But yeah Rance would make a much better anime than most anime around today. While I enjoy Re:Zero it's kind of annoying seeing such blatant Rance references in it and knowing that Rance will never get an anime

The story development and characters are great though since Sengoku is relatively stand alone it doesn't show it to the full extent.

One thing interesting is that over the course of the series a lot of male characters other than Rance get significant character development. Rance IX in particular.

The games range from really good to meh though the meh games are the really old ones that are also short enough that the character interactions make the game fun enough to complete.
