Reiko is trash. And Nyanko-sensei flat out tells Natsume that she was not a good person. When Natsume flat-out denied that is when I dropped this series for good.

Just think how long that youkai was waiting at the bus stop. 30 years? Think of how Reiko's fucking terrible personality almost ended up killing her grandson because she never went and resolved the conflict between the two youkai, which led to one being consumed with rage as time went on.

Reiko's actions are indefensible. She is a horrible person. And it's one thing for Natsume to undo all his grandma's midoings, but to do so while claiming that she was a good person? Fuck that.

Forgetting or breaking a promise, even an important one, is pretty human.

Natsume is willing to overlook Reiko's actions because he understands how it could happen. They both share a tumultuous life where it could be just too easy to forget or break promises.

It's not like the promise involved something that would make it easy to be forgotten or was weeks/months afterward. She left him at the train stop, told him she'd be back, and then never ever came back.

She found a kid in the ayakashi forest and she told her how to get out but the kid was like "no i dropped my doll i want to find it" so reiko agreed to find the doll for her and bring it to her afterwards and when she steals it from the ayakashi who took the doll she finds out the kid has already moved on and gotten a new doll but the mother thinks reiko stole it so she tries to take it back to the ayakashi she stole it from because "If I take it home they'll just think i stole it"
