>Yuya/Yuzu reunion already
It's almost like separating them again was completely meaningless, unless they HAD to have Yuzu as a PoV character for the Yusho/Asuka shit because she sure wasn't necessary for it.
DENNIS HAS RETURNED!
What a long nine months it has been. Thanks to my fellow Dennisfags, sorry to Reijifag and Yuuyafag and others who found my faggotry annoying. Didn't expect to last this long, but here we are. In the end I had a lot of fun.
Here's the final collection of imgur dumps of my translated Dennis stuff. I think the newest one has some I never posted.
http://imgur.com/a/3Q8Lm http://imgur.com/a/7pynx http://imgur.com/a/MINmH http://imgur.com/a/JR5tV
Now then, Dennisfag out! SHOW MUST GO ON!
Those shows are all better than Arc-V. The Zexal was bad meme won't work on people who've actually seen it and aren't just repeating the opinions of others. The villains alone make it better than Arc-V. Same with every other Yugioh series.
He had no choice in the matter. It's hard to keep his students safe from the Osiris/Ra force while he is battling Dennis.
At least she got to be reunited with Yuya again. Though Mr. LEVEL ZERO is going to cockblock them from performing Enterme together.
have they introduce the skating duels? It seems the opening got misleading
Excellent, I love you dennisfag translator, no homo.
I know this shit gets answered in the episode so just have to wait for subs but I am just so fucking confused. Mr Level Zero is now with Academia all of a sudden, has magic tattoos and is able to hop dimensions? What the fuck and why?
well probably next time against Edo since his issue was being too slow to grab the action cards, although lately the action cards seems like cheating in the game when all the enmies don't use them
EGAO is a religion and a drug. Once you have some of it, you will want more(See Sora/Tyler sisters/Edo). The only one who is immune to it so far seems to be Dennis, though I think R/Leo is also immune to it given that he likely knows that Yusho is opposing him.
I am going to miss you. Through your persistence, I have came to like Dennis
a littleagain after hating him in mid-Synchro, that and my thirst for Yuri lewds. So, thank you, have some pie.
>"that and my thirst for Yuri lewds" was supposed to be spoilered
Reminder that Synchro Dimension was a mistake and because of it, Xyz Dimension mini-arc was rshed as fucked and became shit.
I mean, I could buy the fact that all those people from Fusion actually in Xyz could have been befriended, but not like that and not that quickly.
Tyler sisters are still good, and the best thing we got from that mini-arc.
They better deliver for the finale to make up for the entirety of the Synchro arc and the Xyz mini-arc or else, ARC-V will just be 5D's The Reboot.
They'll just say that they like it. The twins and Edo turning was fine. All the soldiers stopping after one speech was fine because killing is bad and that the resistance members not wanting revenge anymore is fine because revenge is bad. Screw characterization and how things happen. Just make them happen. The show is shit.
DSOD STOLE ARC-V'S BUDGET
'NOSTALGIA KILLED ARC-V AND MADE IT EGAO
Hey now, KachiDokiDoki happens to be one of our finest maids in this establishment.
I like to think that if nothing else, I managed to make sure that people didn't forget about him during his absence. I guess I'll take that pie in the face just this once.
>Twins were hyped to go and help Edo when they were introduced
>Barely interacted with him once they were on screen together
>They wiped out a whole Xyz resistance division
>Are allowed in their base
>No one even thinks that this all could be a trap by Academia
>Nope, just let our enemies into our hideout where civilians are
Can the writing get any worse?
Enjoy the show. Or don't, but quit complaining. Nobody likes complainers. And guess what? Neither Konami nor the writers are in these threads listening to your concerns. So stop complaining, like a B I T C H.
Reminder that Shun should've at least TRIED kicking one down.
To the sex chamber, Yusho's a dirty old man and Asuka is a horny gold digging slut
How about we get some Fubuki/Kaiser up in this shit? Or Yuri and Yugo finally dueling? Or Kachidoki feeling the full girth of HITOTSU NI's Odd-Eyes Rebellion Bad Dragon Dildo? Or Sky Magician doing something?
Or an antagonist being a credible threat?
I think the writers finally realised they want to focus on one side of the story rather than switching over to two perspective since Yuzu's story gets little to no screentime. Bright side is, she'll probably be relevant until she gets kidnapped around the end of this arc.
But really, where is Fubuki?
No, that's just shitty writing. The whole resistance vs Academia plot doesn't matter anymore. It was all swept under the rug and everything was resolved in less than a minute. People can't even use the EGAO! excuse anymore since they didn't even see the duel.
And so this long road has finally came to a close. After been at it for probably 6-7 months, I can finally say that I truly have determination that goes beyond iron and strength that surpasses the finest of steel. All the fun, hardships and ordeals I went through was for this moment. Reijifag's sacrifice wasn't in vain and I too apologize to the fags who found this entire ordeal to be annoying.
I'm not sorry towards the faggots I did antagonize against, mainly the copycats trying to be the next Dennisfag. Cut it out.
The Final "Almost Every Thread Until Dennisfag Is Carded."
Now I could probably continue with this myself until he actually DOES get carded but that would just be ridiculous. Besides...Edo spoiled how everything was going to be undone so carding carrot top would be irrelevant.
The only thing that truly would be satisfying is seeing that smug face get smacked by the original Entertainer in a duel.
Fingers crossed, THE FUN HAS JUST BEGUN/THE REAL FIGHT STARTS NOW.
Overly dramatic as always, I see. Well, I guess playing with someone like that was fun enough.
If you're not passionate enough to give a dramatic performance then how can you expect to move the audience. I'm no Reijifag thou.
I still have mixed feelings about everything that has happened but I won't lie and say I didn't have fun through it all. So I thank you for providing the starting point for this carnival.
But you're still a fag.
Agreed, his theme is the best. I love how it begins with the overwhelming power of God and the futility of resisting, then the second half represents the hero surpassing all odds and doing the impossible against the ultimate foe.
At least, that's how I always interpreted it.
This is true. Besides Shun vs Sora and Yuya vs Reiji II, there really haven't been any of those high tension and heated duels people remember Yugioh anime for.
>but Yuya vs Jack II
The stakes of that duel were so tacked on it's hard to feel like it was a huge deal.
>Yuzu and Yuya reunited
Yuri and Serena reunion when? Oh wait
I'm more of a short and sweet type myself. And there's a reason I've embraced the Dennisfag name this far.
You're obviously a fag, too.
>Dennis only played 2 old performages and Trapeze Magician
>Yusho plays his trap and runs away, Denis angry as fuck
>Yuya and Yuzu immediately reunite
>Yugo and Asuka fuck off
>Academia stooges, Twins,Edo and Clock man embrace Egao after a speech and become hippies
Holy shit, Arc-V was a mistake. Class warfare? Just Egao, City wide genocide? Just Egao.
I know it's a kid's show but goddamn did they have to hamfist their little ideal this much? Not even Sesame Street was this self righteous and ignorant of reality.
Pretty sure the movie was the only reason Yugioh was even considered a top 5 TV Tokyo property for the 2015-2016 year. The marketing, movie sales, and legacy support helped sell the main booster sets. Let's not forget international movie sales too. Meanwhile Arc-V has godawful ratings and relies exclusively on excessive card shilling every episode to sell the main sets. The movie is doing the heavy legwork in making YGO profitable for its 20th anniversary.
Clock Man is probably not genuine, seeing as he's only interested in keeping his job. He'll probably try to pull some shit in Xyz which Shun and the twins will try to stop.
Yugo and Yuri are supposed to duel as well, although that's been blocked twice (maybe even three times, don't remember) before. In Yuri's case, how do you EGAO a guy who is already enjoying himself and loving what he already does?
>Not even Sesame Street was this self righteous and ignorant of reality.
mfw that episode long ago about Mr Hooper
This, Zexal haters can go fuck themselves. Yuma and his friends may of sucked but the show actually told a fucking story. Arc-V is horrible all on it's own, it wasn't the movie, it wasn't the budget it was the fucking writers and the director not giving a single shit. No more excuses. You can't just blame synchro for this. All of this was obviously planned from the get go because shilling is all Konami wanted from this "Anniversary" series. I hope Ono never directs another YGO, this is as horrible as 5D's season 2 where everybody lost their characters and it became the Yusei and Crow show with an occasional plot point and friendship speech.
As it stands now. DM, Zexal and GX are tolerable shows, 5D's and Arc-V can be flat out skipped.
The proof if you dun have it means it not truth also we were talking about the movie being camrip and sub which people are not willing to do because it is not worth the effort. Unlike dsod people bother to sub in a few days arc v
NAC has already said they will sub the movie when a good quality rip comes out. It just so happens no one has been able to take a camrip. Most likely we'll have to wait for the BD before we get subs or go watch it in theaters.
There are harsh laws about camrips in nippon, so no one's going to risk it. Arc-V as a tv show is much easier to rip and upload without getting in trouble. It's a matter of legal safety more than the actual content.
Ono is a good director but my biggest problem is he starts off great and finishes too early. He can't close the deal. This is based off 5DS and Arc-V looks to be following the same path. Kuwabara is a much better director in that regard since he can at least storyboard properly and there is a general flow to the story. Just get rid of Yoshida and you have a decent anime with him as director.
>marks on face
What the fuck is this bullshit? So now this one-off character has some magical powers no one knew about? I'm going to be fucking pissed if Leo gave him this shit because no one else in Academia has magic powers and I'm not about to believe Isao is of a higher position than fucking Sora, Dennis, Edo, Roger, Tyler sisterd or any other important Academia soldiers.
Ono is not a good director at all, go look at what he did to Symphongear with the reason show and see why. He ruined Hibiki's entire character she spent several seasons building on with one season.
A better reason is isao was with fusion all along the school he is in if you think about it none if his friend were carded in the battle royal just saying.
Also yuya ask edo about yuzu can someone translate i hope they are not sent her to xyz land
Maybe Ono is much more suited to directing individual episodes. Kuwabara unironically thought Kotori was fine as a character back when he still had a twitter, but as a visual director I do agree he seems to be stronger.
There is no reason for Yuzu to get sent to XYZ unless they want her to become completely irrelevant. Also I think Edo said that Yuzu may be in Fusion or he'll look for her if she was in XYZ.
So, how do you rate the legacy support for past character's decks? Asuka finally has her Cyber Angels and they do alright and Jack's deck is actually stronger than Yusei's now. Meanwhile Crow's Assault Blackwings have done nothing for the Blackwing archetype as a whole, Edo's cards don't really do much for Destiny Heroes playstyle and Kaito's sole contribution in his Ciper has made Galaxy decks even more annoying to deal with.
True but I did find it amusing how one moment Yuzu's preparing to fight with Yugo, he vanishes then she looks around thinking Yuri's nearby, hear's Yuya's voice and immediately both forget the threat around them as they look into each other's eyes as he runs towards her while Dennis just notes to Iggy that he finally gets his chance now.
>People prefer Zexal to Arc-V
You shit heads should be embarrased, Arc-V is by no means perfect but it did a better job of keeping a loyal audience than Zexal did. Everybody and their mother jumped the Zexal ship after bullshit KATTOBINGU DA ORE, and whoever stuck around bailed after SHINING DRAW
Let's not forget Shark flipping from BARIANS REEEEEEEE to HUMANS REEEEEEEE within a couple episodes with barely any time to actually think it over, the 10 episodes of Girag ruining any credibility the Barians had until Vector showed up (which still ruined the credibility of every Barian who wasn't Nasch), the fucking fetch quest, and Re-contract fucking universe.
Hoping I get a Dennis overdose would be your best shot. Oh poor me.
After his winning streak, I doubt that'd be the case. Then again, Yuzu is there, so there is a chance he'll lose. Still, it's most likely Isao will get EGAO'd and join the church.
>TFW Arc-v Doesn't have enough time, nor is it going in the right direction to get a moment better that episode 34
I Don't see a difference between Pre-Jack EGAO and Post-Jack EGAO except its effectivness, and it's really killing my enjoyment of the show. I really want SOMEONE to not be insta EGAOd and have it be that there are certain situations the EGAO is not something that will fix the problem.
I was a Gracefag until Wendsday of last week. Now i'm all for Yuya/Yuzu babies
Well, it's more like pre-Bees EGAO and post-bees EGAO.
What Yuya's started doing a lot lately is using his opponent's summon method (that they've been using to express their strength) and turning it around and crushing them by using it for EGAO.
He tries to essentially level with them before showing how much greater their own way of doing things can be with a little EGAO
Then drop the show because that's obviously not gonna fucking happen and they made sure to tell you that this episode. For fucks sake we have people who legitimately enjoyed the horror they were unleashing as well as a man who lost everything going after everything that came his way all change into egao hippies in a single episode after a speech. Just like how years of harsh class warfare and constant abuse by the top brass got washed away just because a champion and a challenger had a card game. What more do you need to see before you realize that the writers dont give a good god damn about resolving conflict in a satisfying and interesting way? For Leo to just give up his years ambition and for Yusho to magically be healed through the power of egao? For Iggy to stop REEEing in the middle of the next episode and instead of KOing the other academia agents with him, they all suddenly break into an unholy mix of breakdance and lambada ending with a big climatic finish with Yuya and Yuzu unleashing a massive egao wave across the entire dimension solving the plot and now the rest of the show is just a tournament of egao?
It's over, it's been over sense episode 50.
>. I really want SOMEONE to not be insta EGAOd and have it be that there are certain situations the EGAO is not something that will fix the problem.
Like every duel of XYZ arc up to Yuya and Shun VS the twins?
It fixes most things, but not everything.
EGAO didn't fix Kaito
Sayaka's crying did.
EGAO itself didn't really fix Academia's Heartland branch, since Noro was still willing to attack Yuya after he beat Edo.
Edo, Tyler Sisters, Yuya, and Kaito teaming up while Kaito gave an ultimatum ending with:
Kaito: "We, the Resistance, will fight to save our important comrades, even if it’ll cost us our lives!
If you have that kind of resolve, Duel me!"
Turns out Shark and his sister were Barian reincarnations of a sea king and queen ancestor and when BOOKS came to them and told them the truth, they flipped the script and went ASTRAL REEE without a second thought
Shark was basically the most gung-ho about wiping out the villains of the arc.
Had a flashback arc for a couple eps where he suddenly remembered he was also one of them, angsted over it for a scene or two and then went full genocide.
Re-contract universe is Yuma literally creating a card. As in: Not just drawing a card magically from his deck, it's actually: The card already in his hand changes into a card he wants from a card he doesn't want.
Girag, one of the villains of the arc spent 10 episodes on retarded schemes like mind controlling teachers and students to mildly inconvenience the cast in various ways and failed every time. The problem is that his proper introduction established him as a sort of ominous background threat, and then he just spends almost the entire rest of his screentime discrediting his own side as a legitimate threat until it's too late to really take them seriously anymore.
Vector was the one saving grace to this, but he couldn't salvage the rest of them from being completely nonthreatening
Yuya: I agree with what Yuto said as well.
Edo: There’s a way to return those who have been turned into cards back to normal.
Yuya: Is that true?
Edo: Carding is a means to gather the life energy of the people.
I heard that when the new utopia is created, everyone will be reborn there.
Kaito: My family can be returned to normal…
Is that true?
GONGENZAKA: But where are the gathered cards sent to?
Edo: They’re all sent to Academia.
There’s a Transfer Device for that purpose located at our headquarters.
Yuya: The people who are turned into cards are sent from here to the Fusion Dimension?
Edo: Yes. Everyone is sent to Academia.
Kaito: Beyond this…is my family.
So basically even if you leave the cards. They're all transfered to Academia. basically writting around those edgy scenes and questionable scenes of cards floating in the wind and Shun's rampage in Standard. FUCK YOU WRITERS!
>Even if you leave the cards they're all transferred
What? There's nothing in this that says that
It just says the GATHERED cards are all transferred to academia with the transfer device located at HQ.
Learn to read before you learn to REEEEEEE
>Yuya: Thank you, everyone.
If you’re all with me, I’m sure we’ll be able to bring smiles back to the Xyz Dimension! (Egao Count: 206+1=207)
>Yuya: Yeah. There’s another me, who was raised in the Xyz Dimension, inside me.
He said something like this.
Not going to lie i wouldn't trust this kid
So, for any anon that have an ace (including waifufags and metafags). Post your monster AND your zodiac signs. You have becomed a DIRECT support of that monster and the sign will tell your attribute
>Aries; Leo: FIRE
>Taurus; Virgo; Capricorn: EARTH
>Cancer; Aquarius; Pisces: WATER
>Scorpio; Sagittarius: DARK
No fuck that. Just post it here, what is so hard about that? It's a lot easier than all 57 people who have posted in here having to sign up for the forum just to see translations.
Brave Eyes Pendulum Dragon will not be in Invasion of Venom, in fact, Yuya has less of a presence in this set then I thought, only 4 monsters. the cat, the eel, the giraffe and either Laughmaker or Descend Dragon Magician. An OCG monster took the effect slot at the top so no yuto hippo. This isn't exciting. If the cat's any indication they have no intentions of changing these cards to be more playable in the real game.
Aquarius. Ace: Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus
>Super Quantum Azure Layer
WATER Beast-Warrior/Effect, level 3
If this card is Summoned, you can special summon one "Super Quantum Blue Layer" From your hand or Deck, but banish it at the end of this turn.
If this card is sent to the graveyard, you can target one 'Super Quant" Xyz monster in the graveyard; Special summon it, then attach this card to it as Xyz material.
You can only use each effect of "Super Quantum Azure Layer" Once per turn.
>Aries = FIRE
Well this does explain all my easy heat
I'm really glad we spent 50 episodes winning over the Synchro Dimension and it took 2 episodes to win like 50 Academia members.
Shun got cheap development, Gon and Sawatari might as well have not even of been there they influenced nothing. But we're laser focused on making Yuya amazing so there is no time for other people.
At least we have Dennis as a legit villain (for now). Don't care about Isao.
It felt rushed as fuck, but at least they chose pass it off as "EGAO with us or Kaito will annihilate the lot of you, like he did your friends"
That at least saved the sequence somewhat for me.
Shun's development was handled alright.
There were lots of hints toward him changing slowly. In 58 he acts like he doesn't care about the lancers and then in 63 he jumps to their rescue. In 74-75 he gets pissed at the apparent betrayal, but, in 78 he smiles at Yuya's dueling, which leaves us to believe that in 81 he's trying to convince himself that he doesn't have comrades by repeating it over and over again, when he actually does care for them, which is proven in 90.
Shun's development was too spread out and not focused on enough to be considered great, but it wasn't what I'd call "cheap." 105 just served to finish what was already setup.
Gon & Sawatari were absolutely useless though.
updated the viewing guide. thoughts?
>Spend some 30 chapters on the underground labor camp, hype it up to be some big secret
>Turns out all the civilians know about it and dont care
>Everyone breaks out in a single episode after doing fuck all
Why even have the labor camp at all?
Actually, the civilians didn't know about it. They just cheered because they thought it was a rightful punishment for failure.
The reason for it is: Sets up the commons riot and gives the lancers a place to regroup outside of the tournament.
Was he a good villian or is he Paradox tier?
No the duel itself was fucking awful, literally FINISH THE DAMN TURN JEAN of Yuya's opponent having the win and not attacking and instead just standing there watching everyone run around like retards.
Then we had the incredibly important plot of Yuyas going crazy when there are a bunch in the same room, that we knew about 60 episodes ago. Or the bracelet teleporting them away which we also knew about 50 episodes ago.
When both duels were god awful and the only plot significance is "Yuzu and Serena get kidnapped again" its a shit 2 episodes.
>FINISH THE DAMN TURN JEAN
You have no idea why that became so memeworthy do you?
It's not because he took a shitload of time.
It's because Jean did a 180 with no actual build up to it. Nothing like that happens here.
I'm not sure it can pull it off. GX tried for awhile but it just got stale and Zexal tried it, but turned out insufferable whenever it did. YGO needs some sort of serious stuff happening to help make its comedy work
Maybe I got EGAO'ed, but it's not a bad episode.
It was fun, the only thing I didn't like was Shun staying in XYZ.
The real surprise was level 0, it will be fun next episode.
Even at their most shit a YGO series tebds to out an awesome moment out of the wazoo. I wonder if Arc-V will have one last hurrah like pic related. Rua's reveal as a signer was hype as fuck even if the arc itself sucked. It would ve cool ti see one of the most neglected characters doing something legitimately cool near the end.
>Sawatari beats Yuri for the Serenabowl
Yeah, Synchro's slow pacing and XYZ's lack of major plot importance really hurt the momentum of these threads, but it seems like things are picking up slowly again.
This is the second thread, whereas at the same point last week, we'd still be on the first thread.
Think of it like this. Yuzu has been getting shitty screen time this entire arc. Yugo was ported like Yuri. For all we know they may be in Academia. So that could mean their duel will happen soon. Asuka and Yusho fucked off somewhere else, and seeming how Edo and Tyler sisters are irrelevant as of now, I doubt we'll hear of them anytime soon. Yuzu riding along with Yuya's group means she gets screen time, it makes the ED look credible, and to finally set up Yuya losing Yuzu to Academia.
Honestly the whole switching sides deal was more intense than you give it credit for.
It didn't work for me. It felt like it had a good start with shark being confused in his position and then it IMMEDIATELY jumps to him leading his army competently and without hesitation against Vector's forces.
I was emotionally invested for the first scene, but then it just lost me as I just saw his character jump to the entire other side of the spectrum and him losing faceless hordes of jobbers did not endear me to it.
•A decent reason why Isao joined Academia. Really, it isn't hard to explain since Yuya pretty much humiliated him. Although I won't be surprised if he forgives the whole thing from 2 episodes from now.
•Dennis remains a villain
•Yuzu manages to not get kidnapped (since it's too early) and crashes along with Yuya and the others.
•Hints of where Yugo went and showing signs of a duel with Yuri.
I don't know if anything will. Shark's character arc was one of the best arcs we've ever seen from yu-gi-oh, rivalling only maybe judai and jack atlas(pre sex cults), and his final duel with yuma was the apex of that, with intense emotion from both sides.
>Yuma's duel against Shark is still one of the best duels in the entire franchise both choreography and symbolically.
Fuck you, man. Nothing beats Atem vs Yugi at the end. Now that's how you have character growth. Yuma vs Shark shallow bullshit that only happened because sentai is cool. For fucks sake every turn Shark had in that duel ended with him shouting at Yuma and Astral to die.By the third time it happened I just fast forwarded.
That duel wasn't that great but I'm still amazed Yoshida was able to write how Yuma and Shark couldn't understand each other and how Shark chose his own path while Yuma was left to accept Shark left him. Easily the most powerful scene in Zexal.
Zexal punks thinking Zexal is the best series just because Arc-V is shit.
Go away already. Holy shit. Don't at like it's better then DM or 5D's first 64 episodes. It's better then GX and Arc-V but you guys are getting arrogant as fuck.
>Hope Roots has the whole impact of Yuma and Astral's bond pushing Yuma on throughout the duel
>Hope Ray Victory is Yuma/Astral's renewed bond formed in part by Vector's machinations to destroy it
>Hope Ray V is indicative of Shingetsu/Yuma's combined bond as Shingetsu seemingly opens up to him about who he is
>Beyond the Hope is just "OH, I'M JUST GONNA USE MY FULL POWER NOW"
Beyond The Hope's scene was complete shit. Visually it was neat, but it was emotionally bereft of any impact whatsoever.
No shit Atem v Yugi is the best written duel, but Yuma vs Shark is definitely up there for me anyways. Ironically that duel made me EGAO more than any duel in Arc-V. That being said I still like Sora v Shun and Gon v Yaiba, those were Arc-V duels at their best. Yuya v Reiji 2 as well.
Zexal isn't better or GX or Arc-V
Both GX and Arc-V had 50 consecutive episodes of almost all great episodes
Zexal has its moments, but it's never consistent or is it ever good for as long.
god DAMN I love the aesthetic of ZEXAL.
the fuck? the entire point of their duel was that shark and yuma DID understand each other, and they WERE FRIENDS.
but their paths just could not co-exist, forcing them to face each other.
I maintain that the first half of 5D's and second half of GX are the best yugioh has ever been, but do not be so anti-ZEXAL to pretend that ZEXAL, especially the second half, had some impactful as FUCK scenes.
So the Tyler sisters and even that guy Mamoru turned good? Along with all of Academia soldiers just because of Edo's speech??? I find it hard to believe honestly
Nah, throughout the whole duel Yuma was confused as to why Shark was doing the things he did. He still couldn't full understand it at the end but there's an explicit line by Shark where he outright says they will probably never be able to truly understand each other, but he will still be loyal to his Barian friends. Yuma then kind of accepts it but it's still frustrating to try and understand why he's still doing that.
>is the strongest rival and has the best deck out of all the rivals in the series
>the writers and Konami forgot about him.
Because too many situations could be solved by him dueling and curbstomping enemies, but he takes a backseat for keikaku reasons. His thing is always being one step ahead of Yuya in terms of dueling prowess.
>Kaito: I realized it after my Duels against you and Shun.
How important my comrades are, how wonderful smiles are.
And how Dueling is supposed to protect these things.
I’m sure he realized the same thing as well.
That’s why he came here.
So that he can atone for stealing away many smiles through Dueling.
If he bravely admits the mistakes they have made,
I have to atone as well.
I have inflicted fear upon countless Academia soldiers, after all.
Well, Noro turned good because Kaito and the resistance threatened to duel them to the end if need be.
The Tyler Sisters just jumped ship on a whim since they were already captivated by Yuya's dueling.
Academia's soldiers turned after all of the above.
Yuya & Shun's respective duels snapped him out of being an edgelord.
I think it's more that Yuma is still a kid while Shark had lived three full lives, neither could see through the others' eyes. There was only one possible outcome, they both understood that, but Yuma refused to accept it because his young brain just wasn't able to grasp all the shit that was going down.
Yuya's not on-screen in this image, but yeah. It's true.
Shame if something were to happen to your Yuzu.
I'm pretty sure Dennis doesn't give a fuck about Yuzu he's going to leave this to the academia agents and leave to chase down Yusho and Asuka. Yugo's only line next week will probably be "Where the hell am I now?!" and he'll drive off in frustration or he'll see Yuri and go after him.
Honestly, I don't think Arc-V isn't going to be overall very good. I'll be content with a few decent duels, good moments for Kaito, Shun, Reiji, and/pr Yuzu, some cool new monsters, and that's about it. The plot really ground to a halt in Shiti due to all the dumb shit that was pulled, and the characters have pretty much been holding up the show since then. At this point, most of the interesting character arcs have already been resolved or robbed of their interest, so really I don't expect much beyond the basic entertainment of card games. A conclusive Yuya x Yuzu finale would be nice, though.
It's when Sora started not appearing on the episodes that this show has become shit. That was the point the plot derailed.
And now, the plot is back but we are down on several people. Ironically, Sora just so happens to be right next to the people we are missing.
WHEN THE REST OF THE LANCERS COMING BACK?! AND WHAT ABOUT THE NEW LANCERS THAT REIJI PROMISED?!
Now Isao has special powers? I thought this show was supposed to be realistic, at least more than the others but whatever. Will Yuya submit him to Egao? At this point Egao is more powerful than the Talk No Jutsu.
Shut up, you know that Sora was one of the best characters. I won't say he is the best, he clearly isn't. Just one of them.
But I am more angry that the other Lancers aren't here, since the whole point of the plot-derail that was Synchro was to recruit people.
Summary: Synchro Arc is still shit and this Arc is no better.
Why are you posting an image for ants?
just went and rewatched the duel.
this conversation happens on the last turn before shark forces his own loss.
If the writers are gonna treat Sora so badly, they might as well kill him. Other characters that don't develop at all are allowed to be onscreen (coughGONcough), yet he isn't? I call foul on this.
That was not a plot. Yuya had no business to do in Synchro. He just wanted to find Yuzu. If he wants be like that guy from KH, fine by me. It shouldn't take 50 fucking episodes to do that.
Ditto with Reiji. He said so himself, their goal was to recruit people for their cause.
also, yuma grows to understand nash's motivations once he summons CXyz Barian hope, and he realizes and understands that shark is fighting for his barian friends.
the point of the duel was that the two could understand each other but that didn't necessarily mean they didn't have to fight.
They really should have killed Sora around the end of Synchro Arc. That I do agree.
Would you prefer if he would have had screen time, but walk around doing nothing relevant and job horribly like Gon?
Yes, I'm waiting for Gon to do something, ANYTHING at this point.
someone should make a collage of every time this is said.
If this didn't take place after Yuma just redeemed a lot of people, I would have said that he really should have dropped Nasch/Shark like a hot potato.
I mean, what the hell Shark? You lived more as human yet you drop Yuma anad Co. too quickly to protect some aliens that he just met.
Other stories with this kind of plot at least have the other characters react badly to reveals like this, leaving no option that just turn evil. But I am sure that Yuma would have taken it in stride the fact that Shark was actually a Barian.
Sora was going to get carded by Yuri. That's why he was there with Yuya in the first place. Only reason he's alive is because of a contract extension that ended up being pointless since he has no role in the rest of the saga nor did he have one in Synchro after he converted.
shark had all his memories as a barian return. that means his life as the kind emperor battling vector, and his life as the king of the barian emperors returned, and he remembered the millions of barian lives he had counting on him.
they weren't 'aliens he just met', they were his loyal friends, confidantes, and lieutenants.
Watching the preview, looks like Yuya summons Odd Eyes Rebellion Dragon against Isao
Will it finally get the win it so much deserves? Even Brave-Eyes and Nirvana High Paladin were redeemed
But he still had his other friends, yet he leaves them just like that.
And this guy is supposed to have the higher moral stand than the likes of Vector. And this happened after Vector just betrayed Yuma.
Yuma really shouldn't have wasted his time on those two.
shark had to weigh the lives of the millions of barians that specifically counted on him as nasch vs the millions that counted on him as shark.
he chose the barians, but the reason he conceded his duel was because he trusted in yuma.
But it still didn't happen. So the crreators should have used him somehow.
And they still haven't shown us if Sora still hates Xyz or not. Xyz Arc could have been a great time to develop on his racism (or lack thereof) post-redemption.
The only thing keeps me from fully REEEEEEing at this is the hilarity that this just makes him kinda similar to that guy from Kamen Rider Gaim.
Man, Dennis is pathatic. His mask has clearly been ripped off yet he's still trying to play the role of student and is using his xyz monsters despite being back in the fusion dimension for some time.
Through now that he's stopped the act he kinda sounds more like a certain major.
Dennis reminds me more of that idiot from KH. Just slightly more competent.
If he really did want to be one he would of been more torn about what he was doing but as we can see he clearly took glee in fighting his former student, causing the Heartland war and the fear the auidence in synchro had when he brought out Chaos Giant that time which, if you recall, was very close to nearly killing that cowgirl lady if it's chain didn't vanish and it smashed around revolution falcon while Dennis laughed like a madman.
that's the point
His programming with academia is stronger, so it doesn't create a conflict like in Sora
So his entertainment schtick instead of causing smiles is all about the attention and provoking fear and suffering into everyone else
Millions didn't even count on him as Shark. He had a few friends who counted on him. But as a Barian he was pretty much a God that had his whole race counting on him. He got every member he ever had back of all his failures and pain. Him turning was fine.
>academia programming is stronger
No no no no. Fuck this excuse. I don't ever want to hear it again after this past episode. People are switching sides on a whim these days including dozens of Academia soldiers. There was no brainwashing. No one has any qualms about switching sides in this show and no one cares if people who killed their families suddenly start being their friends. There are no consequences in this show for anything anybody does.
No, the problem with the show is that we spent 50 episodes on an extremely unsatisfying subplot. The setup itself was interesting, particularly with the prospect of Shinji uniting the Commons and attempting to overturn the twisted society established to cater to the Tops. Instead we get a lame prison arc and a lame tournament arc. which, admittedly, had some great duels, (ETANARU ABENJI), but the whole resolution of the overarching conflict, established to be very realistic in nature, is extremely childish and illogical. A lot of the Synchro characters are useless as well-- Jack was only good for saying one line to Reira and his interaction with Yuya (although he comes off as a bit hypocritical), Crow is just there for Shun's development, Shinji is a foil to Crow that devolves into REEEEE, Yugo is sidelined after getting Yuzu into the Friendship Cup and was only used to tease HITOTSU NI. Sergey was very meme-worthy but otherwise contributed nothing. Another problem that left out satisfying character development was the fact that everyone in the hotel rooms were separated.
Yes, as soon as Yuzu heard Yuya's voice and saw him running towards her it was like the threat of capture suddenly vanished and Yuya was looking straight at Yuzu while running towards her and will probably snap out of it as soon as Iggy tackles him to the ground and suddenly the reality of situation returns.
None of the Barians' actions would have happened if Astral World hadn't forcibly separated and sought to eradicate what's left of the Barians in the first place. He had already failed his people once before in a war against Vector.
>There are no consequences in this show for anything anybody does.
That's not new. I think the last villains who 'paid' for what they risked were Yliaster.
However, I think even Zexal managed to sell the whole 'revenge is bad mmkay' schtick marginally better with its villains than Arc-V.
Yeah, I'm honestly surprised he didn't turn Tron back into a human man and allow Kaito to photon change without it giving him plot aids anymore with that crap. He didn't even have to give up the numbers at the end either. Astral and him are going to meet again and because he's litterally a part of astral he can use Utopia and it's forms whenever he wishes. I don't like that the manga never gave Yuma any xyz that weren't numbers but holy shit at least it made it clear that Astral was going away and all the numbers were going with him at the end with no ridiculous cop out.
Sergey was the only villain character handled right even if he was very minor.
He was shown as threatening, made true on that premonition by fucking up Yuzu, then he developed on his own and fucked over Roger in his duel with Jack, but he still wasn't forgiven after he lost.
So I came across a cover, and even if I can't find a comic, it got me curious. Do any decent (porn or non-porn) doujins exist which don't use any established characters? Let's be honest, here, most fan-writing trumps what we get, and if I can get a manga which gives me decent duels and new characters, I can tolerate some OC faggotry.
And while I'd love to see any and all relevant stuff, I can't read moon, so comics having english translations are best, if any exist.
Oh, they're aware, they even noted how at first they were going to have Tsukikage commute Yuya's letter to Yuzu then realized how embrassing that stuff would be for a third party to say so they just had Yuya voice it Then they noted that Yuya and Yuzu both started out very tsundere for each other but it's completely vanished due to them both growing and finally there was an event several months ago that was ended with Yuya's voice actor and the others shouting out Yuzu's, Rin's and Ruri's names. They'er very aware of it. So aware that it's fucking annoying and it proved that they were keeping them apart just because they could.
Don't forget Gallier. all that talk about having a super rare deck that would put the lancers in their place yet when we last see him, he looks like he's been blown up and was arrested.
>most fan-writing trumps what we get
Most? No. You haven't read much Yugioh fiction if you think that. There are good fics out there if you look but most are shit. They are stereotypical power fantasies for the writer whose main character is either edgy or generic happy go lucky who gets all the girls. I remember reading a fic that had the main character use Dark counterparts but the duels were so bad with no tension and he spammed the field with monsters beating his opponents turn two. One duel in particular was a tag duel against two hyped characters that had the main character play double Pot of Greed on his first turn to draw into a dark version of Exodia to instantly win. He wasn't even surprised he drew all 5 pieces. He basically said, "Oh sweet! Dark Exodia!" I berated the author so bad in the comments that he apologized for writing it and took the whole story down. That made me feel bad.
Gallager's super rare deck thing was obviously a joke though. He was never set up as anyone of major importance, just a middleman between the trash underground and Roger.
He's basically the shady car salesman of synchro dimension.
That's because it's ultimately just a conversation between friends who we've seen together over the course of the series. Which feels more genuine than Yuya preaching to his choir boys and whoever the angry antagonist is this time.
KATTOBINGU is about determination so the philosophy is not bad per se. In fact, Yuma never forced it on anyone, everyone just decided to copy him.
EGAO is not that good because... Well... It's forcefed.
Admittedly, I haven't done too much trudging, so allow me to refine, Does anyone know or have links to any DECENT (safe or unsafe) doujins or comics composed entirely of unofficial characters involving duel monsters?
I never thought it was bad. Nasch storyplot was eh, but everything else is nice.
Actually, I cam't get around to watch 5Ds because the few episodes I did watch... Yusei is boring as hell.
>Kachidoki has magic goo in his eyes
I'm not so sure about that. Up til the Jack duel, I'd agree, but that's also what synchro was saying was wrong with EGAO, he was using it to look down upon them. During that duel he used it to push beyond the expectations of the city and perform a miracle that they were all invited to join in on by beating the king with a type of dueling that didn't strictly rely on strong or weak cards, but all kind of cards.
And during all the duels in XYZ, it never felt like he was trying to force them to EGAO aside Edo who he already knew was susceptible to it. In all other cases, it felt like he was trying to just put on a good show and talk to his audience during it, which felt more in line with what it was meant to be. He was generally using EGAO as an excuse to level with his audience and come to an understanding with them as best he could, and show them how their dueling can be used for something more beautiful than clashing hatred with one another. He was basically trying to lead by example and welcoming everyone else to join in too while he kept doing his thing.
Except that having him resolve a character arc mostly off-screen and then drop him completely instead of showing the results of his development is shitty. But it's not like ARC-V does better by any of its other characters.
I watched through all of it.
I actually liked the early stuff more than the later stuff. Couldn't stand the barians because it felt like they wanted to put them in a middle ground between comedy and seriousness that ultimately made most of them feel like a waste of time that could've been better spent developing the relationships of the good characters of the arc (Nasch and Vector).
Comparatively, the Arclights were played completely straight and I was far more captivated by seeing them shake up the cheerful setting of heartland with their revenge plot since the arc did a lot to delve into their reasons and they never really betrayed their position as villains of the arc for a cheap joke.
There was far too much filler in the first part overall, but the first half of zexal had a far more captivating plot when it got to the fucking point.
Also, Yuma's stupidity was in full force during the first half, so he felt like a distinct character rather than a generic hero
>I actually liked the early stuff more than the later stuff.
Same. I felt it handled its SoL elements very well but when it got to serious stuff like the Barians it became rather boring and cliched. Some aspects were good like Vector, Yuma vs Shark, and the Ceremonial Duel.
Final Arc is a crossover with all protagonists fighting Akaba Leo, Yuya fused with all Yus and using all Dragons. Jack, Crow, Kaito, Asuka and Edo as Lancers.
We Xros Wars now.
As in getting carded or actually getting murdered, because I'm all for whichever can flip this ep's forgiveness upside-down.
What if Dennis murders Kachidoki in front of everyone after the duel?
I'm glad someone else agrees with this. The Arclight plot was compelling as fuck, and while Yuma may have been an obnoxious fuck in the first half of the series, he had a very distinct character and intentional flaws.
I'll go further: How do we fix Synchro?
A nice addition would be a friendly duel between Yuzu and Yugo, where the former wins, if only to even out W/L ratios. Also, Yugo teaches her to Synchro.
Freedom of movement in the first round of the Friendship Cup. Give Yuzu the sense to take off her bracelet for fucking once to allow Yuya and Yugo to properly meet. This also allows more development for Shun, particularly with his sympathy towards Crow (and Shinji) for wanting to protect children, as well as the fact Shun and Shinji both have the rebellion/revolution motif.
Give Serena a full, decent duel against Tony.
For round two, Yugo vs. Serena and Yuzu vs. Sergey can be kept, but at this point, Shinji's revolution should actually begin to manifest. At the same time, Academia's attack should be moved forward, and begin at this point as well. During this time, have Serena vs. Barret (with the former winning), Sora vs. Dennis (with the latter winning), Tsukikage vs. Dennis (with the former winning to save Sora from being carded after being exposed as a traitor), and Yuya vs. Yuri (with Yugo butting in to trigger Hitotsu ni), and then have Yuzu come in and fuck everything up with bracelet-kun. In the midst of all this, Roget can declare martial law and mind-control all of Security in order to contain both the invasion and the rioting Commons. Here is where Yuya can debut Enlightenment Paladin, and Reiji should actually be shown off as well, performing one-turn-multikills in different ways to demonstrate his versatility. Throw Enjoy and Gongenzaka a bone by having them beat Gallager in a full, on screen duel. Jack vs. Sergey can take place here, as well.
During this, Roget's villainy gets exposed to the public and he is portrayed as an enemy to both Tops and Commons. His downfall would come about in a tag duel featuring Jack, Crow, Shinji, and Yugo against multiple Roget body doubles simultaneously. After this, then the Tops and Commons can cooperate in order to create a more fair society, since the figurehead behind the divide is removed. This helps alleviate the whole "JUST EGAO IT'LL SOLVE EVERYTHING" problem that comes about with Yuya vs. Jack magically averting the violent revolution. Yuya vs. Jack would still take place, although this is after Tops and Commons have decided to get along, so it's more of a celebration rather than an asspull solution.
THEN we have Roget come back and fuck everything up with wormhole-kun and move on to Xyz.
At this point she's not learning anything. We thought Asuka would teach her Rituals, but now she's done a runner. Yuzu could get her own pendulum cards but not anytime soon from the looks of it. Luckily she's actually relevant again due to being with Yuya and his group. Worst case scenario she gets captured throwing her under the bus, which God forbid happens.
How about his school most likely being affiliated with Academia?
>The school took up Fusion summoning, but isn't with LDS in any form
>Dennis's debut was in the Battle Royale when Yuya was in the middle of dueling 2 of Ryozanpaku's students
I hope she actually manages to stay with them since it looks like they're the only ones that are getting quality screen time. Plus the dynamics with Yuya, Yuzu and Gon should be developed and not just teased in a ED.
Gee, I wonder.

Also forgot to mention...
>We don't know what happened to those 2 students after Yugo pummeled them and weren't shown to have been carded
What I'm getting here is that Dennis was most likely the messenger for relaying Academia's orders to Ryozanpaku along with reporting the happenings in Standard to Academia and is also Ryozanpaku's Fusion card supplier. Those 2 students weren't hunted down and carded due to being loyal to Academia and will most likely appear again later in some form.
It can be both. He did see Yuya years before their first match.
>Ryozan told Kachidoki to not think of dueling as fun
How much you wanna bet that Kachidoki will find dueling fun after this duel
and get killed for it?
If Yuzu saw what Yuya's Entame did to the tyler sisters she'd have her paper fan out. I miss the manzais The last one the two had together was Yuya being scared to take Yuzu on in a duel after he accidentally called her weak
