What makes him special that no one ever calls him edgy?
DtB aired before people used the term edgy very often. It sort of became a meme a few years ago. Same thing with DEEP.
That and he's pretty emotionless and fairly stable, at least compared to the average angstlord 14 year old brat that is usually labeled edgy.
That's a front that breaks the moment they get into shit. Hei is really just a siscon. That's it. Everything else as far as he is concerned isn't really worth caring about. Only his sister makes him alive.
While he is a hitman spy guy, he shows compassion for the people he is using at least and sometimes even helps them out. It's just the job comes first because the organization he works for has him by the balls.
He isn't really edgy.
Welp in Hei's case there wasn't even darkness in his soul, just general numbness and a very few soft spots.
He's just a very calm and collected character that doesn't go full Sasuke, and a pretty cool guy in general
There's literally nothing wrong with blind girls.
Because Hei is just a guy that wants to save his sister and just keep doing his own shit. He does't have retarded darkness shit going on and he keeps himself together for a very large part of the show, and the few times he does lose it he doesn't make a huge deal out of it and is pretty brief. He's pretty mature and cool, not edgy.
> beats little girls
From what kind of fanfiction are you getting this?
Thats the best part. Almost every scene with Hei is unintentional comedy because of how much he doesn't fit in with everything else.
It's the only way I could manage to sit through a rewatch of S2.
I love how DtB has the vanillaest douijins, its like having a heart attack over and over.
Threadly reminder that everybody but /a/ love edgy characters and that there's only jealous faggots who complain about them because they can't self insert.
They prefer pussy characters who cry their soul out like BnHA mc.
Probably fresh and clean with a very minor scent of deodorant and sweat.
Generic edgy MCs are more entertaining than generic moralfag MCs. At least in shit shows, edgy MCs have a chance to turn the show into a trainwreck and make it fun to watch.
Pic somewhat related.
If Anonymous says so then I can only believe.
what's /a/ definition of an edgelord anyway.
You keep calling the buzzword but you never come up with the same meaning.
Now that you mention it, edgelord turned into a moralfag is basically the oldest trick in the book in order to turn a character into a fan favorite. It's cheap and it doesn't require any sort of particular talent as a writer to pull off and the masses love it.
If watch the OVAs in between them, then the second season will make a lot more sense. Memers will tell you the second season is bad because they watched it before the OVAs came out so I'd suggest you watch them and then form your own opinion on season two.
Who doesn't like Guts? Also, Sasuke is basically a moralfag now as far as I know. Same for Vegeta who had an edgy phase in the boo saga again, but was redeemed at the end. I wouldn't know about Kaneki since I haven't read Tokyo Ghoul. Redemption of the edgelord is what most of those readers seek.

He's so edgy that his edge has become a split personality
