Anime like Osomatsu makes money, but since it's still expensive it doesn't compare to the revenue of music CDs and other merchandise.
Since Osomatsu CDs and merch are selling very well they'll wait until there's a noticeable drop before doing a second season/movie, so that it can push sales up and give the series new momentum.
Personally I hope for something within 2017 or I'll go crazy.
