Moguzo get killed later yes. Ranta on the other hand doesn't, he is actually shown to be a pretty damn competent member despite his unlikeable attitute, he gets scouted by the other more successful team, Reiji's Group, but refuses saying they should've realised he is good earlier and out of loyalty Later he joins another party, a pretty damn villaneous group, to save Mary from being raped, he puts on a façade that he is betraying the party and urges Haruhiro to fight him to see who's fit to be a leader, Renta loses and gets his excuse to leave the party, he may or may nor come back
>Manato was a defensive tank on par with Moguzo
Made me chuckle. Don't even know why.
hell grimgar is really grim
unlike re:zero people actually is ded
It was a pretty good show. My second favourite from that cour and probably third best overall. Took "slow burner" to a new level, and a lot of people didn't like that, but had some of the most gorgeous backgrounds and some honestly charming character interactions. Wasn't afraid to be realistic in a genre often devoid of it. Worth a watch, imo.
Also, best mage of all time, not gonna lie.
The anime is at fault for dragging around the middle, the build for why their lives are so miserable are well executed, but then you see yourself asking "why the fuck haven't they got the badge yet?".
>as well as the lives of the other party members
Ranta is effectively the Party's second tank, he is taking all the blows that Moguzo isn't.
When Moguzo dies Ranta is the only tank left.
Because it's hard for people that had never hunted to go and hunt and kill other living creatures that can defend themselves? It dragged on, but it does show people tend to be rather indecisive and drag things along when it comes to killing things. I mean, after the first kill, they were killing things left and right immediately afterward.
Ranta will be the ambassador of peace between humans and monsters alliance!
>but had some of the most gorgeous backgrounds
The team behind Grimgar also did Aiura, and that similarly has amazing backgrounds and art.
Both shows are worth it almost for that alone
A great show with potential ruined by a faggots death and the group unwilling to move on/forget it.
The girl designs are fucking great though, So simple yet so effective.
Not even the best cat in his own show
That is the LN though, anime didn't show any of that so is as good as nonexistent if you don't read source materials.
Anime adaptations should stand on their own and work as independent works that one can watch enjoy and understand without need of reading anything else. But I'm aware this is an unpopular opinion, most people want 1 to 1 adaptations
>I totally forgot how this show didn't feel like it went anywhere.
Well, it didn't, the Anime focused on the shitty lives they were living while padding the hell out of the after effects of a Party Member death.
That worked as a Light Novel, where info dumping is the norm, but on Anime that is a risky gamble.
Mogzo being a badass never
Guild adventures never
Mary deredere never
The threads were comfy.
Did they fix the clipping tress during the funeral scene?
I will never forget it bruhs, will we get a second season of it?
Man, I just realized that my Grimgar folder is 380mb.
We won't. This show was 70% band promotion and 30% LN commercial, and the band is still unknown as fuck.
Haru's childhood friend
Rantafag reporting in. Merry a shit.
He did all that to protect your Merryshit, too bad merrodramaryqueen can't take a hint and started shit talking him which eventually led to the fight with Haru and Haru's breakdown.
How did they go from this to those?
I thought his reward was this
>you'll never fall into Haru's sweaty armpit
Silly anon, Volume 9 comes out next month.
Can anyone translate the synopsis?
The rest of the party is stayed with their guildmates.
Post the doujin in which the three girls get raped by the gobs and they love it.
The gobs killed all males aside from MC who has to see the girls falling for gob cock as lil hearts appear in their speech bubbles and eyes.
MC thief gets his moment and kills the gobs.
MC later wakes up in his shabby room or so and the girls offer themselfs up to him from now on.
Ranta betrayed them and went to the enemy side... Unable to accept that, Haruhiro can't hide how shocked he feels. Even after encouraging the party to resume their traveling back to Alterna, the steps are heavy. However, the Frontier wasn't a nice place that was considerate towards Haruhiro's feelings. On the other side, Ranta, who had decided to join Forgan's, wasn't having an easy time, either...!! The fate of Haruhiro's party waiting at Grimgar is... No one knows yet what lies beyond the illusions and dancing ash.
>unlike re:zero people actually is ded
The fool. he actually believes it
Why is Yume so prone to crying?
Reminder that Haru thinking Ranta betrayed them is founded solely on what Mary told him, not in actual facts.
He should of stopped acting like a little shit all the time, especially when his character needed to adapt to the situation. You can't do a big thing once a month, and be a fuck up for every little thing every day, and expect treatment to be good, that's not human nature.
They fixed the slide show animation of Death Spots at the end of ep12
I don't know if they removed the insert songs from some parts, the characters had dialogue removed when it was airing because of the shitty songs.
But the Anime leaves some things out, like many of the party's initial fuck ups and pretty much most of any Reiji's Group events, they don't even have voiced lines in the Anime.
It's not obvious at all. Mary shut down completely when they got captured and Ranta had to make up everything on the fly. He had the plan to get them both out of there when the time was right and she fucked off, lied to Haru, and set up their whole fight. The last thing Ranta wanted was to get knifed and left with the Happy Monster Gang.
I only wish the studio had the balls to abandon the main party for a S2 and do an entire season of nothing but Reiji's crew rocking ass and taking care of business.
Good job anon
Too bad you missed the threads while it was airing.
>Big LN boost
>5000+ sold BDs, second best after Konosuba
>A ton of source material to adapt
Why S2 never?
From his POV chapters, Haru doesn't hate Ranta, he just hates how different Ranta is from himself and he finds that baffling and aggravating. It's like they're incapable of communicating normally but do so subconsciously almost without flaw. We never get much of Ranta's POV but what we do get tends to follow that same trend.
No, he sort of gets tp understand Ranta rough approach, but it still finds him annoying.
The girls though do deslike Ranta a lot, still is the type of which they don't particularly want to be close to him, not complete and utter shrugh where they wouldn't care if he died.
They only tolerate Ranta because the party knows they would be fucked without him.
What happened recently in the Novels is a good indicator,
Mary may have unwillingly instigated the Haru and Ranta fight, not catching wind of Ranta's plan and thinking he really turned on them, but still when Haruhiro won the match Mary still stopped him from delivering the killing blow on Ranta.
It's not one-sided though, Ranta isn't helping his case by presenting himself as a jerkass even when he means well.
Okay, who the hell thought it was a good idea to make a group of background characters that are better than the main characters at everything, yet almost always offscreen?
It's cause he doesn't recognise he is a prick and turns off everyone constantly.
The thing is I could praise Ranta for saving Mary, but then he immediately does the retarded thing again by not trying to signal for an escape of the situation.
Instead it's clear all that built up tension and the fact he won't get his way surfaces, he got a taste of a different path during the fake betrayal and went all the way.
You don't follow retards into battle, he's too dumb to know how to improve himself.
That's not nice Haru-kun, obnoxious retards have feelings too
>those file size for 6-7s webbums
No wonder why your Grimgar directory is bloated, anon-kun.
I've been making the new ones smaller but I'm too lazy to redo the old ones.
so was ranta fighting against haru seriosly? From what i've seen he was shouting out his moves again, which is something he wouldn't do in a real tough battle. Especially against haru since he knows haru knows his moves front and back
>anime will never air showing the team's growth to their apex and then crash back to the bottom.
That fight was so fucking good. Cemented in my mind that Haru is actually a good leader. He's keeping them together, keeping them sharp.
Even after reading summaries of the LNs, I still don't really know. They just
travel from world to world and meet a few other groups of adventurersbut things always look bleak for them. They just live their lives without any direction.
>video to webm
But webm is a video container format.
The canonical video encoder is ffmpeg.
That's why she likes Haru but not you, Rantard.
>That horrible feel when best girl is a confirmed slut
12, as with most 1-cour shows. Unless there's an OVA I haven't heard of.
He must like them really big, because Yume's yumes aren't even small.
Or he is just teasing her like a ten-year-old teases the girl he likes.
Ranta intentionally gets on Haru's nerve all the time too, and he is sure to fling shit at Yume whenever Haru plays along with her silly talk.
I wouldn't be too surprised given all that homotension between these two.
We would if she were one. Instead she's just a dumb bitch that picked her role because she wanted a puppy and can't even do her fucking job. At least when Ranta went against the group consensus and picked Dread Knight over Warrior, he learned his job to the best of his abilities within the given timeframe. All Yume did was play with small animals and ignore her class requirements. Yume a shit.
>gid gud with the bow
>wake up early in the morning before everyone else to practise all day ery day
>while Ranta uses his skills in a retarded way repeatedly and holding back the whole team because of one fucking kobold
>misses every shot with the bow
>picks up useless knife skills because she's so shit with the bow
>Ranta outpaces Moguzo in kill count effortlessly
Yumefag in denial, but the truth is evidence and you have none.
>backbone of the team
She's Haru's backbone, the rest of the team doesn't need shit from her.
Death Spot was the size of a barn and took up the whole hallway, she'd better not have fucking missed. Not that her shot did anything anyway.
This doujinshi managed to give me a good closure to the series. They finally managed to become a good party,
>useless knife skills
In the kob mine with its plenty narrow spaces and lack of decent high ground the mid-range knife throwing skill is much more effective than the bow. Not that Yume is still shit with the bow like you claim anyway.
She's the corner stone of their formation.
She's responsible for the camp, food, etc.
although she is the hunter of the group she shows relatively little proficiency at archery.
This leads her to take up machete skills when she has the opportunity to train, This changes as she gains more experience, and by the middle of the series, she can make kill shots on goblins from a hundred yards away.
Also with Sharp Sight she's very good at surveillance.
The hunter class in Grimgar is one that has different uses, which makes her jack of all trade.
I felt like this was a show about what happens to boys when they don't have enough testosterone. It was almost a commentary on contemporary Japanese herbivores, or the so called nu-males. All their problems would be solved by hard work, at the very least by being pragmatic and focusing on survival they would gain confidence and they would have no time or energy for petty bickering.
Agree, those three
in the backare pretty great.
But I guess nothing can top this trio right here.
Does Grimgar get some kind of endgame goal in the novels? Or is it just Haru having wet dreams of Manato while trying to get somewhere above scrub level without anything particular in mind?
