Well BBT and GX I would say took place in an alternate timeline before the Ceremonial Duel Atem being there is ok.

From my knowledge of the movie he only appears once while Yugi and Kaiba are having the dimension duel against Aigami in a different dimension and gives Yugi the Mahad card for a very brief amount of time. He then shows up at the end in the afterlife when Kaiba dimension hops so I don't really know if that counts as "bringing" him back.

After watching those two leaked scenes I have to say Tsuda Kenjirou is probably my favorite YGO voice actor now dethroning Hosoya. Especially the one where he summons the Chaos Blue-Eyes, you could feel the inner turmoil and anger swirling inside him. It gave me chills. Hosoya is good too but Tsuda is just on another level. It's funny how I didn't get those same vibes in the DM anime, maybe it's because Kaz had more control in this movie than the DM anime.

Fun doesn't make it good. I have fun with Sonic 06 but it's still a terrible game. I didn't find Kachidoki sitting on a boss monster all duel while Yuya is able to spam the field fun. Arc-V has terrible duel writing because of how Pendulum summoning works, how thinly it's spread and how everyone sits on bosses all day except for people who can Pendulum. DM has the most cohesive story since it had a manga as a guideline. GX has the most messy story since it was the first series after DM and they didn't know what they were doing. I'd rather have three really developed characters with consistent development throughout their entire story than multiple characters who only get developed for one part of the story and never change again.

Judai didn't start developing until climax of s3, Edo finished developing after s2, Hell Kaiser Ryo only developed in s3, Asuka hardly developed at all, Misawa never developed, all the American Academia students developed in s3, and the list goes on.

Only Sho and Manjoume were able to stay consistent in that they developed a little bit every season but even then it was only a little bit and their screentime was shunted for Judai and whoever the "special seasonal characters" were.

It's better than Arc-V I'll give you that but it's not what I'd say phenomenal character development or anything like that.

I think it stems from the fact that most people were watching Synchro while it was airing, and they expected the story to pick up the pace. Meanwhile, the writers used a lot of episodes for worldbuilding, and while it wasn't a bad thing it must have been frustrating for the weekly watchers who wanted immediate character interactions and duels and instead had to deal with a drawn out pacing over the course of multiple episodes.

As someone who watched the whole anime in March, I don't think this was necessarily a bad thing, and I think it made Synchro enjoyable but I can understand why people are so unhappy about it. Still, I think the posters here are a little harsh on Synchro.

Not really. Crow was more relevant than Jack. Jack sat on his ass for the whole arc other than his intro and the last few episodes of Synchro. He was just a catalyst for Yuya's development. I was pretty disappointed with how much screentime they gave him in proportion to Crow.

Even if Yugo does get carded by Yuri that still won't be enough to forgive what they did to Yuri and Yuto.
