Namek. Saiyan saga shat on every major character from Dragonball and let us know that if you weren't a Saiyan, from here on out you were worthless. Nappa was forgettable. Goku vs Vegeta was the saving grace.
Namek let Vegeta grow as a character, gave Krillin and Gohan a bit of spotlight, gave us the Ginyu force, gave us Frieza, a villain that has roots in the series lore and a unique design, and was the one time Super Saiyan actually felt special.

The Saiyan arc was absolute shit. Raditz instantly shifted the series from the crazy strategies and signature moves of Dragonball to pure "h-hayai!" powerlevel bullshit, and half the arc was just everyone dropping like flies to Nappa. The Vegeta fight was alright, but got tedious when Vegeta turned Oozaru. Yajirobe getting to shine for a moment was nice, though.

Namek Saga. I liked the search for Dragon balls and the fact that there was actually 3 parties fighting each other which is different from the rest of the sagas. Also lots of different powers displayed (ginyu forces, telekinesis, kienzan, etc.)

Saiyan, Namek had far to much crap in-between the good stuff and it's even worse if you count the anime
