The first season of radio had random personalities each episode, but Sugita was in the first three and managed to set the atmosphere to dirty jokes which all following personalities (like Tsuda Kenjirou, Ono-D, Sakurai, FukuJun and Namikawa) kept going. Afterwards Tsuda and Mikakoshi became regulars and there was a recurring dirty joke corner (mostly about "sword" of Damocles and female characters big busts). Mikakoshi eventually developed a tendency to make really obvious double entendres by accident, which Tsuda always pointed out and she became ambarrassed from her own words.

Sugita also gave her the nickname Erokoshi because he saw a dream where Yasumoto Hiroki and some other anime director wildly shaked their hips and kept repeating "You're erokoshi, right?" (TL note: koshi mean hips). Later a huge Mikakoshi fan became a listener of Anigera and because Sugita kept talking about her in various contexts, he started using the pen name Chin-momi Ahaan, sending mails with ridiculous dirty joke intros about her characters to Anigera and later other radios where Sugita appeared as well, culminating in KR where he basically coined the term Cowper-koshi.

I'm going to be realistic here. If you only watch anime, Rie Takahashi's sudden appearance everywhere looks particularly random and without reason. Reasonably she's overused right now compared to more senior seiyuu.

But at the same time because I happened to see a lot of it, I know she spent years doing (and fighting hard for) a lot of obscure, shitty jobs before avex started considering her a priority. They wouldn't just wake up one day and decide to randomly give her better work. I just appreciate watching someone make it out of the new seiyuu ghetto and don't worry too much about whether they're getting more attention than I don't know, say Shizuka Ishigami.


Minase did plenty of toiling in obscurity voicing thousands of lines for low budget games, performing in front of small audiences, and scrapping for minor roles and has won auditions for very well voice acted shows that don't have any bullshit casting.
