The other one's just some chick he happened to know as a child while the club president is clearly intrigued by psychic powers. He could just show off some telekinesis and have her suck on his lil' dinky all day but instead he hangs out with a bunch of gachimuchi trainees.
What would you pick then?
It seems like there will be a decent lineup of great TV anime this year, but so far there's not much. Mob Psycho will definitely be high on the "good show" rankings if it keeps up, nothing really contends with it so far.
Next episode is Dimple's debut. He goes 100% in that.
Also, how much longer is the manga going to go? It's fairly obvious that ONE wants to end it with 100 chapters, and that's coming up soon.
He's a real mentor. Like, he's supporting and pretty kind and his advice is very solid.
He's lying his ass off about being a psychic but in other areas of life he's a good influence on Mob.
mob is great but people announcing anything as the AOTY are either stupid as fuck or trolls false-flagging to invite shitposting
please let this thread die if you actually like the show
They've switched up a lot of the stories to facilitate the structure of the episodes and it's been working pretty damn well. 3 episode rule makes it pretty obvious that it's the Dimple fight, when he goes 100%. The preview pretty much confirms it.
It would still be shit but maybe it would at least be possible to look at it without getting brain damage. I had to drop MP100 at the first episode. It's the worst thing I've ever seen since Paprika and FLCL.
>The artstyle at times is very Shaft-y.
What do you mean by that?
I agree, but I'm not a dick about it. So far, it's living up to every single expectation I had since I saw the PV but I'm holding back on full judgement until the last episode. Given what I've seen, though, I'd be ridiculously surprised if it didn't end up being AOTY.
I'm not. Fucking pretentious hipsters from le reddit who think FLCL and OPM are deep and thought provoking anime. So dumb.
>someone disagrees with my divine opinion
>this is impossible
>clearly he is just joking
You two. Post your top 5 animu and let's see who has the best taste. The pretentious reddit hipster or the /a/non.
How many people do you think will pronounce Mezato best girl after the next episode before realizing that she is literally the only character in the series who doesnt respect Mob at all?
Nah, fuck /int/. Australians and Canadians belong in a zoo. I main /sp/.
>What did One Punch do wrong.
Not enough pedophilia, normies liked it.
As for Mob, I really didn't like during Ep 01, and not much better during Ep 02. But the last scene somewhat sold me.
Stop entertaining the newfag. Clearly, shaft was just all that comes to mind when he thinks "weird anime"
Its animation isn't even that weird, it's just the result of staying close to the manga's cartoonish style. Looks like Cromartie high or Ping pong or something
The normalfag is probably butthurt because moefriends shitposted OPM to all hell, so he resorts to the only comeback a normalfag can come up with.
And I actually like OPM too.
>Looks like Cromartie high or Ping pong or something
I think that's just as silly a comparison as the Shaft one. Neither of those are remotely cartoony, nor anything like MP100 in style.
Yeah, there's an anime on the tip of my tongue but I can't remember its name
Anyway Reigen strongly reminds me of Onizuka from GTO
That's fair. The action scenes are very colorful and the movement is fluid and kinetic. I don't think anyone was expecting it to have that kind of color palate and to be so hyperstylized before the PV came out.
This. Mob is fucking OPM clone even by the same author. It's boring as fuck. It's shit.
Why are there so many people false flagging these AOTY threads? It's borderline autistic.
Of course, going "Have you watched AOTY yet?" is just as much of a good way to invite shitposting.
it gives some great reaction images though
Tfw tumblr is defending Tsubomi and explaining that she's just misunderstood.
>people don't know that next episode will blow every other show out of the water
Cutest girls in Mob Pscyho are the mob characters.
I'm just baffled as to where tumblr gets the idea that they know her better than anyone else reading the manga. There's literally nothing that hints at her "caring about Mob" the slightest.
>implying that MP100 is AOTY when Bananya exists
Depends where the anime ends. I assumed it would end at the Teru explosion which means only two explosions in the whole season.
In which case yeah most of the budget would go here and at the second one. Which can look fucking amazing if done well.
goddamnit OP you could at least make a less baiting thread to start with all this influx of re:shit fan give me hemorroid. oh well whatever anyway i just want to say Mob literally destroy my summer anime list now i cant even watch other show without being judgemental as fuck Mob psycho unfortunately raised the bar too high for me.
Because there can only be one. I mean, I guess technically there can be two shows so close in quality that it's too hard to give one the edge outside of personal preference but when was the last time a season's had two god tier shows?
I like how they switched it up I'm reading it right now and they just got to the tunnel with the biker. It's kind of a genius way to introduce the main characters by switching that to the first episode. They also fleshed it out a lot more and made it more interesting. Really excited how they're going to do this.
It's kinda silly if you think about. That's like saying there is only one best movie of the year, rather than categorizing them. You can't exactly compare a SoL with a battle shounen or gag show, they have no common ground.
They put everything in the OP though, including the broccoli thing.
I mean you have to think about it, Teru arc should be 2 episodes at a minimum post episode 3 and unless we dive right into it i.e. cutting at LEAST one episodes worth of content, there's also the Ritsu arc, and THEN Claw arc. I just can't see there being enough time.
Manga has Claw arc end around chapter 50, we're just now ending chapter 3 on episode 2.
There's no way.
If he's not cool with it then he'll get over it and move on. The whole show is about him growing up. It's like that story about the guy who traveled the world and had adventures while on a quest to get a flower for a princess who ultimately rejected him. By the end of his journey, he realized he didn't need her because he was already happy and self-actualized.
OPM with that amount of hype as almost big as AOT could barely past 16k i dont really put much expectation on this. One could pray for miracle this will have the same dumb luck as osomatsu-san hopefully.
Re:Zero is still airing and I legitimately prefer it over Mob Psycho
Both are great but the former has the edge
If you don't want to count it as a summer season show then yeah, Mob is at the top this season
How come BONES shows are always babysit so much? And now the BONES cultists are using the same tactic they used the past season to direct all the shitpost to other shows, who can stop them?
I mean every one does at some point. He's like 13 years old after all. At least he's not being a betafaggot and whining about it because that would get boring fast. He's trying to do something even if it's stupid. I'm interested how this will turn out cause in the end she'll probably just ignore him anyway. The muscle club are bros anyway.
Well then there you go. I haven't gotten around to seeing Re:Zero but I've heard "decent" things about it so I'll check it out eventually. I've been hype for MP100 since the first PV dropped so it has the edge for me, especially since the season is pretty much a wasteland otherwise.
I hope she does still ignore him but also that ONE doesn't paint her as a bitch but rather like she's just not interested in Mob.
This could be used as Mob finally growing up and being ok with Tsubomi not liking him.
its when you overly animate non essential scenes
The thread isn't full of incest posting and scat so i disagree.
>putting effort into a scene isn't good because it's not as important as another scene
That's retarded. I'd rather watch people do something interesting then just have the same moe girls making the same expressions and barely moving their body.
>it gets colorful once Reigen puts his hand on Mob's shoulder
>now when a male character put his hand on another man shoulder, it's considered gay
Not that anon but the characters felt boring, Aoba was nothing but a moe blob who is living a story where everything she wants comes true and doesn't have to work for what she has and is just shy and cute and nothing more. I don't mind moe but it honestly is just someone throwing together a story to be in a game development setting without any actual plot to that part to it. How is there a company of only women(which i'd forgive if the other point wasn't an issue)? how did an 18 year old fresh out of high school get into a game company that's big enough to have a game she idolized and really good art? There's no way she's work as an actual employee like that first. The humor is stale moe humor that I could see down a hundred times and probably better. The last scene of the first episode was the most forced drama I've ever seen. All the characters feel like something I've seen before as well.
It has good animation and cute girls but there's a lot of other series with that and are way better. Could someone like it? Yeah, definitely but I honestly don't see how it could be AOTS.
I swear as someone who actually reads BL occasionally people who hate fujoshi and anything remotely gay are as bad as fujo as calling out something is gay. A master touching his student's shoulder isn't gay. In what world is small contact with another human gay? Both sides are so fucking annoying.
I've that a countless time. Does it mean i'm gay?
They definitely add in some stuff here and there. The biker ghost is a good example of that. It'll definitely be able to fill in time with some extra stuff without making it exactly filler.
Forced animation is when something gets needlessly animated to an impressive amount.
I can't find the scene I want, but essentially it's when a character could be standing perfectly still talking to someone else, the scene is fine with a low level of animation because it's just dialogue.
Then suddenly FUCKING WIND AND SHIT and hairs going all over the place and they're having to fix their hair and whatnot. That kind of shit.
It's pretty rare to see because most people aren't fucking retarded enough to waste money/time animating like that.
This board loves to take that term and throw it at everything like a meme.
After watching first ep I thought reigen was a scam ripping even kids like mob off, but apparently he's the cheapest in his business. I have a feeling he's gonna be like the hidden protagnist
>why isn't this anime believable?
You...do know you're watching an anime right? Anime is meant to be non-believable. If that's the case then why does Mob have esper powers? How does a failed businessman keep getting customers? How does he even keep afloat with 3 dollars (i'm sorry, 300 yen) an hour? How is a student with esper abilities so smart he can send ghosts back to where they came from but can't figure out his buddy is a fraud? Sometimes even in shows like MP100 or New Game, you just have to roll with it.
Though that point about an 18 year old being able to work at a big company isn't really valid. Sometimes, rookies can be so talented big companies want to sign them.
Any more and it will get boring fast, you have to know and understand that this is another medium and we only get 20min of content every week. You have to change things in order for it to make sense and be satisfying to watch.
Because you can't appreciate a simple character design. Stop thinking with your dick.
It'll take a while until we get there, so here is another pic.
DON'T LOOK THE POST IN THE EYE! YOU'LL EXP-
There's believable writting then there's just ignoring trying to do anything to make it believable. Mob isn't smart he has power that basically make him autistic because of how it affects him. In fact he's really below average at anything academically and socially.
Reigen gets customers because he's the cheapest in town and actually gets things done. Mob is a 13 year old kid or something who doesn't need money to survive. He's just getting a bit of side cash well he's learning how to be a better psychic.
The issue is New Game doesn't even try to answer things. They just are because they didn't care enough about that because they just wanted to market girls and to me the girls are as boring as the set up. There's nothing original about it and the one interesting thing (game development) is breezed over and made extremely unbelievable and like a fairy tale.
ONE is a hack. There's no way for both of his shitty doodles that he call manga could be animated if he didn't go to BONES and Madhouse to give the Directors a fucking blowjob to get it approved.
nah, they got a nice little following and were willing to take it on before it got any better.
if you see a person start up a successful business, you'd want to invest as it's growing instead of when it's already at it's peak.
Anons he's mastered the way of shit-t/a/lk
I can't even understand what he just fucking said
No those are wrong descriptions. Mob is Social anxiety, pressure to find purpose in life, feeling inferior and introvertness. But all this is self inflicted to some extent so its not quite the same. The beauty is how Mob overcomes those bad traits and grows as a person.
Fair enough. Though I do think Yagami is the best girl so far from the show. She at least makes things interesting. Other shows besides them and Inazuma have dropped the ball hard, especially stuff like Amanchu.
It's pretty enjoyable imo. Though it's really meant for the moe/comfy crowd. I don't know how to explain it.
To be honest, even that example is just simple realism or immersion and doesn't ruin the scene itself. Take two girls talking in a windy place, the animators can afford to draw their hair flowing relatively realistic, so why wouldn't they?
It's little details and they don't impact the scene at all, it's used by people with ADHD that can't focus on dialogue if there are girls chatting in the back unrelated to the main plot, since everyone has to be still when talking at all times otherwise they can't pay attention to it.
Someone got the extra chapter with the Body Improvement club having an ultimatum for being demolished? It's the funniest chapter in the entire manga in my opinion, I hope they adapt it somehow and somewhere.
>People saying reigen is gay
Stop projecting your insecurity faggots, everyone know that reigen is a serious and competent man that wold never be a degenerate, especially towards his disciple which he would never lie or cause harm.
His style is jank as fuck but, considering the fact that he's not formally trained, he has a good sense of pacing, good writing skills and an eye for compelling direction and motion. People with formal skills in the manga/anime industry recognized this and adapted accordingly. What I'm saying is that if you don't understand why ONE's works are adapted by such talented people then you, literally, have shit taste.
Not being able to appreciate art when it's right in front of you has got to be a cruel way of living.
Murata and the director read his works and were amazed by them. But they saw a lot of potential in the visual department.
And now what you get is amazing storys with amazing visuals.
Somewhat. Reigen isn't all that bad of a guy when it comes down to it, so i'm sure he's not above putting his smoking aside when he's around mob, which means a good portion of the day. Hell, he takes alternative forms of payment from time to time instead of money when people can't pay for his services.
Reigen is a good man, a good mentor for Mob and a really good psychic.
>implying it's not to reference how before Mob Reigen had literally no contact with the psychic world and after Mob he gets pulled into all sorts of crazy shit
No anon you're the fujo here
MP100's ED isn't sketched, it's oil painted on glass.
Alright, that was a good one. You got me, anon.
>They both showed best girls waking up and doing their daily routine in a sketched kind of style.
Rereading the (LOL) arc again, I feel like it's gonna be too long for an entire episode. And entire episode with the body improvement club introduction and telepathy club chat at the beginning I mean.
Shit's gonna get cut
Enjoy your no Tatsumaki
I could see it somewhat working if the do it like the first episode and have the aftermath of the fight and the talk with Raigen while the ED plays.
I guess, I was just shocked because I remember using that when I was like, 9. Had a virtual girlfriend and everything, shit was cash. Not so cash is the realization that my virtual girlfriend was probably a grown-ass man.
This could work with a better font
ITT: fags thinking BONES didn't butchered the adaptation kek. Adapting 46 dialogue heavy chapters in 9 episodes is certainly good idea.
There's no way this isn't gonna fail. Reigen 1000% would still make it better but all in all it's a shitty adaptation.
1. self-proclaimed psychic reigen arataka and mob
2. question about the spring of youth, introduction of the telepathy club
3. gathering to become popular
4. idiot only event, same kind
5. ochimusha, psychic power and I
6. discord, for the sake of growing
7. In high spirits, receiving a loss
8. brotherly bow, will to destroy
9. claw 7th branch
10. sinister aura, true face
11. master, leader
12. mob and reigen, the hunt for the giant tsuchinoko
>Body improvement + Dimple next week
Episode 2 was already miles better than the first one which was pretty good.
Can't fucking wait for the next episode.
Yeah but there's shitloads of dialogue before the explosion
>Mob collapsing after a run
>Telepathy club talk
>Talk with Reigen about popularity
>Meeting the (LOL) cultist
By the way how is it called in japanese?
>Dimple's speech and forcing the guy to wear the mask
>Worst girl's talk with Dimple
>You laugh you lose contest
>Mob and Dimple discussion
>Worst girl monologue
>More talk between Mob and Dimple
>Narrator rant about psychic powers and how the explosion meter works
Tatsumaki gets cut
>THEN the explosion
It might climax at the 100% and then have the fight next week woulndt be a bad cliffhanger. Just knowing that people will see 100 is enough. Dont foget that this is a adaption and things will have to get changed down the line.
>ITP: I'm so fucking mad that people are enjoying things.
Adaptation is good so far because they are not rushing it. I'm talking about the next 9 episodes that will adapt 46 dialogue heavy chapters. No way they aren't gonna skip some content.
I do wish I could find what I was talking about.
It's not just like average windy day. I mean we're talking normal average breeze to fucking tornado in less than a second because even the animators got bored of the dialogue.
Oh well I've no proof so assume what you will.
They will skip things here and there of course. They got a fixed number of episodes that they can work with. What are you expecting from a anime tv series? Be real stop dreaming.
>want nice comedy series with some psychic shounen bullshit
>suddenly literal mindrape
That was some harsh shit man.
Here anon, I found you someone more your speed.
REIGEN NO HISSATSU WAZA DEARU
I like things that are pretty or cool looking, even mob looks cool when he gets serious but majority of the cast looks like crippled ugly deformed mutant people with weird facial anatomy. what the fuck does that have to do with my dick
Boss arc was good too. It was shitty at first but that explosion saved the whole arc. I thought Mob would just go ??? and save the day but it turned out it was Reigen who saved the day
They're switching up events to compensate for ONE's weaknesses as a writer. That weakness being introducing rules of the world, characters, or character motivations, all on the fly as they happen.
I really liked boss arc actually, just hoped for more substance from the main boss. Everything up to that point was really nice and epic with all the characters being in it. But the Boss was a little to thin for me. Maybe its cause the chapters got really short at that point tho. I should reread it.
ONE is working with them, so much so that they kinda know eachothers personality traits already. ONE gave his insights on how somethings should be done and changed. I am sure this will top the manga and i hope it does.
I choose D.
Reigen needs to be bullied and sexed up.
It was a private high school for girls, so yes.
Why is Vice-president so cool?
>Mob back in his elementary days
>impressing his crush
>"Wow, that's so cool Mob!"
>keeps trying to impress her
>"Huh? I've already seen this. Boring."
>some kid is the fastest runner/best sports player in class
>all the girls love him
>he swipes your crush from under you
I remember this feel like it was yesterday.
How BONES will handle it will be pretty much the deal breaker.
I am expecting it to be colorful as fuck.
Mob is different from OPM, While opm had a lot of sakuga the rest of the episodes looked like shit to be honest and lifeless. Mob on the other hand is filled with new styles of animation almost never seen in anime. Every shot of those two episodes just shines with love for animation.
At the end its all about taste tho. For Me personally Mob is the best animated anime in the last few years.
It looked good but way too uninspired. Thats the definition of lifeless if you ask me. Just nice colours and sakuga here and there. In those 2 episodes of Mob psycho it already topped that series in my eyes.
Not really most of the animators on Mob psycho were on OPM too or outsourced. The one who would be mad or feel attacked is natsume shingo the director of OPM. I read, the Bones director said that they did Mob psycho to show him how real animation is done. As a joke of course.
