The OPM animation, besides the action sequences, looked really lackluster with their colors and backgrounds, everything looked and felt downplayed compared to Mob Psycho. Madhouse tried to play it safely, I guess it worked out fine but kudos to Bones to be innovative rather than part of the norm.

Mob has actual character development which OPM so far lacks, but I think OPM is overall a more enjoyable work from the MA arc to where it is now. The Claw Boss arc in Mob really took lowered the quality significantly for me. I'm not really interested to see where the story goes from now as opposed to the current developments in OPM.

This is where we differ. I liked seeing Dark Alloy, Bang, King, and Tatsumaki. I also find Zombieman and Child Emperor to be interesting characters. I only find Fubuki to be somewhat bland, but ONE appropriately shits on her in the same story arc so I'm not bothered about it.

What kept MA feeling like standard battle manga arc was its pacing. The few 1v1 battles were done quickly. There rest of the fights were done in groups. The huge monster bout towards the end was cut short by Bang and Garou. The fights didn't drag on like most story arcs of this nature. There were hardly any continuous alternating in between tedious 1v1 battles. The humor, outlandish monsters, and scenes of Garou wrecking shit also helped in keeping things interesting.

The Super 5 were boring. Most sidecharacters became fodder. Anything that did not involve Mob or Reagan wasn't all that enjoyable. Mob vs Boss was terrible. Big scale, low stakes.
