What's the worst series you've ever watched, /a/? And by "ever watched" means a series that you actually finished.
I'd probably go for Myself;Yourself. To this day I have no idea why I watched that bland shit entirely.
SAO hands down
I blame it for the current state the anime industry is in right now
Of course it had. Sure, a series that is bad towards ending is disappointing, but you can't realistically claim a series that is constantly shit and a series that has at least interesting beginning are on a same level, as it's clear "interesting beginning" is a positive trait.
You're entitled to have your opinion, but at the same time calling you out on shit taste should be evident reaction to any "fanbase".
That's not what the thread is about though.
Myself;Yourself was very bland like you said, but it was pretty comfy to watch. The girl was cute (and bland) and the twins were pretty nice as well. I liked the part with the mail box too, made me really care for her!
>You're entitled to have your opinion, but at the same time calling you out on shit taste should be evident reaction to any "fanbase".
I dont see other fanbase's calling out peoples shit taste when they talk about their favorite anime
Why does NNB and similar shows attract the most neckbearded autists/fattest landwhales
Probably No. 6. I don't even mind gay shit, but that ending was just thoroughly awful and nonsensical. I really should've dropped it after the first few episodes, but I was at home with a fever and just felt like watching the day away.
I'm glad there is at least one other person who thought this same thing. What I cant get is how something so bad has a manga that just never ends and keeps the same shit up for well over 100 chapters.
One of these, I don't really fancy spending time deciding which pile of shit stinks the worst.
>I don't see other fanbase's calling out people shit taste
Then you should probably spend more time on /a/, it's pretty much the norm. Of course you're going to get a negative reaction if you shit on a show that a significant amount of people consider good. I don't really know what you expected to happen and don't really understand how you use a common occurrence as an indicator of shit fanbase, at least considering even the critique you voiced isn't even aimed at the series but the fanbase being "landwhales".
I don't really know what I expected either.
Of course I'm going to point out the landwhale remark as that was pretty much the only attempt at argument you ever even made.
It's really beyond me why you're on some one man vendetta.
Gatchaman Crowds, I think. I try to look for the good in everything I watch, but I really had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for praise. The cast was dislikable; I had indifference at best towards them, the plot was poorly executed, and the philosophical bent they kept trying to present fell completely flat.
You have no business talking about truly bad shows if you haven't watched Mahou Sensou or Glasslip.
My first 300 shows I wasn't dropping anything, then it was because I was too deep into show already, or I hoped it would be good, or /a/ told me it'd be better later on, or I had too much trouble finding and downloading this shit I have to finish it now. Speedwatching and skipping helped a lot.
Devil Survival 2
Aku no Hana
First Sailor Moon Crystal (the new airing one is good)
Hen Zemi TV (Ovas were fun but tv was disgusting as fuck)
and so on.
At least the OST was good. But same here. Fuck Myself;Yourself
I remember Mahou Sensou. Didn't they just say fuck making the last episode and end it on a cliff hanger?
I think I'm relatively picky, so there aren't many, but there's a definite winner for the shittiest: Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu. What an abomination that was.
Now, I'm not exactly saying it's the worst series that I've finished, but the pacing problems in episodes 9 and 10 make it unsuitable for repeat viewings.
I would have said Desert Punk instead, had I finished that series, but OP said "actually finished," so...
Please, stay beautiful, anon!
Glasslip gave me "You can delete the email, but you can't delete love" quote. At least it was beautiful to look at.
I was hoping for another Star driver but it was generic as hell.
Weekly battles with evils were flat, characters felt flat, romance was flat, bromance was flat. Only Boxing Green's arc in the middle of the show was interesting.
The show wasn't really bad but it felt like water and I was disappointed and angry at myself for spending so much time on it.
I know a lot of people really like it but Love Hina consistently put me to sleep. This is coming from a guy who loves harem/ecchi stuff. It's just so fucking boring.
Also, I liked Karin (Chibi Vampire) a lot as a kid but the dub is probably one of the worst in the industry.
What didn't you like about Desert Punk?
Probably Chaika, Oreimo and Nagato Yuki-chan.
I have dropped a lot of shit without finishing too.
Triage X. Had to push through it. Nobody was talking about it as it was airing and nobody is talking about it now and haven't since it stopped airing. It's so boring and absolutely unlikable that apparently it can't even be spoken of.
I didn't like 0079 much either except for Char, but I've only finished a few Gundam series. I'll be watching Zeta next, hopefully I like it more or I'll just give up on getting into the franchise.
I dropped that shit at episode 5. Did it ever get better? It was taking way too long to actually get into the plot.
That's a trick question OP.
I can't tell you what the worst series I watched is because the chances are I've already forgotten everything about it because it was so incredibly bland and forgettable.
Haruhi S2 is the worst anime ever televised, according to scientific measurements. It had some good episodes but that doesn't come close to making up for endless 8 at all.
Air, Kanon, and Clannad (not After Story, I loved that) were all absolutely autistic. I only pushed through them because I used to be a Kyoanuslicker before Free was made.
Upotte!! permanently turned me off from all Xebec series forever. I will never watch another anime by that studio no matter what.
I suppose if that doesn't count then either Charlotte or Zetsuen no Tempest would be it.
>I used to be a Kyoanuslicker before Free was made.
>changing your mind on a studio solely because it made a series aimed at a demographic that isn't yours
You have zero right to call anything autistic
I'm struggling to recall the specifics, but long story short, no. The military cabal eventually captures Felia only to be suddenly usurped by a new villian, with the last two episodes devoted to Sogo & Co. rescueing her in order to stop an apocalyptic interplanetary resource transfer.
Not the sequel that people seem to actually like, just the boring first one. I don't really remember what it was about.
Crowds wasn't really "philosophical", it was supposed to be a comment on how people interact on the internet, and how anonymity can be both a good and bad thing. There are a few direct call-outs, namely trolls in S1 and SJWs in S2, but I wouldn't say it's problems stem entirely from the premise.
I don't know if Z is objectively any better, that's why I mentioned the difference to be strange. It's edgier that 0079 and I'm an eternal machild so that might be the reason.
Just recently started watching Turn A and it's been great so far, if you're about to drop the franchise I recommend trying it first.
>Literally why? Xebec has made some shit but upotte isn't one.
That's just the only one I could finish. I had already read the manga and the anime was low budget and sameface without adding anything worthwhile until the OVA tiddies.
I see this often on /a/ and the only reasons for this opinion I can think of is that you're either very new to anime or that incest offends you. There are so many really bad shows out there, it doesn't compare.
Kotoura-san. This shit should have honestly ended right here on the third episode, but it just kept getting worse and worse.
Season 2 goes full harem and has the worst ending of anything ever. Season 1 is a sort of enjoyable otaku themed incest-lite show that draws in people who weren't anticipating the garbage that would follow it. That's where the problem arises. Many of us were mislead into finishing it.
It's certainly not the worst ending ever. It might be an ending that you are unsatisfied with because there was no way to expect it, but as I said there are so many worse shows, shows that are really shit from beginning to end, so that you can't even distinguish a bad ending. A show that disappoints you at the end is not bad overall.
What constitutes as 'worst' anyway?
I think shit shows that I don't remember a single thing about because they're so forgettable are far worse than complete garbage like Glasslip or Green green that are so bad that to this very day I will still post them in shit rec threads.
He's wrong about Nichijou being one of the best but the anon is completely right about Shitgatsu being garbage.
I put that show alongside the likes of Sakurasou and Charlotte as well-polished shit.
It was one of my first anime too, my 13 years old self thought that a Devil May Cry anime would be the coolest shit ever.
I still don't understand why they decided to keep around that annoying little girl.
Almost still worth it.
I don't think I've ever seen another anime that personally offended me and spat in my face the way this one did.
I barely made it to the end, only because so forced myself to finish season 2. S2 was unbearable at that point and never got to the new season. Best decision.
I don't know if your trolling or serious, but DBZ is legitimately on of the worst shounen anime I've seen. It pretty much took all of the mysticism and humor of Dragonball and replaced it with power-scaling and edginess.
It took itself way too seriously and over analyzed everything
Even though it isn't complete I don't know why I watched it through. I think I kept telling myself that it would get better and maybe Hachiman would finally score a gf but he never fucking does and the entire series is just cock teases, pointless flirting that gets no where and over emotional shit.
#1 worst is Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. Nothing happens after episode 2, nothing else redeeming.
#2 Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito. One decent character (Hazuki), some interesting ideas, but the existence of its plot can only be described with negative numbers.
#3 Dagashi Kashi. One good character (Saya), 12 episodes of candy infomercials.
2003 was a terrible year.
It's the best "filler" but not the best episode by a long shot.
Most would probably say Gohan vs. Cell fight (the last part of it) is the best of the series. The problem with the anime is more how it drags out, even in Kai.
Which is funny considering the manga is only 40 volumes long in its entirety and you can go through it pretty damn fast since there's not endless talking, just well drawn action.
Not even that, the show simply ended with the MC going into a portal to the past or something, then seeing the edgelord villain hanging around with someone he knows, looking at him and laughing. After that it cut to the credits and the show was over.
I guess the staff completely gave up. At least Mui was cute.
While not that anon, forced drama doesn't necessarily mean that the show is bad. While there definitely are some forced moments and plotlines, notably everything involving his mother, the last half when she's actually dying and he's falling into a rather well done and accurate depression is rather good. The suicide pact scene, in particular, is still really good, and every Performance scene is gorgeous and fantastic. While it's nowhere near as perfect as Reddit says, it's still a pretty solid 8 in my book.
Ugh, yeah. I read the entire manga in one sitting after the first episode because it hooked me super hard, but the fucking adaptation was awful. The way that it absolutely butchered everything to do with Miki is enough to make it at least the worst adaptation I've ever seen, and up there with the worst shows in general.
These two popped to mind immediately
I also think of "engaged to the unidentified"
>Trying this hard
Kid it's clear you've seen like 10 anime tops if you are calling SAO the worst you've seen.
Kotoura-san and Pupa have got to be up there with worst ever. I also have a special hate for Kimi no Iru Machi.
Glasslip was bad, but the first 6-7 episodes set up what could have been an incredible finale. It was ALMOST good. You can't lump it in with the true garbage anime.
Deadman Wonderland. Wanted to drop it episode two but my roommate sat down and started watching it too and liked it so I felt compelled to watch it with him. It was more complex than that, but either way the show was tropey and awful from start to finish and had zero entertainment value. Was so godamn edgy too.
This show isn't even "loltomino" level of bad like Garzey's Wing or G-Reco, it's just trash all around. It's also offensive in that it was highly hyped by Sunrise in detriment Cowboy Bebop and Gasaraki which actual masterpieces that are stille remembered today while Brain Powerd fell into the abyss of mediocrity where it belongs.
This anime has a special derogation. Everyone knows that the islands/Africa episodes weren't directed by Gainax and were handled by korean amateurs.
What's before it and follows it are among the best adventure anime ever created.
Forced drama does mean it is bad. A lot of things was pushed too hard to the viewer. Second half was terrible as not enough focus was one the two musicians. Too much talking/exposition during the performances, although the final one is what all performances should have been, visually vibrant to match the music.
I got into your lie in April for the interesting premise and I do like the overall plot. But the way the story was told to me was utterly terrible and ruins whatever good things the anime has to offer
You watched it for the twincest like the rest of us.
Personally I have to go with this shit and its throwing out of twenty-something episodes of development with the other teacher because the fucking cousin managed to throw some red on a painting.
>MFW when I have seen all of Green green, master of martial hearts, pupa (twice), Skelter Heaven, mars of destruction and diabolik lovers but not a single episode of either FMA yet.
I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me.
You are a champ for sitting through 50 episodes of it even though you didn't like it. You earned the right to criticize it as much as you want. I have to admit that even though I found the show interesting.
If by 'worst' you mean both disappointing and forgettable, Psycho-Pass S2. S1 was nice. S2 was bland and immensely disappointing in comparison. Everyone was forgettable, and I don't remember it really exploring anything in depth beyond "it's a Dominator but BIGGER"
If by 'worst' you mean 'absolutely awful' I'd probably say the first season of hidan no aria. By the end, I was only watching it for the trollsubs.
Honestly this was the biggest let down for me. I watched the whole thing and felt like I wasted my time. I saw all the threads and art for the show and thought it was going to be something so much more legit. Turned out to be boring as fuck and every episode felt pretty much the same. Character design was top notch though.
Mekaku city actors.
Shit anime, forced me to listen to the vocaloid crap just to understand the end, then I did and the end just became worse.
4/10 because the premise and first few eps actually interested me.
You can't blame people for your own shit taste anon.
Pic related. Dragon crisis is a close second.
kill lel kill, most disappointing garbage in a long while.
>Already dropped but picked it up again thanks to the 2nd OP
>that shit writing
>that cringe ayylmao development
>that fetid-tier ending
Oh look, it's this deepfag's the taste again.
Something like non non biyori had a very motivated feel to it and had a good progression. Only ''literature'' fags that think they know about ''good'' anime and writing will spout retarded shit.
If you spout something like aria, You should've really killed yourself.
Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?
Not counting 1-2 ep OVAS.
I've seen plenty of worse things, but I'm too quick to drop them. Those two were either short enough or superficial enough to keep me invested long enough to finish them, and they're both boring to think about.
Moved it over to my phone since im going into night shift right now. Might as well watch it while im sitting at the register all night doing nothing
This was such a disappointment. Hooked by the tags, just like >>141634688
Biggest time waste has to be Law of Ueki - I don't know why I watched it and can't remember anything from it.
He cried more than a beta mc with a harem in a highschool setting. The only things that made it watchable were the horse and potatoes.
Could they have possibly made all of the characters more unlikeable? I still remember the /a/ watches for Guilty Crown. It was quite possibly the biggest shitshow ive ever seen
>And by "ever watched" means a series that you actually finished.
Star Driver. I watched it cause you faggots, and by you I mean the /a/ of 2010
HOLY SHIT 2010? Fuck I'm oldwouldn't shut up about it. It was fun watching it with /a/ but the NTR episode really took a hot dump on my fun cake then each episode got worse there after cause nothing was being resolved, no progress was being made and the cast was just doing stuff for the shits n' giggles.
2nd worst anime I've watched to completion cause of listening to /a/ would be Nichijou. It just wasn't very funny. Each episode made me smile, grin or think "gee that's kinda interesting" but I never once laughed.
Nichijou was boring, but not bad. Star Driver though is just awful. I can't say enough to its quality that would display how bad it is and how much I hate it. It was so bad, that I felt pity on myself for having stuck through it cause of /a/. JUST what a piece of shit. Image is how I feel, even to this day over star driver.
I mostly drop shit pretty early if its not meeting expectations. I would say Milky Holmes TD was the most boring and shitty thing I actually finished, in vain hopes it would suddenly turn around at some point.
Mad somebody doest like your favorite cuckfest?
>I swear /a/ reccomends people garbage for shits and giggles sometimes.
Maybe you weren't around but Star Driver was HYPED. It had as much hype as Madoka as it aired. Dozens of threads a day, reaching the cap of 250 every time, gif clips out the ass and people discussing which girl they'd want to giver their driver to. As much as Kill La Grill did. It was supposed to be the golden child of anime, /a/ swore by it when it was airing, even past episode 16.
Watching anime with /a/ makes them FEEL better than they actually are when you watch them alone with no one to discuss it with. That's part of the charm of /a/ and not all their recommendations are bad. I recently started watching Ushio To Tora cause of /a/ and it's top notch.
Jumbled plots with no story consistency/continuity, characters i didnt care for at all, OVA1 had bad animation of stills half the time. OVA 2 is pure shock value, im usually not phased by much but the guro/gangrape scenes made me want to turn it off.
The only thing remotely positive is Shinya Ohira's sakuga animation work on some of the scenes in OVA 2 and 3 and the music. This coming from someone who likes 80's anime and Go Nagai.
The manga was enjoyable for me and I kept watching thinking "it's gonna get better" but it just kept getting worse. It isn't objectively the worst thing I've ever watched but it was the one that left me feeling the most upset for finishing.
Not that anon, but I'll tell you some about the hate for Elfen Lied
It's a typical "babbies first x" type of anime.
It aired in the early 00's when a lot of people were just picking up on this new "internet" thing. Many found their way to Elfen Lied as it was commonly shared on DC hubs and viewers became infatuated by the mature theme, going: "this is not your typical cartoon!". It's fanbase is inherently annoying which further fuels the disdain for the show.
And it has continued in such a fashion to this day.
While the show looks nice most of the time, one of it's flaws is the abundance of static key frames. There are certain scenes where the audio doesn't match up particularly well with the animation, one of the biggest offenders being the scene in the finale where Lucy is crying into her palms. It's bad.
cba writing anymore, but some other stuff:
>characters aren't fleshed out
>backstory improperly covered
It's hardly the worst show - but seeing people rank it in their "Top 10s" or whatever recommendation is odd. It's ok to enjoy it.
Great hot girls redeem anything. Unless you're one of them gays I've heard about. You are correct in all your negatives, but the girls are still top tier. Any anime with a lot of negatives is saved purely by the quality of the girls in it, unless you be a gay.
Pic related fits all your qualms and then some. BUT the girls in it? Sweet jesus. Automatically redeemed.
Saint Seiya Omega. And I finished only because it was a Saint Seiya continuation, but fuck, it was hard to.
Although if you allow movies as well, then Samurai Shodown: The Motion Picture. That's objectively the worst anime I watched in my entire life, I couldn't believe how bad it was. It's not a matter of tastes, it's that bad.
Probably World Conquest Zvezda Plot, I only watched it because the little girl in it was dressed like a complete slut, and it had some cute moments. Other than that it was completely braindead and I kept watching it even though there was no good reason to do so.
That's true, but the hype and constant praise of a series raises your expectations of it; and in contrast to that, the disappointment becomes that much larger. It's considered "special", "fascinating", and "gorgeous" by those not well traversed in anime. They will continue recommending the show as a great first entry for people looking to get into anime - and it works fantastically well. It's a vicious cycle where people with low expectations are baited with the premise of the show being "not like the other stuff you've seen".
Easily Omamori Himari.
complete trash. especially the ending. i mean what the actual fuck.
>It's considered "special", "fascinating", and "gorgeous" by those not well traversed in anime.
You literally only had to read the words following what you quoted.
For a lot of people, Elfen Lied is the first anime they come across that features: frontal nudity, gore, psychological horror, and other "adult" themes. This leaves an impression on them - especially if they're young. An older audience will most likely have come across these themes before on multiple occasions - not necessarily limited to anime. It's not unique or shocking to them.
But a younger, inexperienced, immature person will be fascinated by these themes - and concur that "this was certainly something else", and go on recommending it to another person as the bee's knees to another individual, who might rate it as absolute garbage on the basis that he disliked the story, characters or whatever else.
Yeah, these kids don't know REAL bad anime, they just think that one thing they didn't like was the worst that ever was, when it was just sub par or not interesting to them.
Most modern stuff is decent or passable. The REAL bad stuff was the early 80's anime that no one in this thread watched cause they were still sperm in daddy's nuts. There was gems and we all remember them, but when they were bad, they were extremely bad.
Most bad shows are so bad that they're enjoyable in a way.
Glasslip was just plain bad.
The only thing I can remember happening was the bike falling over after Touko said "thanks" to being confessed to.
The only good thing about the time I watched Garzey's Wing was the /a/ cancer chat in the stream. Eve G-Savior was ironically enjoyable. Whatever happened to that Shittiest Anime stream that ran every Thursday or so?
Coppelion wasn't garbage. It was just a massive waste of potential. Up there with Pilot's Love Song and Unbreakable Machine Doll.
Speaking of which, Unbreakable Machine Doll probably qualifies. The monologues were too long-winded.
GC was some straight-up 80s tier shit anime. It was astonishingly badly planned and written. I know it had that "dropped every episode" meme, but I really never came back to it after episode 7 or 8.
Some less memorable turds are Dragon Crisis and Hidan no Aria. The god-king of dogshit is Master of Martial Hearts 1-4.
I wanted to watch that until I saw that every time I pass one of those threads they're posting gay shit and now I just assume the whole thing is fujobait. Quite a shame I'll never know if it's actually good because the fanbase on /a/ ruined it.
Least memorable/"worst" shows I can find on my watched list are... Classroom Crisis, Code:Breaker, Coppelion(this would've been great but went fucking nowhere), Hamatora s1, Mekaku City Actors, Red Data Girl, [email protected] and Zettai Karen Children.
Code:Breaker is probably the most "why did I actually finish this" series on there.
What show do I feel like was the absolute worst?
Welcome to the NHK. Shit adaptation that crashed and burned after the first 12~ or so episodes.
GC had its moments as trainwreck.
It's one of those shows you had to watch with /a/ to have enjoyment out of it.
Despite being really popular to talk about, most anons admitted it's really weak show which had mostly shock value going for it.
But to call it worst show you've ever watched? I wouldn't go that far.
Currently trying to slog through Dimension W, but I'm not sure I can finish it. So far robot girl and the catchy OP are the only things holding it up. Not sure if it gets any better. I think I'm at ep 4
Its not, the fujos just went wild with it because the brothers are voiced by very famous male seiyuus
Its VERY hit and miss though, the 80s anime is much more consistent.
Iyami should have stayed the MC.
Going off my MAL it's a tie between
11 eyes at least had a soundtrack good enough for me to download, I don't remember anything about the actual show though so it couldn't have been that bad. Chuu Bra had zero pretenses about being good so I'm not going to hold it accountable for my decision to watch. But Chaos Head...the hype surrounding it, Kitaeri, and a pretty good OP/ED was just enough to sustain me through the whole shitshow. If I had to choose one it would definitely be Chaos Head.
The tone and humor is quite different between the two shows, I think the newer anime is way more enjoyable if you watched the older ones first.
And Im not even sure if osomatsukun has english subs, I watched it dubbed to spanish
Superb dub by the way.
Fujos first went wild with the seiyuus and ep1. When production noticed it they did throw around fujobait. There's blatant fujo pandering by "shipping" Kara and Ichi. Some jokes are good even when they are fujo pandering but it's still fujobait.
Vividred Operation or Glasslip, Jesus fuck I could have back logged something instead of that garbage.
Yes they obviously wanted fujo money from the start, its obvious from the choice of voice actors, but it never got into the writing too much, or I didint notice it anyways, and Im very intolerant to gayshit
Makes sense since theyd also want to sell it to a wide audience, osomatsu was always a big franchise in Japan, Id say they succeeded in bringing back casual anime fans while relying on fujos to buy plastic crap
10/10 marketing tactics
Pic related literally ruined 2012 for me.
Don't overgeneralize. Certain fan bases are way worse that others and you fucking know it. Take Rakudai no Kishi, Asterisk, and Anitmagic fanbases for example. Holy cow, I never commented there but those Fall 2015 threads were some of the most pathetic shit slinging I have ever seen. If you think thats the norm here they put other "fanbases" to shame.
Nichijou is hit or miss. I can find one moment hilarious and another just looks dumb as hell. It's mostly just wtf slapstick humor, like the kind you find on web animations. I would probably enjoy it more if I was in middle school, but I'm 26 now.
I'm curious to know what you thought redeemed Coppelion. The main cast was boring, and the cute girl devolved into a whiny mess early on in the series. The potential for theme was completely ruined by turning it into a generic action show. Near the end it breaks several well established rules in order to tie up the story, making a further mess of various things it was striving to do. I realize it was an adaptation of an unfinished story, but come on, it wasn't just wasted potential, it was outright horrible.
I would say the whole Fate franchise.
The fanbase is shit and no real arguments only "read the VN" and the samefagging is hilarious.
Fate/Kaleid was a breeze of fresh air but that's it.
Fuck you TM
Monster, I got baited hard by people online saying this show was this and that and anything other than slow pointless grind that builds up to nothing. Solid character building. Decent music. But nothing but disappoint for story.
But K-On is bad on every level but the visuals (and even that has problems, see the QUALITY hands occasionally popping up), recognising it as awful is not being a "literature"fag but more having a basic sense of quality.
Fucking this. It's just so insultingly bad on every level, even in the first episode I'm baffled at how moronic everyone is, ESPECIALLY the adults; how come none of them ever thought of, you know, simply telling Kotoura that maybe blurting out people's darkest secrets right in front of them is wrong? Instead they just pretend she's lying and don't care about emotionally scarring her. And then there are the parents, who KNOW their child can read minds and STILL blame her for them fucking up and abandoning her. You can say whatever you like about Elfen Lied, because it is indeed shit, but it's still a fucking masterpiece compared to Kotoura-san.
Well I wouldn't say "one of the worst" but I agree it is disgustingly overrated, even when compared to its predecessor (I don't give a shit of it's the same story in the manga) hell even the oh so highly regarded Freeza arc was boring and dragged on far too long, the only good thing about it being the Ginyu Force.
I'll fight you anonymous
It could have been decent if it was 2-cor. It just feels half-assed and rushed as it is.
I'm still baffled by the decision to leave it 1-cor when it was guaranteed to print money with Jun Maeda and Na-Ga as core staff.
At least I have the VN to look forward to.
I usually drop bad shows early on, but this show was barely interesting enough for me to keep watching. And then the ending was just hot trash, but I was so close to the end that I just finished it.
Monster was pretty bad as well
Mahouka. It had all the flaws of SAO but with an even blander MC and more retarded love interest (his sister, and it's not even some complicated love story where she develops feelings for him through certain events either, she wants his cock and gets jealous when she sees him with other girls since the very beginning for literally no reason at all) who is the most beautiful thing with a vagina ever made despite being the plainest Jane I've ever seen.
Pretty much the only scene I enjoyed in the 10 episodes I watched was when this other guy (who used to be an asshole but ended up with the same girl he was bullying) got angry and started chasing the red-headed chick for spreading his secret relationship.
I still remember the growing anger and despair.
>"Wow, it's the same episode"
>"this is pretty creative"
>"inb4 the entire season is this"
>"they did it again"
>"inb4 it really does last the entire season"
>"no fucking way it won't, i'll be so fucking mad"
>"it's impossible because sales will go down the shitter if they do"
>">we've entered an endless recursion of time"
>"what the FUCK this is bullshit"
>"this will be the last episode they do it, they can't do this any longer"
>"What the hell is kyoani doing?"
>">we've entered an endless recursion of time"'
>"i swear if this lasts for 8 fucking episodes"
>"they can't possibly do this the entire season, right? right?"
>">WE'VE ENTERED AN ENDLESS RECURSION OF TIME"'
>">WE'VE ENTERED AN ENDLESS RECURSION OF TIME"'
>">WE'VE ENTERED AN ENDLESS RECURSION OF TIME"'
>"hey you guys it's the same script but every scene is animated differ-"

Madoka, and basically any type of mahou shoujo show. Every Single One of them are complete garbage.
I'd rather rewatch pupa 1000 times than sit through another mahou shoujo show.
Tokyo Underground. Not even Chelsea could save this shit series
I really wanted to like Sakura Wars more but holy shit was it boring.
Love the OP and Sakura though
This. It still surprises me that the series gets threads on /a/ and there are people who genuinely considered it good. I don't know why I watched it, it was bland and cliche, and only reason I remember it as it for some reason gets still mentioned as a "muh feels" cancer anime.
I don't think Yahari takes itself that seriously. In terms of complexity it's barely above your regular drama, and there's even the undertone that the main character is aware of himself being angsty bullshitter.
It's just the fanbase that goes "but what could it mean" and overanalyzes things that never really never were complicated.
Bit like those monogatari fags.
It boggles my mind that this overglorified Death Note wannabe is (or was) so popular everywhere. It's not even bad in a funny way, it's just poorly written, self-important, melodramatic schlock pandering to the lowest common denominator.
Hahaha oh shit. Watched it recently, and when they started chasing that girl with rifles because of something her parents had done like 10 years ago I couldn't help but laugh. First it was just boring shit and then it escalated into insane shit. It wasn't as bad as Myself;Yourself solely because it was "fun" trainwreck, but both are pretty much on the same scale of boring waste of time.
I can't help but to be buttplasted for all the comments calling series a ripoff because it has slightly similar art-style.
>"B-but the main character also plays instrument"
Every fucking time. Sure, I understand people expecting military action are disappointed by the SoL aspects and people expecting SoL by the action ending, but at least you could try to voice some valid criticism rather than "lol keion". Eternally triggered.
I don't really understand why this is hard to get. Anon claims 90% of seasonal anime is/was worse than Erased. I didn't like Erased but I can agree that every season has huge amount of shit that is worse by far. It's not really a buzzword in this context and it's not referring to long-running shows in any way, I don't understand why you understood it like this.
Arakawa under the Bridge and Arakawa under the bridge X Bridge. I still can't believe I watch the whole two seasons for nothing. The jokes were okay at first, but then mediocrity stepped in.
Can confirm. My ex-roommate loved Tokyo ESP for God knows why.
C wasn't so bad imho. Just think of it as a metaphorical representation of blood money circulation and destabilization of currency through financial injection in the real world. Stocks will go haywire, currency exchange rates out of control, governments collapsing, people freaking out cause they've been dependable on money, world war, etc.
R.I.P. in pieces School Food Punishment
Maybe claiming "norm" is too generalizing statement, but claiming nnb fanbase is the worst or the only aggressive fanbase is a statement that falls flat immediately after you actually spend time on /a/, that's pretty much the main point.
Tokyo ESP was fun. Once you realize the dad of mc is wolverine you realize the series doesn't take even itself seriously it's a fun ride. I don't see anyone being a huge fun of the series but with the right mindset it's really not the worst anime out there. If you're expecting something serious then yeah, I understand if you're incapable of enjoying it.
Nanana no treasure blabla
Anime about 2 mafia guy op is cool tho too bad i only remember that studio get rekt
Thanks to those shows i had learn to drop every cheap LN adaptation or original after 3 episode rules
Back then i saw every animes without dropping shit ton of shows
I thought we're talking about animu here. But nonetheless, GE was emotionally wrecking and at the same time bland. You know everything is forced, but you had to read it. I dropped it midway after confirming my hunch that main girl was used goods. The one shot was way better, with the ambiguity and all. GE was bad, but worst? Maybe other manga should take that position.
Trigun. Even as a Toonami-loving little shithead I thought it was lame, and Vash was not the least bit funny. However I'll give it credit for having a unique (as far as I know) premise, as dumb as it was, and I liked Nicolas and Milly.
I actually kind of liked School Days and I'm slightly dissapointed it has a meme status. After watching god knows how many harem anime, it's pretty much more realistic version and has a very satisfying ending. In no way I would say it's the worst out there.
I played the VN first, and then then watched the anime. I enjoyed both actually.
In the VN for example, you are not forced to be evil, and the 20~ endings are actually pretty cool.
Also, Shiny Days is a good VN as well, set in the same universe and characters.
The ending is the only redeemable part of that anime, the rest of it is absolute shit.
I actually did end up playing the VN afterwards just to see what other kinds of endings there were and because of the gimmick of it being animated. I don't really get why they bothered making an anime of it when the VN was already basically a lower quality anime but with player choice involved.
