Animation wise this is better.

But Goku vs Freeza has much more going on thematically and overall. It is by far the best fight in the series. It is a fight for everything even more so than ever before.

Goku achieves the highest and most esteemed status of his race at the time against the being who exterminated his father and everyone else. He also comes to terms with and accepts his saiyan heritage.

After being an unstoppable force for basically the entire arc, Frieza has to finally come face to face with the legend he sought to destroy and get his karma for years of torture and abuse on the race he feared.


No fight in Dragon Ball has had such a thematic build up and its why people constantly claim its where the series should have ended. (Even if I don't really agree with that)

Omega Shenron was the best fight in dragon ball.

More like the most dragged out fight in shounen anime. Aside from Frieza fucking with Goku with his disc attack, there was nothing interesting about this fight.

Personally I found the build-up to this fight and him achieving Super Saiyan to be much more memorable.
