I felt a wave of depression hit me.

This is the end point of Guts' quest to find a way to defeat Griffith. Basically a monumental achievement so he can acquire the means to vanquish his foe.

And what do we get?
Guts sitting like a halfwit surrounded by like 10 little girls cracking jokes and acting cute.
And the wizards are all some dopey gnomes.
This is the crew that will help Guts defeat Griffith. A bunch of little girls and comedic sidekicks.

And last we saw Griffith (not too long ago) we had another interlude of cute girls bathing and being cute and arguing with each other.

And the manga Miura did to blow off some creative steam had a little girl piss on a burly man for nourishment.
