doesn't remember it.

So basically there's a lot of shit that can't really be conveyed in a 12 episode cash in that spends like 5 episodes being light heart'd shaft style conversation

The rebuilds yes. Only underage children who were born after the original think this is overhyped. This show changed how the west viewed anime and probably made it more mainstream instead of having to go to your local comic shop and buy a fansubbed VHS that's been copied about ten times so the quality was shit no matter how much you tweaked the tracking. NGE brought the anime explosion into the US in the late 90's early 2000's. Without it, we wouldn't have access to all these streaming sites that people can rip the subs off from and get current airing anime just a few hours after it aired in Japan.

Honestly, Lost Time Memory is the worst remix out of the those song. The singer lose his breath a lot with those chorus part. It's nowhere bad but there are better cover than this.

Watched this after it aired because I love Kagerou Daze, and computer Miku looked cute. 7/10 good soundtrack would listen all the time.

Definitely would have dropped this mid season due to weird pacing.

Not him, but it was shown on Toonami a long time ago. You're right though, it's nowhere near as popular in the west as that other anon makes it out to be. It was mostly an underground cult thing before the Rebuilds made it mainstream here.
