I like the NicoNico version better.
We even have a banner for that shit.
>wanting to kill Keit-ai
It's too late. It's like trying to kill Sakura Fish. We've all been assimilated.
Can someone from /a/ tell me what the song at the end of this TCM episode is? It's been driving me nuts since 2007.
A boy falls in love with a statue.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the statue's island adress. Never minding the strange name, he immediately goes there, and is overjoyed to find out that the statue can crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the statue, it only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the statue he called is not the same statue he fell in love with. In fact, it doesn't have painted eyes in this universe at all. It is the statue's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen on the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of being crushed.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the islands of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in SLAVERY with each other instead and question the NATURE of CONQUEST.
>keit-ai is still being spammed
>haven't seen a Gaijin-kun thread in months
>tfw deleted the majority of content from my original first 4chan folder many years ago
Most anything and everything I saved from '07 to around... I don't even know, maybe '10/'11ish is gone.
There's also the instaoldfagkit
I liked it when we edited Azumanga Daioh pages.
I liked it when _other anons from /a/_ edited Yotsuba pages.
Did we have more OC back in the day or is it selective memory?
We have more OC today than we did back then.
No, there was definitely more OC on 4chan as a whole.
I wouldn't call what some underage putting two images together in Microsoft Paint in order to get his image reposted on /r/4chan OC.
>I wouldn't call what some underage putting two images together in Microsoft Paint
>he doesn't know about Ghost Slide, Door Punch, Virtual Sky Lanterns, or Keit-ai
>he probably doesn't know about Jesus Assassin, Ore no High School Rom Com, or Gaijin-kun either
That's technically not an /a/ meme since /a/ didn't invent it.
This is more of an /a/ meme.
I miss when 2hu, KEY and type-moon where the hypest shit. (before the /jp/ split)
IAMP, Tsukihime, Ever 17, underwater ray romano and planetarian where the hypest shit too
>keit-ai is a meme
>door punch isn't
Get your shit together, /a/.
God-fucking-damnit, let me get the fuck out of this thread. Ya'll white boys too much.
It did have more OC. It started to die out around 2008-2010 and then go downhill from there.
I hardly save any pictures from 4chan now. Used to save several on a daily basis, heck sometimes even whole threads full of OC where saved from time to time.
If you think there is not enough OC, do something about it.
Edits in general of anything, as long as it was done creatively.
Remember dropping that one show every week?
I recall those threads as one of our best moments.
I wanna be his successor.
>for a while it was just one guy with a script posting it over and over again
One guy with a script won't be able to do this, newfriend.
>mfw this video has more views than the original TCM video
This pic justifies the unfunny Corey threads.
Desu never dies.
>This is just horrible.
I was busting a gut when Shinkai made Keit-ai real though.
MEME MAGIC and all that.
Why can't we have more good meme like /tv/?
They always have good OC when every time new movie show up.
RIP in peace
I think it's largely that all of /a/ doesn't watch the same shows all together any more.
/tv/ memes are entertaining enough from the outside looking in every once in a while, but I would not in a million years want that kind of forced meme spawning on /a/. The rate which memes are born and die on /a/ in relation to shows aired and shit is natural and for the most part not obnoxious.
Let's tick off the cardcrusher dead meme box in combination as well
Might as well get Giovanni punch out of the way
>YEARRT is sacked
>Anno is sacked
>Ren-chon is sacked
>Papa Bones is sacked
>Semen Demon is benched
>UMR is benched
>no Sakura Fish
We deserve to lose.
Keit-ai should have a 3D face there.
I feel like I'm the only one who remembers this shit
> ore no highschool rom com was 3 years ago
I feel that 4chan as a whole has a lot less OC in general, possibly thanks to how popular other things like reddit and so on got and how people immediately reposts anything interesting from 4chan in there, reducing their value. There's also this bizarre meme culture that started out of nowhere because of people calling everything a meme, and everyone is trying too hard to make something funny and forcing their jokes even harder than they ever did, which makes it feel like it got a lot harder to have fun on the internet. Probably not for those memesters, though.
tl;dr shitsux kill everyone and please reset the internet
She made a 4th episode, by the way.
And here's why you should stop liking her.
My best friend went over my house and he was saying that he watched Haruhi so I asked him who was his favorite character, so then he said Yuki. So I said, "You know I have the same hairstyle as her." He said, "Hahaha, you do, that's fucked up. You look like a total girl. Why don't you just cut it off and get a real man's hair cut?" We both laughed and then I said, "You know with a little work, I could actually look like Yuki for you." Then everything went silent and he gave me a look that could kill. But I just kept going. "Yeah, I could dye my hair, cosplay, and even..." Then I took the glasses from his face and wore them. "I could pretend to be Yuki for you, if you wanted me to."
Then I suddenly realized what I just said to him and stopped talking. It was the most awkward moment ever in my life. My friend just stared with no expression on his face. Then after a few seconds, I made a weak laugh and said, "Yeah. That was pretty gay," then took the glasses off my face, gave them back to him, and we watched TV without talking. Minutes later, he sat beside me and held me close. I felt my cheeks burn. He then pulled down my pants and boxers and rammed his thing inside me while we watched the news. I'll never forget that night.
I've been pretending to be Yuki for him ever since. Pic related. It's me dressed as Yuki.
Just like Shingeki no Kyojin is still relevant right
That a small amount on people on /a/ and /vg/ voting for a character on the /a/ team does not mean that /a/ as a whole approves of it. Hell, the fact that you almost see as much dislike for Keit-ai as you see support alone should tell you something about how popular it. Compare it to the short-winded Ghost Slide to get an example of a similar thing that didn't get forced onto everyone until they liked it.
At least one day the masses will finally understand what it's about and spam the shit out of it, completely killing its popularity on 4chan, just like it happens for everything else.
>That a small amount on people on /a/ and /vg/ voting for a character on the /a/ team does not mean that /a/ as a whole approves of it.
It's not a small amount if Bert and Keit-ai are starters rather than sacked or benched.
>MFW I drew this.
Probably my only decent contribution to /a/.
Though my version had a bad end.
>Compare it to the short-winded Ghost Slide
How a handful of anons praised it when 4chan was still a smaller board and how it died overnight in the same year?
Yeah, good point, newfriend.
It's Shinkai's latest hit anime.
Here's the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_rz1bluG_k
>At least one day the masses will finally understand what it's about and spam the shit out of it
Except the masses don't even get it.
You based it on a copypasta, right?
>acts like an internet whore using a kids voice to sing nigger shit and rap
>that's not me guys
>anyway I have loads of subs now I don't need that shit for attention
Top fucking kek.
I've never seen more blatant and least self aware attention-whoring, bandwagoning and back-pedalling.
I wouldn't want to be the girl who wrote/sang the pomf song either but I'm not the one who made and uped it.
Given the fact that Saitama is also a forced starter due to getting 80%+ of the votes earlier this year, I don't think you can say that most of those votes came from /a/ - they came from "that" part of /a/ at best.
Thus the "short-winded" part. That example was only used because it's a fake show just like Keit-ai, you know.
The fact that people get so defensive whenever anyone opposes Keit-ai is kind of bizarre.
>That example was only used because it's a fake show just like Keit-ai, you know.
Keit-ai has more staying power since it's been around since 2011 at least.
I don't blame the casuals for thinking that. According to /a/, anything can be Keit-ai.
>Given the fact that Saitama is also a forced starter due to getting 80%+ of the votes earlier this year,
And now Saitama is gone and Keit-ai is still here. Democracy in action.
>and their cell phones are connect them
Topnotch writing right there.
>any memes on /a/ are mostly insular and series-specific.
I've been here since late 2009(eternal post-07 newfag I know) but it's always been like this. I don't know what other kind of OC you want.
Peak meme production seems to come a certain point in a community's life cycle. Most of the time though, most of the community would have died off too. No one is making OC on YTMND right now, but at the same time, the site's pretty much dead too.
How about we make a new meme.
Let's take an old anime nobody has ever watched and pretend like it's an amazing hidden gem.
I suggest The Star of Cottonland.
Speaking of OC, reverse google search anything you made over the years. The things I made that were never barely or ever reposted made it to back of the corner anime forums. It could be something you knew wasn't even that good but still made its way somewhere out there.
I would suggest
I Wish You Were Here
>think some of these aren't that old
>then I realize I've been here for 8 years
have you even watched it dude
shit is kawaii
I used to crossboard between here and /v/ a lot and I don't think it really died until it kept having board splits. /vp/, /vg/, and /vr/ kind of killed any meaningful discussion on that board. I just finally stopped in 2013. That Mighty Number 9 crap just pushed me over.
I just wanted to shitpost and talk vidya, not trying to cause a giant shit fit over who was the community manager of some kickstarter forum.
It's also really slow, boring and it doesn't go anywhere.
Sure it's cute and has a bunch of fun moments but overall it's just meh for me.
The was the story is told from a cats perspective is pretty unique but it's not enough.
I liked when Gaia was our boogeyman and not Reddit more
I still stand by what I said on the board splits killed /v/
Why talk about games when you could just go to /vg/, why bring up retro titles if I could go on /vr/? And Pokemon was so huge in 2010 that half the threads on /v/ were about the Black and White reveals, thus warranting it's own board.
The current state of /v/ even before all that Gamergate stuff was just a sad state. People on there were so obsessed with the TOR stuff that any major release had to be THE WORST THING EVER AND LET'S SINK IT
The Indians animated Madoka though? Don't you know the CEO Hiroshi Wakao gave Kiaan Sai (lead animator) his $60,000 Koi fish as a gift for contributions to the anime?
That's a pretty sexy fish. So smooth~
The desu-wordfilter is the greatest wortfilter to have ever graced this website. The senpai-wordfilter is nice, too.
