I really loved the past few episodes.
The pacing and the balance between comedy, actions and serious plot have been perfect, not to metion that it's visual direction is really pretty.

I feel like every season we all scramble for news about split and two-cour shows that make us sweat because some announcements come later then others, sometimes only revealing 2-cours a few weeks before the season ends, but I definitely agree that it feels like a 2-cour show. You don't need a Chidori. Just choose something arbitrarily and decide to focus on it, like a specific anime or some shit. If someone says it's shit then try and be autistic and refute their claims, even if you don't actually care. Should help as a start to remember what it feels like to care about something. Even if it's not true you NEED to be consistent. Choose something about yourself too, and every time a thought crosses your mind about it you need to do the same thing and act like you care. It's all about being present. I was like you but doing this took ages but I managed to start giving a shit again. You just need to be constant with it even if it seems retarded as fuck in your head like it did to me. Pretty soon you'll be breaking patterns regarding not caring and making new mental associations about how to react to things and you'll start to care about things without trying.

Or we can just talk about Kiznaiver if you aren't up for it. Kacchon's stuff hit me close to home as well and is probably a major contributing factor to why I like this show so much.

I like Maki and her story though. It's the only interesting thing happening in the show at the moment. The wish the other characters had actual legitimate problems/traumas worth exploring. Maybe the show will prove me wrong by the end but I doubt it.

Maki seems like she belongs in a different show honestly. I feel like her background is disproportionate to the other characters in severity.

Don't just look at what you're being shown directly. There are plenty of subtle and not so subtle clues about everyone in the show. Nico acts crazy, and we found out directly that behind that facade she really is a bit wonky to actually consider herself so highly that she believes everyone would hate her for being intelligent and rich. Yet separately from that she has these moments of clarity where she can see through the others, like last episode where she left the somen party to follow Maki. Tenga acts tough and has a silly weakness to dogs, but he truly cares about helping Chidori and is fiercely loyal, showing an emotional sensitivity that goes beyond the simple delinquent with a heart of gold. Yuta of course keeps trying to get close to Maki, in his own words because of her looks, but that is an obvious lie considering how much he keeps being hurt by her words. If he really only cared about the superficial he'd be able to brush that off easily. And then who the hell knows what's going on with Hisomu. It's all there, you just need to dig it out.
