For one I didn't get the molested part, but I'm not talking about her pyro and molsted nature when I say she's pure and beautiful, I'm talking about her growth as a character.

Out of all the characters she's the only one we see taking a positive step foward. The children are still children so they can't really leave, but the whole point was they still had a childhood to live through.Mamimi was a highschooler, she was going to have to move on soon, and she did. I believe she showed the most positive growth at the end. Yes she didn't have a good begining but she had a good end, I really believe in her, that's why i think she's pure and wonderful, she really learned something.

Also she's going off to do photography. A big part of photography is capturing beauty. She literally learned how to focus on the good things and not stay hung up in her own past and beliefs. Before she's take pictures of the things that hurt her like her relationship with naoto, but she's going off to take pictures of new things.

I love mamimi and i really do stand by her ability to change and how wonderful she trully is.

Whenever Noata merged with Kanti it was the peak of a wave. All the craziness would come to a head and he would have shining rock-star moment. Then he would get shat out and become regular old Naota again.
Haruko always exists in rock-star moment which comes at the cost of her humanity and the safety of everyone around her.
Amarao always exists at the bottom. He settles for secure mediocrity but is always haunted by what could have been.

Naota was special because the rock-star moment was still meaningful for him. Unlike Haruko he had a reason to care about the world and people in it. He wasn't just flash and crazieness he had things to lose from throwing himself at the world. Unlike Amarao he wasn't so jaded that he couldn't take risks, he could take the pain if it meant there was something to gain.
In the end he was willing to take whatever came him if it meant going with the thing he loved (even she didn't love him back.) He took the stage-dive of life and Atomsk rewarded him with moment of shining glory. And in the end he didn't get shat out but got a cool, bitter-sweet afterparty.

FLCL is all about what it means to full of cool.

Kids take art at face value and do not interpret. You learn that later in life when you understand more about the artform and life in general.
That said, FLCL isn't particularly deep and many probably over-analyze it, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't have deeper substance you can look for.

I don't FLCL has depth so much as really tight themes in the visuals and storytelling. It doesn't go "down" so much as it goes "sideways." It focuses on getting all of it's elements to play into each other.
Because of that I think there is more there than the creators probably ever intended. But rather than being some hidden message it's the natural result of good composition.
