While i do think she cares about him, do remember it's not just Satella, but the witch of greed, who is much more fanatical about her love for him. I'm hoping they don't leave out the "i love you" when he tries to lure the whale the first time. I imagine the last episode will be something like this:

24 ends with Subaru being possessed and killed.

25 is a two parter, and starts out with a scene of him in the dark realm and Satella talking to him and we get to see that this happened each time he died.

Apparently Subaru also "sees" something when possessed which makes him understand why Betelgeuse acts like that, only for him to reply that he never hoped to have anyone understand him.

Maybe he'll use that information to drive Betelgeuse mad and kill him next time?

Why the fuck is Subaru friends with Garfiel?

-Just before they got attacked by White Whale, when Subaru asked Rem why she is following him to the extent, she answered [It's the order from Roswaal-sama to support you no matter what].

It made Subaru suspicious of Rem that she is doing everything just because she was ordered to do.

-You could notice even without sub, while Subaru was running for his life, he muttered [Rem! Please help me!], which was pretty savage.

-When he ranted about "You fail no matter what anyway" to Emilia, he really was talking about Emilia's failure, from which he felt pleasure for diverting Emilia's attention to him. It doesn't go long until he realize every rant was not really for Emilia, but for himself.

Anyhow, I've been thinking a bit about Rem's current role in the story, and how it's emphasized that Rem isn't actually strong. There's also the part where Subaru asks for a bit of Rem's courage. It strikes me that Rem isn't meant to just be some moeblob or secondary love interest who dies just for shock value, she's the example of heroism who inspires Subaru to better himself and be more like her. She's the guy who gives him his much needed peptalk and pushes him to do better.

In most series, that character would probably be a somewhat older man who the MC looked up to from the start.

So I read the pastebin spoilers, but I am slightly confused. Will Rem come back next time he dies and then be consumed by the bishop of gluttony after Subaru defeats the whale and Betelgeuse? The pastebin doesnt mention her jumping out of the wagon to save him, so I didnt know if this was a change they made in the adaptation

The biggest flaw was that everyone was a fucking psycho, god did everything for fun, Daiya did everything pretty much over a girl that had nothing to note of that was happening to her, the mc going psycho head bang.
