I hope they use Itagaki's current art style, Baki Dou looks so much cooler than the previous series.
That's neat but Musashi just one shotted Pickle in front of all the top fighters
>in front of all the top fighters
Speaking of that, do we know all these guys?
It's not a remake of the other ones. The "Baki" series is the second installment. Meaning the Convicts, the Raitai, and Ali Jr.
>you will never live 150 years and tank punches like its nothing
>I don't know who is next to Kaku
This happened before. He didn't win (yet). Musashi can't cut through Pickle's bones. Made quite clear in the lab.
Suedo, Katou, Gaia, Ichirou, Kaku, Jyaku, and a delightful assortment of people we've never seen before. I just checked; they're not Kaiou (or at least not ones we've seen).
It's pretty funny that Jack, of all people, is actually crippled this time - albeit temporarily.
Gotta be. Nothing else is short enough yet cool/hype enough to warrant a release.
You can't escape your destiny, Phil.
>New Grappler Baki
>Son of Ogre
This is the order. If you start on Baki Dou it won't make much sense, but New is actually a fine starting point, you just miss the character introductions.
For the first series you can watch the old anime. The part covered by the first season was recently finished scanlating.
>The part covered by the first season was recently finished scanlating.
I forgot, anyone knows where I can read 171-180 of Grappler? I thought Wild Fag released it on Batoto and there are even links, but when I click them I get a missing file message.
Thanks for the help,
I know it'll be a pleasant read.
Motobe will, briefly.
>At best, I can get through the meat...
>But the bone won't break.
>What kind of person...?
Fuck yes. I'm hyped. Hopefully it's better than the second season, since that was pretty boring compared to the first.
Did you miss chapter 102? He saw velociraptors cutting shit with their big toes in the past, so he understands what cutting is and what it looks like.
Musashi's imagination swords on Pickle functioned like swords, not like velociraptor claws so imagination AIDS would still be AIDS because it's close enough to plague
the whole point of the velociraptor thing was that it *did* function like a sword
According to Katsumi, he's trying to get even more ripped currently. Oliva didn't even watch Yuujiro vs Kaku, so I doubt he knows that it's possible. Maybe if Kaku gets a turn at beating him up further down the line...
So why could plague not function like AIDS? They both make you really really sick
I once had a Baki dream where Musashi summoned a bunch of imagination Sengoku era muskets, kind of like this.
>not caring about mami but caring about gil
I wonder how strong Strydum is.
He's one of the earliest introduced characters yet we haven't seen him fight except that riot gear stunt with Yuujiro. Or have we?
Reading through it at the moment, I'm at the Pickle Arc of Son of Ogre. The Olivia/Gebaru arc was great fun (despite being a little jingoistic) but the Pickle Arc, despite having some cool parts, is sorta boring me. All this power of imagination and image training shit isn't that interesting for me.
Also Retsu is best boy
yes I already know what happens to him
He was there at the tournament, but he wasn't watching. Much like how Baki didn't watch Ali vs Whatever Kaiou at the beginning of the Raitai because he was too busy having cancer.
We saw Strydum fight a few of his elite soldiers and win. He's probably just as strong as Kuriyagawa, or maybe a bit stronger. I doubt Yuujiro would have someone as weak as Kuriyagawa hanging around him, but Strydum is a special case all-around.
>since that was pretty boring compared to the first.
I think I'm in the minority here or something
but I loved almost everything about the second season except for Baki's fights. Fights involving Retsu or Shibukawa in particular were tons of fun.
Nothing quite topped S1's Yujiro vs Doppo fight, sure, but I didn't think it was bad as everyone on here insists it was.
>All this power of imagination and image training shit isn't that interesting for me.
Nobody likes it. Literally nobody. I don't think I've ever heard from a single person who likes it; not in these threads and not anywhere else.
I loved it. I dunno what everyone else is on about. I know everyone loves Doppo vs Shibukawa but, beyond that, Shibukawa vs Koushou, Baki vs Jack, and Katsumi vs Hanayama were all pretty fun ones that come off the top of my head.
Hanayama got his fucking face torn open that one time and he was fine a day or two later
He wears it for most of the second series, actually. Doesn't he get reconstructive surgery or something to look more normal again? When exactly does that happen, if anyone knows?
That would be awesome, but I'm thinking it would be either a Baki or a Yujiro fight, and I'm drawing a blank on trying to remember a decent fight involving Baki on the second series.
Try again, you fucking retard. It's a new OVA. That means new material. And then:
>The original Grappler Baki manga marks its 25th anniversary this year, and Weekly Shōnen Champion will mark the occasion with an expanded 43rd issue that includes "fan-anticipated plans and news" on September 21.
Meaning another anime. Consider how little franchise merch and shit that Itagaki puts out. Every volume has a poster, and the mag chapters advertise bobbleheads or whatever whenever they come out. Nobody cares about that shit, and there's no need to make a statement about a future announcement on such things. Knowing this, there are only two things that Baki fans would care about herein - the manga, and the possibility of an anime. Given that these are "fan-anticipated plans", it's not news on the future of the manga. Also, the original anime was first an OVA, and then two seasons of an actual anime. All this info combined leaves us with:
