Most animation studios aren't that large, but this isn't the only room, this is just where their computers are. Osomatsu is mostly done on a PC (aren't most anime these days? i'm not sure) but there's another room where the character designs, storyboards, drafting etc are done on paper.

Hey Matsu not-general, I have an important question.

So somebody proposed a complete marathon of Osomatsu-san for the sextuplets birthday and I like the idea of that and have been re-familiarizing myself with cytube as a result.

Basically, I can do it, but the only way I can set it up has videos ranging from 480p to 720p.

If there's someone else out there who has access to services/methods/videos that would allow for 1080p episodes AND is willing to host the session (May 24), please let me know in the next day or two/drop a message here so that I know not to spend any time setting up/sourcing vids.

I didn't think about the alternatives, I just thought it would start on the day itself, later in the afternoon so that hopefully it doesn't conflict too badly with people who work or study.

So let's talk about that a bit.

Basically, in the US, it's a Tuesday afternoon. I was gonna suggest a full marathon starting about 5PM EST, but I'm completely open to suggestion.

But it's a nine and a half hour marathon. That's kind of insane, even for NEETs. It's saner to break it down into cour 1 on the 24th and cour 2 on the 25th.

So that way it would run roughly from 5 to 10PM EST, on the 24th (Tues) and the 25th (Wed).

I'm open to suggestions though.

We're waiting on 12, 13 and another bonus crossover with Gal Japon.

Frankly there aren't quite enough translators to deal with the volume of incoming content (novels, magazine interviews, events in the matsu games, the drama cds etc etc). So we just have to be patient.

Before I leave I thought I'd mention that I've already set up the Matsu marathon because I got impatient and bored. There's a dedicated cytube for it and I added all of the LINE stickers as usable custom emotes.

Not to bring up this discussion but I disagree. I thought it would be resolved in the next ep in a silly way, key word being "resolved." I think Flower Fairy and ESP Kitty were painful and forced, but I liked Jyushimatsu Falls in Love and any of the series' slightly more serious moments.

My friend teases me and calls me a dramafag, but I think I'm somewhere in between. I enjoyed episode 24b, though it was a little too fast-paced.

The show is what it is though and as long as ep 25 isn't the end for real and they do address the more serious sides of the characters again, then it's okay.

I don't think it was supposed to be more emotional than ep 9. I mean that ep had some really serious themes in it and the whole episode was very dramatic (jyushi's breakdown, the train scene, rain and other shit like that). Also it was about two people. Esp Nyanko way calmer than that and slow paced. I love both these episodes but i wouldn't go my way to compare them too much with eachother.

Jyushi First Love episode didn't feel right leaving on a sad note. I was expecting some sort of gag near the end to lighten up the mood. Maybe this is why I prefer Ichi's sad episode better since it didn't over do it. The Letter episode didn't bother me as much because I knew it would follow up with a gag in the next. Only a certain number of eps in english exist on YouTube by a user named Iyami Zansu. For some reason they stopped translating a while ago. If you speak spanish, there's a full esp dub for the 80's rendition because for some reason it was a really popular kid's show in South America.

The 60's version was unenjoyable to me (I watched the few available eps anyway) because it's dated as hell in every way.

The 80's version is a lighthearted funny kid-friendly cartoon that can be likened to Doraeamon.

Besides having the same characters, it bears almost no resemblance to the 60's/80's versions where they were kids.

I have no idea what to compare the humor to other than Gintama (same directors). I also loosely compare it to Loony Tunes and similar at times because of the lack of rules/structure and presence of things like cartoon physics and medium awareness.

The first episode isn't like the rest of the series, keep that in mind. It becomes 10x funnier once you are used to the brothers as characters and the cast in general, though. It takes a while to kick in and then it's a blast with only the occasional miss.
