I feel like Amuro works better as a supporting character.
Amuro is literally the same as Jotaro, he works so much better as a supporting character.
I never really liked Amuro before Zeta, and I could say the same about Jotaro, never really liked him before part 4.
Remember that brief moment where it looked like Goku was going to take a back seat and let Gohan take over the show?
Somewhere, there is a quantum reality where that was allowed to happen. We need interdimensional dvd rentals.
Gohan's a boring fucking character though and really doesn't have much reason to fight other than "my dad wants me to" or "my friends/people are in danger."
He's basically just a generic hero and is therefore far less interesting than even goku himself who has the quirk of not necessarily wanting to save the day as much as he just wants to fight strong dudes.
even if that's true, toriyama spent all those years setting up gohan as the the one the torch would be passed to and changed it the VERY end of the buu saga.
it feels like a waste to not follow through on it.
