In classical Japanese you have verb forms that are no longer distinguished in modern Japanese.

For example the 終止形 vs. 連体形. Simply put 終止形 is the form at the end of sentences, 連体形 is the form in clauses. For most verbs these were the same, and similar to modern dictionary form, e.g. 食ぶ, 食ふ, 云ふ, 見ゆ etc. (Put in the simplest for possible, it's the form ending in -u when writting in romaji.)

Only few examples exist where these forms are different. Verbs なり, たり, あり and 侍り (はべり) have 終止形 that ends in the -i line.

Even in periods when difference was recognized, sentences were sometimes ended in 連体形, which was a sort of "soft ending". Like you'd now end a sentence with three dots, if you will... Since for most verbs both forms are the same, ultimately ending sentences with 連体形 prevailed.

For the sentence in question, なり is the revelant verb. It simply means である/です and is written as 也. So なる is its 連体形. 全能なるわれら then becomes 全能であるわれら. Or in modern terms 全能のわれら, since 全能 is tied to nouns with の. This guy >>143480262 is right though, that modern な is a changed version of the なる I'm explaining now.

And at the end of the sentence you can see なり in its 終止形.

(Bonus: It's debatable is the concept of "sentences" applies to classical Japanese, but it's easier to understand everything with them.)

Best to just go through Tae Kim first, learn a little vocab along he way as well but don't focus too much on it. Then once you finish or aren ear finishing being more focus to vocab, after studying that for a bit then see if you can understand books.

Very interesting. I admit I only gave a cursory check to Man'yougana, cause it's ultimately not needed for studying many of Old Japanese works, but he makes some interesting points.

Like:

It is natural, technically. There's nothing wrong with it in a grammatical sense or in the context of mother tongue.

However, being a foreigner who speaks like that, you will inevitably be asked by somebody if you learned your Japanese from manga or video games because it's not a proper way of speaking that is taught in any textbook or classroom.

It's just all up to you. Just keep in mind that even some Japanese people don't like guys who talk like that because it makes them sound like "tryhards" who want to sound masculine or tough. It just all depends on the person or context.

Well take it from me, I spent fucking ages reading grammar guides, because I was always convinced I didn't have enough of a grasp of grammar, I read all of the manga way, tae kim, genki, and a lot of the DoJG, but ultimately it was completely unnecessary to waste so much time doing so

Reading Japanese shit for the first time always feels impossible no matter how much preparation you do with grammar guides and shit, I really just think it's better to get right into reading straight away, even if it feels like it's impossible, and to just keep looking up the grammar and vocabulary that you see when and where you see it

It's really hard, but it's gunna be hard no matter what, so it's better to just get right into it so that you can start improving asap, you improve a hell of a lot faster from reading native material than you do from reading grammar guides trust me, just try not to get demotivated from how hard it feels

I'm doing it in bite-sized chunks and taking advantage of long-term exposure, letting it soak in as I go. If you don't understand this concept, you're probably a monolingual who's going out of your ignorance cave for the first time. As for the hardship of guessing what they refer to, it's really bothersome sometimes, but a lot of them make sense.
For instance, karakara (dry/thirsty) shares the ka with kawaku and kansou.

Others I try to make mnemonics. Pekopeko (hungry) is that eats-everything bird from Ragnarok, Perapera (fluent) sounds like "waitwait" in my native language, which is something we'd say for a fluent person talking too fast.

What I really hate are words like sukkari, sukkiri, kikkaku, sekkachi and whatnot, those look way more confusing without any kanji to help.

To get the most out of tutoring and having a one on one teacher, she asked what my goals are. One of them is to prep and pass the JLPT 5 test. Is this a good goal to have or do you think it'd be more beneficial to learn casual Japanese or some other goal?

They chose to write マジ as 真剣 because doing that is a dumb meme in Japan. It doesn't really make sense other than 真剣 and マジ having roughly the same meaning. Don't think about it too much.

I've been doing this with a novel and a manga for a while, that is reading the raw with a translation by my side for reference.
It's not bad, though there are pitfalls:

Those are both poor resources. Pimsleur uses a method of language learning that was popular in the 50s-70s and is really utter shit. Rosetta Stone is okay I guess, but you can do so much better, it's not worth your time.
