It's one of my favorite shows, period.

I feel very uneasy that Adult Swim is basically going forward with 12 more episodes (2 seasons). The show ended on such good terms, I really don't know what direction they would take this without making it feel like an obvious cash grab.

To stay true to the original they would first need to get a killer soundtrack, and be willing to play with different animation styles. If they don't attempt to get these parts right, then what we will end up with is just some random anime with FLCLs name plastered over it.

My take on this is that we will always have the original series.
Whenver someone complains about something new, expeacilly when its been dead for over ten years anyway, I just roll my eyes.
I have low expectations season 2 and 3 will be any good, but like I said I'm still glad it's happening and looking forward to it... just hoping it isn't TOO bad.

If it's just Haruko and Mamimi come back to Mabase it'll definitely suck. If it does something like being about Naota and Ninamori's kid and Naota has become his father it will have a tiny chance of not sucking.

I disliked FLCL since I first saw it in 2001. Its real easy to tell which episodes of Kare Kano this guy directed because they feature the same over the top art style and random humor. One scene is practically copied from Kare Kano into FLCL.

So sad that Kare Kano didn't get finished but this shit is getting more.

I haven't really sat down and watched it since it aired on Adult Swim back in the day, and I don't think I was quite old enough to appreciate it properly back then. I still enjoyed it a shitload and it made me want to buy a Vespa for years but I think some of it went over my head, especially the relationship shit between Naota and Mamimi and to a lesser extent Haruko.
