I don't care much about individual explanations on the God Hand but I do want to know when the fuck will Idea of Evil be properly introduced in the story. Maybe after/during actually tackling the God Hand? I've no idea and I want Miura to work on it already. Sacrifice some of the background details if he has to, just please get on with it. The pacing of releases after hitting Fantasia has been excruciatingly slow.

I actually one of the (hopefully not) few that like how Miura allows himself to lighten the mood of the history. In my opinion it serves as a meta commentary between Miura/Guts and how their moods altered how Berserk's world is presented to us.
With recent years, the violence has been toned down and there aren't many evil humans and even less acts of violence done by Guts towards humans.
For example, Blacked Swordsman Guts would use the Count's daughter as shield but I can't see Fantasia Guts doing the same to a random human.

Don't get me wrong, I'm /edgy/ as fucking your pussy with Dragonslayer but I understand how Miura would like to distance himself from Berserk's beginnings for a bit.

Me having a similar nihilistic view of the world now as Miura probably had then, coming from a hopeful and idealistic early life, I understand why he took all those hiatuses and strayed from the history. You can also be fucking sure the history will not always be lolis and unrequited love. The set up for everything so far does not allow it to.
Miura knows how to tell a story too much to do away with everything and make Guts rest on Elfheim.

Never played either honestly but I'll try and answer. BB is meant to be more offensive and I think is the fastest. However, you're still really squishy. Imagining Guts in any of the games simply doesn't work because he wouldn't be down in 2-3 hits. He takes all kinds of injuries head on which is a mechanic for BB as a means of healing through counter attacking, but it's just not on a Guts level.

I actually prefer thinking that the first few books are non cannon, and when the childhood arc starts Miura had enough time to think the story.

You can even notice it in Griffit in the first appearance in the demon mode and how he doesn't act at all like we are used to see him. Or how Guts is emo kid in his period in the first arcs compared to the edgy but understandable Guts fairy arc.
The fault comes from manga publish style and pace. Making every week new chapter means there is less time to think in advance for the story.

You're not, in fact, Guts even outright stated how he has changed and become a different person, after accepting the JRPG party.

So this could imply a couple of things. One possibility is that the opposite this is the inverse of what happened in Golden Age. In Golden Age he started totally separate then grew closer and closer to his party. With this new party he was really close and is now trying to distance himself because he fears the danger he will bring upon them. So he's recalling what it's like to be solo Guts.
