Not sure CGI will handle this scene properly.
Wait that's not even AT the tower m8 it comes way after!
I don't know why but seeing her like this get's my blood boiling, I guess the manga didn't really hit home despite the rape by birdman & all her friends dying the worst way possible
Griffith really really messed up someone's psychic
How many seconds of flashback Casca rape do you think will be in the next episode?
Well the hookers go their own way, with Nina leaving that group with her boyfriend. Azan goes on his own to report what happened at the tower. Farnese and Serpico leave but decide to follow Guts but Guts went his own way before they could join up. Same thing with Isidro, he wanted to follow Guts but wasn't with him when Guts and Casca stole that Kushan horse and left.
Well yeah. They go their own ways temporarily. Its a good note to end something on. No real cliff hanger but it leaves us with a feeling of accomplishment and the reader is eager for what comes next.
I don't think Casca will die before she gets her head fixed. Until then, its going to be smooth sailing for the Guts party. Afterwards, literally anything can happen. I doubt Casca will kill herself or even die at this point though. Guts and Casca's magic toddler will probably prevent that.
But she's a mermaid m8 I doubt she even has bones down there
Easily the most important panel from this chapter.
>The CGI in Berserk can handle anything properly except butchering the material
Its like you people don't even understand character arcs and story structure. Its too late to fall back into "everything is awful and will continue to be so for Guts until he dies and goes to hell and is absorbed by a mass of suffering souls until he loses all sense of self"
>not wanting Berserk to be grimdark
Maybe you've forgotten what you're reading.
Here's the thing. It has become apparent that something will have to get Guts back into the fight. Ever since he set off to find Casca Guts' arc has been about giving up his obsession with vengeance, and he's finally getting to the point where that's becoming realistic ( >>144672844 ). He has a new family, he even has a chance to get Casca back, and he's realizing that this could be his new reason for living.
That being said, we know that's not going to happen. It's obvious that the end game of the manga is Guts killing Griffith. One way or another, that's just what has to happen. Guts needs to go on a completely uninhibited rampage, sacrificing his body and his humanity, and be literally consumed (via the armor) by his berserker rage.
So that being said, how do we get there from where we are? Something needs to motivate Guts to get back into the fight. Obviously we're moving further away from that right now. Obviously it's not going to be his concern for the world at large, because he's never cared about that. Griffith needs to hit him where he lives.
There are two possible motives:
1. Vengeance. In this scenario, Griffith kills Casca. There's basically nothing else that Griffith could do to reignite Guts' thirst for vengeance. I mean, who cares if he kills Isidro or Schierke or something? That's not dramatic, not Shakespearean enough in its tragedy.
2. Heroism. Griffith levels some kind of impossible to ignore threat against Guts' new family, including Casca. Maybe he captures them, maybe he sends endless assassins in the night to kill them all. But Guts is forced to take the fight to Griffith.
Either could work, but the tone of the manga DOES seem to be shifting more toward the latter.
Meant to post this one.
Well, just so you know, he's PROBABLY gonna
sacrifice himself so that the others can eventually attain happiness, and never actually have peace himself. That would be the most thematically fitting, anyway.
This will happen except there will be 0 retards in the shot
>2. Heroism. Griffith levels some kind of impossible to ignore threat against Guts' new family, including Casca. Maybe he captures them, maybe he sends endless assassins in the night to kill them all. But Guts is forced to take the fight to Griffith.
That is probably what will happen. I think it might be more along the lines of Griffith's kingdom will come crumbling down due to the other Godhand and all the circumstances surrounding the place. Falconia being destroyed will probably be the catalyst for Guts to come and save everything. The Elf king would probably persuade Guts to do it or something along those lines
Berserk started grim as fuck. Then the Golden Age arc brought some levity to the series. The Eclipse really ruined that and it was plunged back into grimdark and hopeless territory. Things have stayed extremely grim in the world with the Tower of Conviction arc and the Kushan invasion and their methods being gruesome as fuck. Now that things have a glint of hope with Falconia being a "paradise" and Guts and co reaching Elfhelm, its time for shit to come crashing down again. Only this time, I think the people who will suffer the most are the blind sheep led by the white hawk. The story has a way of showing that people ignorant of things going on usually end up getting the short straw. The Band of Hawk was all ignorant of the warnings about Griffith and his behavior and look where it got them.
In any circumstance, I think Guts will only kill Griffith. He might have to kill Slan along the way but I think Skull Knight will take out the rest of the Godhand.
I don't think Guts is taking the Berserker armour all the way to the endgame. He'll probably get pushed all the way to the limit and do some kind of video game purification shit on it and clear its curse or just get a set that doesn't send him to the dark side, and the new armour will like retardedly good and take Miura a week to draw a panel.
Actually, I see the most interesting ending as one where there's no final conflict, or at least no final conquest. There's a philosophical argument to be made that Griffith has done bad things but is not evil, and a pragmatic argument to be made that everybody including Guts should just accept that the world is now best off with Griffith at the helm. Personally I think it would be amazing if Griffith and Guts just kinda buried the hatchet, met and discussed everything to the point where they fully understand each other, then let bygones be bygones.
The reason I know this won't happen is because of stuff like Griffith sending those dudes after Rickert, and because of Guts saying that Griffith will always want greater power.
Where can I pick up the manga where the anime currently is?
I'd rather just ask really nicely here than go hunt for it myself and miss getting the best source.
I kind of see an ulterior motive to Griffith ruling Falconia. At the same time I think its all a ruse and shit will go bad any second, I think he might be doing something to save all humanity. He met with the Idea of Evil. It told him that it exists and is perpetuated by humanity's dark emotions. It's the Idea of Evil because humanities negative emotions greatly outweighed those that were positive. I think that Griffith might be trying to bring humanity together to change the Idea of Evil. After all, Falconia is the only really safe place left on earth, everyone is happy there, Apostles aren't ruling people and being cruel to everyone and instead are serving humanity by serving Griffith, and humanity has never been so united. Maybe Griffith's dream is so incredibly noble, that instead of just having a nation to rule for himself, he wants a nation to rule for everyone.
I imagine if this is the case, the rest of the Godhand are going to be pretty fucking butthurt and will try to ruin everything. It'd be cool as fuck to see Guts, Griffith, and Skull Knight team up to take out the rest of the Godhand.
Guts will finally get sent back home to his time where he goes back to his job as a department store clerk and makes out with Casca's great great great etc granddaughter.
I never actually read that chapter because it was cut by Miura for the tankobon.
I do think that Falconia waging war against the rest of the godhand is a very realistic possibility, he won't just reforge the human world but the Astral world as well. But at the end of the day, I think he'll be a villain, still doing all of this for his own machiavellian ends. It will become clear that all of the citizens of Falconia are actually his slaves, and he'll at least try to murder everybody that Guts loves.
>sacrificed all comrades in the name of his obsession and achieved it
Yeah he like, TOTALLY let it go, you guys.
There are so many characters now its hard to keep track.
>Griffith has done bad things but is not evil
He literally smiles like a mad man when he hears his assassination attempt succeeded and got an innocent child killed. He'd step on anything for his own desires without a second thought. That's as close as evil as you can get.
I just got into berserk i started watching after the golden age arc movies
Ive started on the manga
should i stick with this anime, or possibly watch the older anime
Or just stick to the manga cuz this CG is killin me
he explains it in one of the commentaries. "Taka" is jap word for hawk and falcon alike but with creation of Falconia (in katakana) it was clear that it was meant to be the Band of the Falcon from the start
You don't want to go that route with me fuckboy
>shitty facebook meme with compression artifacts
>The God of Evil itself comes down out of the sky and tells Griffith "you done it, my boy" and makes him into one of his five princes of Evil (tm)
>"There's a philosophical argument to be made that Griffith has done bad things but is not evil"
I'm fairly sure the entire point of the God Hand is that they're meant to illustrate the reasons why people commit evil acts, with Griffith/Femto being ambition. Arguing that Griffith isn't evil is like arguing Guts honestly ain't that mad about the eclipse: it runs counter to central parts of their charatcers.
I'd say Ubik would be machinations, Konrad is a bit harder to figure out.
For Void it should be knowledge/wisdom becoming arrogance and self assurance, considering he's the one that always goes off about causality and fate the most.
I don't think Guts will forgive him for what he's done. But then again, if he leaves Casca again, he will be leaving what's left of the BotH behind, for the, what, third time now?
So now he has an emotional conflict. I want to see how things will play out. Can't the next month come faster?
Konrad seems to represent plague and pestilence. I think he is less of a reason why people commit evil acts and more of a representation of the negative emotions that come with plague and pestilence.
It was the only thing to do to avenge his fallen comrades I think. since he wasn't their and couldn't take vengeance like Guts could, a slap and farewell was the most he could do.
Or that's what I got out of that speech afterwards.
What would you do if your former commander, who already admited giving your former comrades as a sacrifice, is now very calm and collected and shows no remorse from what he did? Give him a kiss?
He won't full on attack him because he knows he wouldn't be able to kill him, but he'll at least try hitting him to vent some frustration.
Even Griffith himself seems to think that he deserves it, since he ordered for Rickert to be left alone. That, or he thinks nothing of the slap.
Probably the later.
Always a fucking asshole.
The abyss needs lots of death and very dark emotions to create a Dragon's road. Griffith was linked to that event without even knowing it before.
Griffith did nothing wrong, and that's why he isn't reacting. He knows this sap isn't fair.
Anyone have the kotaku pic of some faggot saying "That's some damn good anime."?
I think it's going to be some metal gear solid 4 shit where everyone guts has dealt with over the course of that manga will team up with guts to fight griffith and neo-band of the hawk
griffith asks rickert if he still wants to help griffith achieve his dream (fuck knows what that is anymore) and rickert basically calls him a faggot and says that at least he made some sort of grave for the band of the hawk while griffith fucked off to do bullshit
Not to mention the fact that they're just that - OPs. Trying to string together 3D and 2D sounds cool on paper until you see it in action, as in Berserk where it looks like trash.
Get cancer and die for spoonfeeding a lazy anime-only moeshitter that refuses to even read from the beginning.
I wish you die in pain and your family gets butchered before your eyes.
Griffith is a weirdo so he should feel comfortable with other weirdos. He couldn't connect with normal humans, except for Guts but he isn't normal and some fans even speculate he might not be fully human (Zodd's son)
Guts and Griffith die fighting, but his kingdom starts getting it's shit fucked up.
Guts gets saved from the abyss by Skull Knight, who decides to take the fight to the IoE.
>SK gave him hints on the shit he was in
>SK saved him from Crimson eclipse
>SK gave him the berserk armor
>SK saved Luca and knew the old mistress
>Zodd tries, whenever he can, to fight SK or Guts
Zodd's or SK's son?
That half demon theory would be kinda disappointing, cause what makes guts guts is the fact he accomplishs everything he does as a human. Making him a demon would ruin that and the theme of the manga of human struggle (yes I know he has the berserker armour now)
Shit happens in the fairies island, witches dying all around, nice explosions everywhere, king of the flowersomething or the archmages reveal to Guts that Falconia is going to be a huge new eclipse, Guts heads there through the magic babble spirit trees for the final showdown. Calling it.
Because it's one of the most overused shounen twists
You could argue that hes just extraordinary for a human, which while still unusual can also be a result of his upbringing. I mean he has quite literally fought since he was a child, had to support himself and become resolute. I would argue that that, along with natural talent with swords and fortitude could make it possible.
Literally what the fuck am I looking at here? What the fuck did they do?
Guts is human, but maybe he has some supernatural taint. He was born from a dead woman into a pool of blood, possibly during the full moon. Could have had some of that thin place/astral fissure magic afflict him.
But it seems like he's just an extraordinary, ordinary human.
Also this is a fantasy world where humans are just naturally more incredible than normal. Even regular dudes that Guts fought in the golden age could cut horses in half or cleave through plate armor.
Guts never fucked Slan.
She fucked his sword, but her never fucked her.
